Cocktail
As Vodka is a neutral spirit, it is easy to make a variety of cocktails that don’t overwhelm the palate. The Bloody Mary and Ceasar are savoury cocktails that are very closely related. The Bloody Mary is primarily an American drink while the Ceasar is a Canadian spin on the cocktail.

Stolichnaya is a classic Russian vodka and can be used to create either the Black or White Russian cocktail. What is the difference you ask? The base (vodka) is the same, but the White Russian will have the addition of cream to elevate the party in your mouth!

One of the easiest cocktails to make but so refreshing! Mint is readily available at your local grocery store and it’s easy to make your own simple syrup. Easy to make and refreshingly bitter, the Negroni is said to have been invented in Florence by the intrepid Italian Count Camillo Negroni in the early 20th century. Wanting to “amp up” the Manhattan, the use of Gin gives it more of a punch, whilst the Vermouth softens the bitterness of the Campari. A world-wide favourite!
1 oz Gin
1 oz Vermouth
3/4 oz Campari
Add the gin, Campari and sweet vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until well-chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel.
Many versions of this “old” cocktail exists but one thing remains: they all use Bourbon. You can call Bourbon whisky, but you can’t call all whisky Bourbon…Whilst the original recipe called for a sugar cube, simple syrup can be used, and now even smoky based liqueurs can be added for a twist on this legendary cocktail
Use Old Forster Bourbon for the recipe (2 oz)
¼ oz simple syrup
3 dashes Angostura bitters.
Stir ingredients together in cocktail glass with ice. Pour into chilled highball glass and garnish with an orange twist
Almost like an Old Fashioned, but not quite. This classic cocktail features Vermouth for a nutty, bitter, spicy addition to the rye. If you’re looking for a sweeter version, use Bourbon, otherwise try it with rye whisky for an extra hit of spicy!
2 oz Rye Whisky
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
Put all ingredients into a cocktail glass with ice. Stir well. Strain into chilled coupe and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Sangria – Instead of purchasing a pre-mixed Sangria, why not make your own? Whether it’s a red, white, or rosé version, any fruit available in the refrigerator will add extra flavour and colour! Choose a full-bodied red, light white or fruity rose for optimal Sangria!
