"I love what I do: selling some great wine (much of it Italian and of the indigenous grape variety), educational tastings, and just showing overall passion for the world of wine! I hold the WSET diploma in Wines & Spirits, am one of only 16 Italian Wine Experts through the Vinitaly International Academy (VIA), & a certified VIA Educator teaching the newly formed VIA Italian Wine Maestro Program. I recently completed the Italian Wine Scholar Guild certification. Sometimes I even get to be a wine judge, both internationally and locally!
When I’m not doing things related to wine, I enjoy meeting with friends, evening chats with my husband, watching football, making cards, riding my bicycle, reading (for pleasure), meeting new people and playing the piano. I love sharing my passion of wine which I do during wine tastings. I hope I exemplify that joy every time I talk to anyone about wine! I want to share my passion of wine, and maybe give some options on choosing wine to drink with your friends, on the patio, or with an opulent 5-course meal. Jim Pettinger has been active in the Alberta Liquor Industry since the mid nineties, beginning with delivery and then in 2003 transitioning to retail when he began managing the Sherbrooke Liquor Store, which his family still owns and operates to this day. Under his leadership Sherbrooke grew to become one of the largest Independent Liquor Stores in Alberta and certainly the finest Beer Store in Canada. Now concentrating more on fine wines and Spirits, Jim is very pleased to be working with the Canadian Liquor Store and looks forward to helping it grow and succeed across Canada!
