“A perfect Yquem again after the 2021, which is fresher and more refined than the 2022. The perception of sweetness is super-knit. Lots of botrytis, with turmeric, saffron, cream, roasted meringue, pine nuts, spices and dried mangoes. This is a powerful, seductive and lush wine. Ornamented and richer this year than 2021, but there is so much charm and harmony. Long and spicy, with a hint of petrol at the end. Wow. The second most concentrated Yquem after 1945, according to the winemaker. About 160 grams of residual sugar. So approachable now, but better in five or six years. It will live forever."

Ripe aroma with abundant notes of pepper, blackberries, black plums and chocolate, all very concentrated and rich. Taylor Fladgate is one of the oldest of the founding Port houses (since 1692). It is dedicated entirely to the production of Port wine and in particular to its finest styles. The VVOP is the latest in a series of exclusive releases from Fladgate. It is made from a selection of rare lots that have been maturing in wood, some before the Second World War. The wine will be represented beautifully in a bespoke decanter and accompanying wooden case. Deep chestnut brown in colour, the age is evident upon first glance. The nose has a heady aroma of butterscotch, dried figs and ground coffee, intermingling with marzipan and sultana raisins. Underneath in the background, the aromas are lifted by orange peel and apricot. Hints of vanilla, cedarwood and cinnamon provide a subtle spicy note. The complexity of this port is simply astounding. The acidity is still bright, yet the flavours are mellow and will emerge on the seemingly endless finish. Very few ports retain such balance and finesse after so many years maturing in cask. This is surely a port collectors masterpiece. 

Dark yellow with a hint of amber. Quince, blackcurrants, tobacco notes in the nose. Peach and honey tones appear on the palate made smooth by the vintage. The sweetness of the residual sugar and crisp acids form a beautiful harmony in the wine. The notes from wood-barrel ageing nestle into the taste of the wine. Delicate golden color with soft green glints. Intense nose with tremendous aromatic richness. Initial notes of citrus zest are followed by lemon tart, and then toasted notes reminiscent of freshly baked brioche. The palate offers mandarin zest and candied orange, enlivened by a touch of star anise which underscores the wine's aromatic freshness. Dense and rich, the palate has good length with a pleasant hint of bitterness on the finish.
It is only in Sauternes that botrytis can develop, giving Rieussec its unique richness. This noble rot meets our grapes to create a delicate osmosis that we reveal by harvesting each grape at the ideal moment.
