Its straw-yellow colour is accompanied by a fine persistent mousse crowning the disc with a delicate and harmonious cord. On the nose, the first aromas are very complex and awaken the senses. After a few moments, with much delicacy, subtle notes of flowers and fresh fruit are married with more subtle lemony flavours. The nose is elegant and powerful, indicating a wine of great complexity and beautiful harmony. Once in your mouth, aromas of butter, crème brûlée and spices blossom awaken taste buds. It is a gourmand and generous wine with exceptional freshness. After several minutes of tasting, this wine’s complexity and scarcity give an explosion of flavours in the mouth, with a dominant citrus fruit and some salinity on the finish, a natural aromatic symphony.

Dark red stone fruits, menthol, sage and licorice open up, but with considerable aeration. “The 2025 Le Blanc de Duhart-Milon constitutes the fifth vintage from regrafted vines on cooler, late-ripening limestone soils, mainly Sémillon with 15% malo. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, bright acids, again, a little more lees than before, but that leads to a complex, stem ginger tinged finish that lingers in the mouth. “This wine evinces pleasing refinement, with clean fruit and a composed feel on the palate. Aromas of ripe cherry and blackberry come through clearly, complemented by subtle floral hints of violet, along with touches of vanilla and a faint note of eucalyptus leaf. The attack is supple and well–defined, with a slightly austere edge at this stage that should integrate further with barrel ageing (16 months, 35% new oak). There’s an appealing interplay of red and black fruit, giving the mid–palate a vibrant, lifted character, supported by fine, velvety tannins that lend structure without heaviness. Despite the warmth of the vintage, the wine retains a welcome freshness, bringing tension and precision. “The 2025 Lynch-Bages was picked 9 to 21 September and matured in 75% new oak barrels. This has a stunning bouquet with exceptionally pure blackberry, cassis and subtle violet scents, the oak seamlessly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with finely embroidered tannins, perfect acidity, a touch of cedar and black pepper that dovetails into a peacock's tail finish that “clings” to the mouth. This continues the strongest run from Lynch-Bages since the 1980s and, perhaps with the 2025, it is close to surpassing that.”
