The Nicaragua Rum 1999 Sansibar 17 Year Old is a premium aged rum produced in Nicaragua by an undisclosed distillery and bottled by Sansibar, a German independent bottler. This rum was distilled in 1999 and aged for 17 years in oak casks, resulting in a rich and complex spirit with notes of vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, and spice. It is bottled at cask strength, without any artificial color or flavor additives. The Nicaragua Rum 1999 Sansibar 17 Year Old is a limited edition release with only a few thousand bottles produced.

On the nose, astonishingly perfumed and filled with fruity complexity. Soft notes of rose, jasmine and carnation blend with ripe, red fruits, mint toffee and cake mix. Spicy notes on the palate with additional hints of soft, red fruits, pineapple, pear, oranges, ginger and sweet chili.

Batch #12, blended by Rhea, features a unique mix of well-aged, bold bourbons: 7- to 14-year-old bourbons combined with two different 4-year-old bourbons. The nose reveals sweet spice and caramel with a hint of butterscotch, offering a long, pleasant aroma. The palate presents a warm rush of spice, robust caramel, and cream, melting into passion fruit and spicy citrus notes. The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering caramel and cream. Batch #12 is bottled at 115.8 proof (57.9% ABV).

Critic tasting note: "The age is readily apparent on the nose, which offers notes of chamomile tea, spice cabinet, antique store, grape jam, candied orange, and balanced oak. Malecon Esplendida 1992 is a premium aged rum produced by Malecon in Panama. It is made from molasses and aged for 25 years in oak barrels, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile. The Armagnac Castarede hails from the historic Castarede family, who have been producing Armagnac in France since 1832. This expression offers a rich nose of stewed fruits, cedary oak, pecans, honey, plums, and a touch of white pepper. Over time, the aromas evolve into sweeter notes of vanilla, sticky dates, and old muscat. On the palate, it's silky and elegant, showcasing dried fruits, bread pudding, toffee, and baking spices, complemented by gentle fine tannins on the finish. The result is a refined Armagnac with great finesse and a surprisingly delicate character for its age.

This scorching hot 32-year-old Speyside single malt was carefully aged at the Tomatin distillery starting from 1988, and recently bottled for the revitalized Connoisseurs Choice series by Gordon & MacPhail on March 15, 2021. Drawn from refill American hogshead number 6656 at its natural cask strength of 54.6% ABV, this rare release comprises just 145 bottles, each elegantly presented in a lovely oak presentation case.

As if visiting a First Growth Bordeaux château and tasting the wares, including pristinely cellared library vintages, wasn't awesome enough, the folks at Lafite-Rothschild take the experience one step further. For many years, they have treated esteemed guests and friends to rare and impeccable old Cognac and Armagnac casks individually selected by the Lafite winemaking team themselves. While the secret was well-kept for decades, word eventually got out and demand for these ultra-rare, premium spirits started to reach a fever pitch.
