Masi Mezzanella Amandorlato Recioto is a complex, ruby-red Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG wine from a single vineyard in Italy, characterized by its unique bitter-sweet almond aftertaste and notes of prunes, dried fruits, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. A deep, dark, opaque, glass-staining wine. Restrained, composed & perfumed on the nose with black fruits, cedar, raspberries, blackberries and violets. The palate is very concentrated & extremely refined. Its fine grained tannins are tightly knit, powerful & muscular but in harmony. An outstanding wine.

Aromas reminiscent of cassis, mint and cocktail bitters are heady and boisterous. Unfortunately they're overwhelmed by the mocha-like barrel influence. The palate finishes what the nose started. Made from malbec grapes in a single vineyard, the wine is intense with violet hues, and offers great aromatic richness and elegance. The nose is deeply expressive, with aromas of plums, spices, and balsamic notes. It features a vibrant finish and velvety tannins, creating a sophisticated and memorable tasting experience.

Made with the same grapes and care that go into the Leitz award-winning “regular” Rieslings and Pinot Noirs, the wines are de-alcoholised through a low temperature vaccuum distillation process to ensure alcohol is removed without removing the all important natural aromas and remarkable properties of the terroir. Intense red berry fruit rises from the glass and offers juicy cherry aromas on the palate. A very harmonious red wine alternative with nuances of currants that does not immediately reveal that 99.5% of the alcohol is missing!

The Lautus red blend is made from a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage. Pure red and black berry fruit flavours, with a touch of oak. The elegant palate is underpinned by fine tannin and juicy yet subtle fruit.

The red wine "Prugnolo" Valtellina Superiore from Cantina Rainoldi is named after the "Prunus Spinosa," a decorative shrub that grows near the vineyards and whose blue berries ripen in autumn, coinciding with the harvest period. Made from the noble Nebbiolo grape, "Prugnolo" is a structured and full-bodied wine, crafted from carefully selected grapes from the terraces of Valtellina Superiore. It undergoes a pre-fermentation cryo-maceration lasting about 60 hours, followed by controlled-temperature maceration with continuous pumpover. The wine then matures for approximately twelve months in small oak barrels previously used for Sfursat Fruttaio Ca' Rizzieri. Afterward, it is blended in stainless steel tanks and aged in bottle for at least 9 months before being released.

All in balance here, with precise layers of black fruit, minerals and pencil lead. Rather seamless. Firm, yet fine and sleek to the end. Very classy. Polished and well-structured red with a medium body and firm but creamy and broad tannins. Perfumed already, with sandalwood, blackberry and currant character. Crushed stones. Tea leaves, too. Firm and solid to the end. Very solid for the vintage. 59% cabernet sauvignon, 28% merlot, 10% cabernet franc, 1.5% carmenere and 1.5% petit verdot.

Patrick Lambert's vineyards are located in Cravant-les-Coteaux, just 8 km from Chinon, renowned for producing some of the finest wines in the Chinon appellation. He cultivates 6.5 hectares of land, all classified as organic. Lambert's red wines reflect the classic Chinon style, showcasing the full fruitiness and deep texture of Cabernet Franc. His marvelous rosé demonstrates a light touch, allowing his wines to develop their own unique character.

This selection (above reserve) from the estate vineyard has the sort of raisin and prune aromas that suggest super-ripe fruit. It's tannic and chewy, a style more reminiscent of Shiraz than most Pinot Noirs, and the finish brings the heat.

An inventive cuvée from Stéphane Sérol's imagination, for the pleasure of his friends. What a success! A blend of Gamay, Syrah and a hint of Grenache from various terroirs around France, it's a skilful blend of fruity, peppery notes, with a juiciness that's almost unique.

A decent introduction to Australian Grenache, a bit simple and one-dimensionally cherry-fruited but clean, supple and easy to drink despite plenty of body, with just a bit of warmth on the finish.

Palate: Velvety smooth tannins, well-balanced acidity, and a long, lingering finish with a touch of spice.

The Brunello Di Montalcino is fragrant with incense, rose petals, red raspberry, and blood orange. Elegant, with fine tannins, it is approachable already in its youthful stage. Its refreshing acidity and wonderful dusty earth minerality make it a very pleasing wine to drinking now or over the next 10 years.

Nose: Aromas of ripe black cherry, raspberry, and plum, with hints of violet and baking spices.

Taste: Rich and velvety on the palate, with flavors of dark berries, black currant, and a touch of cola.

Palate: Well-balanced acidity, silky tannins, and a long, lingering finish with notes of vanilla and oak.

As so often with Lafite, it is power that marks this wine. That, and density of texture. The additional element in this vintage, and at this stage of the wine's development, is a dominant wood element. The vanilla and tannins from the wood match well with the concentrated tannins of the fruit, which is dark, dense and tight. This is a wine for long-term aging: in 15 years this will have superb richness.
