Margaux shows us the elegance and feminine side of Bordeaux. This second label of Chateau Brane Cantenac, a Second Growth of Bordeaux is a blend of 65% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Already silky and very promising, it expresses black fruit aromas of blackberry and fleshy cherry mixed with elegant toast, smoke, and vanilla. The tannins are refined and balanced and is absolutely in the drink window.

Beautiful ruby colour . Ripe and fairly intense bouquet of crunchy red fruit (cherry). Well-integrated oak flavours. Smooth on the palate, the wine reveals excellent fruits with plenty of rich tannin.

The 2016 Château Duhart-Milon is a highly-rated, elegant 4th Growth Pauillac blend (typically ~67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot) featuring a deep, dark ruby color. It offers intense aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, and violets. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky, well-integrated tannins, excellent freshness, and a long, savoury finish. 

Travaglini Gattinara DOCG is a classic, elegant Italian red from Piedmont, made from 100% Nebbiolo, known for its deep garnet color, complex aromas of red fruit (cherry, raspberry), floral notes (roses, violets), earthy hints (leather, forest floor, mineral/iron), and spicy undertones (licorice, cinnamon). "According to Technical Director Eric Kohler, the 2024 Lafite-Rothschild was picked from September 23 to October 7 and underwent a short vinification—less than three weeks—plus a gentle extraction. The blend includes 16% vin de presse. It has an understated and typical Lafite nose with crushed stone infusing the black fruit, black olive tapenade and marine scents. It comes across as statesmanlike, which is just how you want your First Growth, even in a tricky vintage like this. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh saline notes on the entry. Tensile from the start, this has very impressive focus and is a tad more peppery than previous vintages. This is an assured Lafite-Rothschild with a very seaweed/Japanese wakame-tinged finish. Very promising and one of the very few "cerebral" Left Bank wines in 2024."

The color is concentrated, intense. Aromas of fresh black currant, sweet and ripe, bring great intensity to the wine's fruity youthfulness. Careful barrel aging shows well. This 2010 vintage is fresh and powerful on the palate, with an evolution focusing on tight and firm tannins. The mid-palate is very fleshy, finishing on a slightly dry note produced by the wine's youth and the harvest's maturity. This wine has great power with very good aromatic length. Grapes harvested at full ripeness give fruity retro-olfactive aromas which fully express the potential of Pavie's terroir. Wait at least another five to 10 years, and this wine will make a memorable meal all the more special.

An exceptional wine, the ideal balance between freshness and power, fleshy structure and supple tannins.The nose is slightly smoky, with black fruits, periwinkles and wild blackberries enhanced by pepper and cinnamon. The palate is powerful and peppery, with a full, round palate and a tangy finish that brings finesse and lightness.

The story of Maison Jadot began with vines and the purchase of a Premier Cru site in 1826. Three decades later in 1859 the family-owned domaine was completed. Louis Jadot also became contributed to the renown of Burgundy by becoming the first negociant, with a focus on selling these unprecedented wines in the Northern European markets with his descendants following in his footsteps.

The Les Boucherottes vineyard covers 8.5ha and has a deep clay soil that adds a lush quality to the the wines. As such, this is a full-bodied aromatic Pinot Noir that is plump and round with a dense structure. The aromas of raspberry and plum mingle with rosehip, raw cocoa and spice. It is a classic expression of the Louis Jadot style, which emphasizes balance, elegance, and terroir-driven wines.

Decoy Sauvignon Blanc is a single-varietal wine made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grapes sourced from premium vineyards in Sonoma County, California. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh and vibrant character. Decoy Sauvignon Blanc has a pale straw colour with aromas of citrus, melon, and tropical fruit. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing with flavours of grapefruit, lime, and passion fruit. The wine has a bright acidity and a clean, zesty finish.

This wine is ideal for pairing with seafood, salads, and light appetizers.

Carter Vineyard is located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA on volcanic mother rock. Fruit focused. Darker blue and black fruits of cassis, blackberry and dried blueberry supported by firm acidity and moderate tannins.

Chateau Canon-la-Gaffeliere is a Premier Grand Cru Classe, located in the St. Emilion appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux. Owned by the von Neipperg family, there are links to viticulture here since the 13th century. Canon -la-Gaffeliere is one of only two Bordeaux properties that is Certified Organic. The 2014 is a red blend of 55% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of preserved blackberry, fig and black currant. The palate is medium-bodied with good structure and a spicy finish.

Chateau Cos-d'Estournel is a second growth in the Saint Estephe appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux. The Chateau covers 69ha separated from first growth Chateau Lafite along the southern edge, by the stream between St. Estephe and Pauillac. This red blend is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot that is multi-faceted, delivering aromas of cinnamon, truffle, coffee and wild plums with a deep core of velvety tannins, full bodied and fantastic structure. The color is golden, with some green reflections. Among the floral and fruity aromas, almond and ripe grapes dominate. On the palate, the wine is refreshingly pleasant, ethereal in its lightness. Long and refreshing aftertaste.

A high percentage (75%) of new wood has given this wine a very fine polished character. Along with the structure, it has brought out impressive aromas of black fruits, cinnamon spice and power. The wine is has a fresh black-fruit aftertaste.

The wine displays a medium gold color. On the nose, it is harmonious, offering aromas of mango, yellow apple, and citrus fruit. The palate is rich and round, with a harmonious character and a long, fresh finish.

This wine is light in colour, featuring spicy, floral, cherry, and licorice aromas. It opens with a dry, savoury attack with sour cherry, smoky, peppery, and celery salt notes, complemented by soft and round tannins. Flavours of blackberry, blueberry, and dark chocolate balance the mid-palate, enhanced by a touch of oak from barrel ageing. The finish is light, with lingering notes of plum and violets.

Nebbiolo is not known for making sparkling wine, but it has all the characteristics to make it into a great sparkling. This is 100% Nebbiolo in a delicate shade of pink with a nose of strawberries, and small red berries with cream on a brioche bun. Delicate perlage and bright acidity on the palate along with juicy red berries and hints of orange zest make this a pleasant bubbly.

Nose: Intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and cherry, with hints of cedar, tobacco, and vanilla.

Taste: Rich and full-bodied, with flavors of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberry and plum, accompanied by notes of spice, licorice, and dark chocolate.

In the glass, this wine presents a harmonious and easy-drinking character, boasting a fresh and intense taste accompanied by a floral bouquet. Notes of apple and lemon add to its aromatic profile. On the palate, it exhibits persistence, with a notable minerality that contributes to its overall pleasantness.

Rich ruby red. Spicy, vivid and inviting nose of rich cassis fruit and ripe cherry with Mediterranean herbs in the background. Pithy and juicy on the palate, mouth-filling with clear fruit and long, precise finish.

Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2018 reveals a deep, almost black colour. The nose is delicate, with notes of black fruits and a hint of subtle, well-integrated wood. The palate is generous and full, with powerful and luscious tannins. The balance is rich and harmonious with tension.

Pristine, attractive fruit with perfume and freshness. Dark-berry and plum notes, as well as cassis and brambleberries, define the character of both nose and palate. The tannins are saturated in ripe dark berries and plums and deliver a superbly fresh, shimmering, dark-fruited finish. Wow-factor is strong here in 2016.

Xavier Gerard is one of the young stars of the Northern Rhone. His father left him some prime land in the regions of Cote Rotie (including a tiny parcel in La Landonne), Condrieu and Saint Joseph. Although he is not certified, he practises organically in all his vineyards, and all of his wines are unfined and unfiltered. This is a blend of 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier, which makes its presence known with a touch of stone fruit among the ripe forest berries. Good concentration and smooth tannins, yet with high acidity that all lead to a long finish.

Aged for a minimum of five years, the Padelletti Brunello di Montalcino Reserva is a premium red wine that is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy. This wine is characterized by its deep ruby color, intense aromas of dark fruit, leather, and spice, and its full-bodied, complex flavor profile that is marked by notes of black cherry, tobacco, and vanilla. The wine is aged in oak barrels for three years, followed by two years of bottle aging, which gives it a smooth, velvety texture and a long, lingering finish. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, aged cheeses, and rich pasta dishes.

Exclusive to CLS, we don't often see Nebbiolo done in rose form, but the brother and sister team at Antoniolo of Lorella (whom this wine is named after)and Alberto have created this gorgeous rosato that is intense and fragrant with juicy red raspberries and violets. Initial mouth feel is soft but the acidity is high with a subtle spicy kick. Slight tannins and medium alcohol all rolled into a perfectly balanced wine. Only 50 more bottles left in the province, and they are here at CLS, so be sure to get your hands on one (or three, or...)

Located in Montalcino, these Super-Tuscan wines from Luce (Light) are named for the altitude and southern exposure of their vineyards. Cool, breezy nights preserve the aromatic complexities of the grape and make for slow, even ripening. The Lucente is made primarily from Merlot with the addition of Sangiovese. Intense and bright red, the nose opens with intense fruity hints of blackberry, plum and currant, enriched by toasted and vanilla nuances. On the palate it is full and enveloping, soft and elegant, with a persistent finish that displays a pleasantly sweet and fruity aftertaste.

The Cogno family has been making wine for four generations in Piedmont. Located in Novello (one of the 11 communes in which Barolo can be made), it is now being run by Elvio's daughter Nadia and her husband Valter Fissore, the current winemaker. Ravera is a powerful Nebbiolo that has enticing scents of rose, tobacco and perfumed berry, along with a palate of violet, raspberry compote, star anise and wild mint. he finish is complex with some spice notes. This wine will no doubt become better with age. 

Antoniolo Erbaluce di Caluso is a bright yellow wine with pale green reflections in the glass. The nose is very floral, with jasmine, green apple and apricot. The palate is crisp and very fine, elegant, with very tasty acidity. Strong mineral core, very refreshing.

This wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese and small amounts of complementary grape varieties, all of which are handpicked and undergo a fermentation and maceration process.

On the nose, this wine exhibits intense aromas of ripe red fruit, with hints of spice and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a good balance of acidity and tannins. Flavors of cherry, plum, and a hint of vanilla are present, with a long and persistent finish.

Full and round on the palate with notes of minerality, spices and hazelnut. It is fresh and pleasing in the first two to three years with seven years aging potential.
