Margaux shows us the elegance and feminine side of Bordeaux. This second label of Chateau Brane Cantenac, a Second Growth of Bordeaux is a blend of 65% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Already silky and very promising, it expresses black fruit aromas of blackberry and fleshy cherry mixed with elegant toast, smoke, and vanilla. The tannins are refined and balanced and is absolutely in the drink window.

The captivates your focus with its showy display of flowers, crushed rocks, black, red and blue fruit, espresso and thyme. It takes a bit of coaxing and patience, but there is an incredible level of depth, purity, refinement, and vibrancy at play here on the palate as the wine gently coats your palate with its layers of salt infused, black and dark red fruits. The deep seamless finish crosses the 60-second mark and keeps on going as it continues showing off its essence of minerals of fresh berries. This could be the longest-lived wine of the vintage.

The nose displays plenty of menthol, blackberry and blackcurrant aromas. On palate, this medium-bodied wine is fresh and ripe with a long, clean, mineral and herbal finish. An incredibly food-flexible wine!

Deeply colored, this powerful, dense, rich and intense wine combines concentration and mouth-coating levels of fruit and acidity with ripe, dark red fruits and citrus in the endnote. Philippe and Valerie Bassereau (4th generation) have been managing the Chateau de la Graves estate since 1990 in one of the more unknown appellations of Bordeaux: Cotes de Bourg (on the right bank opposite of Margaux). Here they specialize in the ancient Colombard grape, blended with Semillon for the white wines, and Merlot dominated reds. This gorgeous white wine is a blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Colombard that blends acacia flowers, nutmeg spice and lemony citrus that pairs well with many seafood dishes, both grilled and raw!

This family owned Domaine has a prestigious location: they are the only Domaine located inside the walls of Clos Vougeot itself. They are the largest owners of land with 5.5ha, many of these with Pinot Noir vines that were planted in 1910. Although they always farmed organically, they received their certification in 2021. The 2019 Grand Cru is a cuvée that is the most faithful expression of Clos de Vougeot.Picked from different plots, the grapes are vinified and aged separately, then blended just before bottling. This 100% Pinot Noir is a powerful wine with penetrating aromas of cherry and spice. Powerful tannins and mouth filling, give this wine some time to settle down. Try from 2024 and beyond.

A blend of 71.4% Sauvignon Blanc and 28.6% Semillon, harvested 20th to 27th August and with an alcohol of 13.9%, the 2020 Haut Brion Blanc slowly unfurls to reveal notes of fresh pears, spiced apple slices, orange zest and lemongrass, plus touches of wet pebbles, dillseed and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate wears its lightly spicy apple and pear layers with grace and sophistication, supported by a racy backbone and subtly creamy texture, finishing long and mineral-laced. It will need time, but there's no doubting it's a knock-out.

The 2020 L'Eglise Clinet is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The Merlot was picked between the 11th and the 14th of September, and the Cabernet Franc was picked on the 16th of September. It has an alcohol of 14.4% and is aging in French oak barrels, 80% new. Displaying and opaque purple-black color, it needs a bit of swirling to reveal a fascinating array of earthy notes —black truffles, charcoal, mossy tree bark and fallen leaves—over a profound core of preserved plums, blackberry preserves and violets, with a waft of tapenade. The medium to full-bodied palate has exquisitely ripe tannins and bold freshness supporting the seductively ripe, black fruit layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant earth note.

Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc (Pessac-Leognan) - a blend of 72% Semillon and 18% Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon provides richness and acidity with the Sauvignon adding an array of citrus and stone fruits. White wine luxury - who says white wines can't age? Drink now to 2030.

The 2019 Pavie is a blend of 50% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it is a little subdued to start, soon opening out to deliver notions of black cherries, blueberry compote, and molten licorice, followed by hints of hoisin, tar, and cracked black pepper.

The colour is a quite deep garnet-red. The first impression on the nose is of ripeness, but not to excess. Fresh fruity aromas predominate. The attack is smooth, silky, and caressing on the palate. The middle palate is fullbodied and tight-knit, going into a long aftertaste. The fruity flavours are accompanied by discreet, elegant oak. The 2016 is fresh, fruity, remarkably well-focused and well-structured.

Without a doubt, Chateau Troplong Mondot has one of the most enviable and unique terroirs on the St. Emilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Gerard Raphet, along with his daughter Marion, farms 12 ha of land with vineyards in Morey St. Denis, Vougeot, and Gevry-Chambertin, and most of the plots have a vine age of 60-100 years. This important, and respected appellation in Burgundy is known for delivering deeply perfumed wines with notes of plums, berries, earth and spice. The finish is long with musky perfume and spice.

This wine is from a contiguous parcel that sits astride the Clos Prieur du Haut (classified 1er Cru) and the Clos Prieur du Bas (classified as a village wine); rather than create two tiny cuvées, the domaine prefers to blend the two to make an extra-fine village wine from the lieu-dit “Clos Prieur”. Harmand-Geoffroy owns a bit less than a half-hectare of vineyards in Clos Prieur and the vines therein were planted between 50 and 85 years ago. In our opinion, this is one of the finest village wines available from Gevrey; it is elegant yet powerful with a compelling density and ripe, sweet tannins.

The Château Roubine Lion & Dragon Rosé is a rosé wine made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Tibouren grapes grown in the Côtes de Provence AOP of the Provence wine region in France. The Grand Cru is a powerful wine with a structure similar to Côte de Nuits wines. The vineyard orientation allows to elaborate a wine with silky tannins and harmonious acidity. Les Grèves is a South east exposure vineyard based on a siliceous soil. This gives power and delicacy to the wine.

Les Charmots is a lieu-dit in the north of the village of Pommard. The soils are clay and limestone-based and add a structure to this bolder red Burgundy. The vines have an average age of 100 years and the wines from here are among some of the best in Pommard. This 100% Pinot is expressive and charming with red berry spice notes.

The roots of Domaine Parent date back to the 17th century. Currently the domaine is being run by the 12th generation - Anne Parent and her sister Catherine Fages-Parent. Anne is self-taught, following the lunar cycle and principles of biodynamics to express all the peculiarities of each plot. The small 1.3ha site of Les Croix Noires is located just south of Pommard village. Strong, yet elegant, this Pinot Noir is well-balanced in structure between wood/tannins and acidity.

Les Millandes premier Cru is an east facing sit and close to the GC of Clos de la Roche, growing 100% pinot noir. The soils are the same in both sites, resulting in similar wines. Les Millandes is always supple and seductive with dusty chocolate notes, along with the typical aromas of red berries, warm barking spices and earth. The tannins are structured, yet fine.

Bright ruby colour, open on the nose with powerful aromas of red fruit enhanced by toasted nuances. Well-structured and firm on the palate, it possesses stylish tannins. Its natural freshness gives a nice length to the wine.
