Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Crots is a red wine from the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, France. The wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Les Crots vineyard, which is known for producing complex and elegant wines. On the nose, the wine offers aromas of red berries, cherries, and a hint of spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with flavors of raspberry, blackcurrant, and a touch of earthy minerality. The tannins are firm and well-structured, providing a long and satisfying finish. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to a decade to allow its flavors to further develop.

Its aromas are intense and elegant. Cabernet Franc brings sweet spices, black pepper and light notes of eucalyptus and thyme. Malbec brings notes of ripe black fruits, blackberries and black cherries. The oak aging gives a touch of chocolate and vanilla to blend.

Founded in 1864 by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov, what we now call Smirnoff was the first vodka to use charcoal filtration in the distillation process. This charcoal filtration produces a spirit that is ideal for mixing because of its smooth and clean palate; perfect in a Moscow Mule.

Seguin-Manuel has undergone a major rejuvenation since its acquisition by Thibaut Marion in 2004, 180 years after its foundation in 1824. Coming from a ten-generation family of winegrowers, Chanson Père & Fils, Thibaut started his career -- and honed his skills for seven years -- at the family winery in Beaune. Today, he puts his experience, passion and energy at the service of the great wines of Burgundy. The range has thus been considerably extended through the acquisition of new vineyards et new grape suppliers. Every effort has been made at Seguin-Manuel to let the wines express their natural balance and each cuvée is crafted with the intention of reflecting its terroir with panache. Seguin-Manuel's vineyards are grown organically with no use of chemicals, certified since 2015. "Les Cazetiers" typically shows a dark purple colour. The bouquet is precise, stylish and intense. Black fruit aromas are mingled with a hint of toasted and spicy notes. It is both powerful and precise with fine and elegant tannins. Very long aftertaste. To be paired with a leg of lamb, braised ham or a matured cheese. The aging potential of this wine indicates its best after 7 to 10 years, and more than 15 years for the great vintages.

This is rich and deep with intense, concentrated and juicy cassis fruits joined by a touch of sweet liquorice, dark chocolate and charred oak edging. I like the balance here. The history of Chateau Duhart-Milon is not as well known as it should be. In the 18th century the wines of Milon became the "second" wine for Chateau Lafite. The 1855 classification awarded Duhart-Milon the only 4th growth in Pauillac, recognizing it for the quality of its soil. Sometime between 1830-1840 35 acres was left to the Casteja family who subsequently possessed a 99 acre vinyard name Duhart-Milon. Over the years the property changed hands many times and suffered a decline in the quality of the wines. The property was acquired in 1962 by the Rothschild family who totally overhauled the vineyards and brought back the quality of the wine as a 4th growth. This 2011 is a red blend from Pauillac in Bordeaux that is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot, this is a medium bodied wine with finesse and purity showing ripe berries, tobacco, spice and leather with an excellent freshness on the palate. This wine is ready to drink now, and should age for a few more years yet.

Number Juan Reposado is a premium 100% blue agave tequila, aged for nine months in a blend of French and American white oak barrels, producing a full-bodied spirit with a, smooth finish. Founded by comedians Ron White and Alex Reymundo, it offers flavor notes of caramel, vanilla, and cooked agave with a, light, smoky finish.

Masi Mezzanella Amandorlato Recioto is a complex, ruby-red Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG wine from a single vineyard in Italy, characterized by its unique bitter-sweet almond aftertaste and notes of prunes, dried fruits, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. Made using the appassimento technique of drying grapes, it is a velvety, full-bodied, sweet wine that balances richness with acidity, offering a multifaceted experience. It is best served at 15–18°C (59–64°F) and pairs well with rich meats, aged cheeses, and dark chocolate desserts.

Take Ancestor Vines (planted in 1894), a great vintage, experienced winemaking. Add 30 months of aging in American and French oak, resulting in the stunning 2018 Command Single Vineyard Shiraz. Boasting fabulous density and concentration, this full-bodied effort is still almost embryonic in its development, with tarry, mocha, yet lifted notes accenting intense blackberry fruit; a rich, supple yet structured mouthfeel, and a long, mouthwatering finish. Once it hits its stride in a few years, it should drink well for 20 years or more.

Château des Quarts was created in 2012 through a joint partnership between two old friends, Dominique Lafon and Olivier Merlin.

For over a decade, Olivier had tasked himself with sourcing and making wine from the best sites within Pouilly-Fuissé and bottling them under his own label. After buying grapes from Clos des Quarts for several vintages, he was first approached with the news that it was for sale. Having been already convinced of the terroir's integrity he jumped on the opportunity.

The vineyard is located in Chaintré, the southernmost village of Pouilly-Fuissé. At just over 2 hectares, the oldest vines are almost a century old and are planted on clay-limestone soils.

Barbacan Sforzato 2018 is a red wine from the Valtellina subregion of Lombardy, Italy. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes (known locally as Chiavennasca), the wine undergoes a unique drying process for several months prior to fermentation, resulting in a concentrated and complex flavor profile. It has a deep garnet color and a complex aroma with notes of dark fruit, such as black cherry and blackberry, along with hints of spices and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich, with flavors of dark fruit, leather, and earth, and a long and persistent finish. The wine is typically paired with hearty meat dishes and aged cheeses.

The Colpetrone Antica Chiusina Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a full-bodied red wine that offers intense aromas of dark fruit, leather, and spice. On the palate, it is rich and complex with flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and plum, as well as notes of tobacco and oak. The tannins are firm yet well integrated, providing structure and balance to the wine. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but will also age beautifully over the next several years.

This 100% Timorasso is native to the Tortona area in Piemonte. The ancient name is Derthona and often seen on the labels. Before nearing extinction, this grape was brought back to life by Walter Massa, knowing there was great potential. The grape ages remarkably well and will resemble a dry Riesling with five years of age or more. While the Costa Del Vento will be rounder, the Sterpi will be more mineral and sinewier, although elegant. Decant for best tasting experience.

This is a balanced and harmonious Solengo with a nose of spice and berries. It is velvety on the palate with great structure and a long finish.

Marguet Shaman Blanc NV Zero Dosage is a Champagne made by Benoit Marguet using organic and biodynamic farming practices. It is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, and is aged on lees for at least 18 months. The wine has no added sugar, resulting in a zero dosage Champagne with a bone-dry, crisp taste. It has a delicate aroma with notes of citrus, green apple, and brioche, and a lively, refreshing acidity. This Champagne pairs well with seafood, shellfish, and light appetizers.

Intense bouquet of fruit and flowers combined with a delicate mineral hint. Rich and subtil wine with good crisp, which makes it very balanced. Good ageing potential.

Polished and well-structured red with a medium body and firm but creamy and broad tannins. Perfumed already, with sandalwood, blackberry and currant character. Crushed stones. Tea leaves, too. Firm and solid to the end. Very solid for the vintage. 59% cabernet sauvignon, 28% merlot, 10% cabernet franc, 1.5% carmenere and 1.5% petit verdot.

Chocolate shavings and smoked coffee bean on the nose, it's a vintage where you can't get away from the tannins, but here they have sinew and juice, like the best translation of the tannins in the year. This has a real purity of fruit (very low SO2 addition at Palmer) and the gourmet touch you want in Alter Ego. 45% of overall production. 3.73pH. Survived mildew better than in 2018 because of my experience in dealing with the conditions. August 15 to 29 for the harvest.

A left-bank Bordeaux blend that comprises 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 14% Petit Verdot and 8% Merlot, this Cabernet-dominant blend could be placed from the Washington Rocks area in a blind tasting fairly easily. It is terroir-driven, expressive on the nose, gorgeous on the palate and downright delicious. Let's start with the nose - imagine aromas of black plum, wild black currant, unsweetened chocolate, espresso powder, sweet toasted cinnamon and just a touch of cedar bark.
