Reflecting centuries of winemaking mastery, Chateau Beychevelle 2020 offers a structured palate with notes of cassis, spice, and cedar —an exceptional wine that captures the soul of its vineyard with every sip.

This is another property owned by the famous Rothschild family, acquiring this estate in 1970, embarking on an ambitious renovation of the vineyards. Vines were replanted, parcels were consolidated and technical improvements were made including the building of a new vat room. Chateau Clerc Milon is a Fifth Growth located in Pauillac that adjoins both Chateau Mouton and Rothschild. This 2019 is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Containing the highest amount of cabernet sauvignon since the 1980's, this is classic Pauillac with fresh cassis, red cherry and plum that has nuances of classic, lead pencil, cedar and tobacco. This can be enjoyed now with a decant but has the ability to age very well for the next 20 years.

This was aged in oak barrels for 10 months, and then drawn off and tightened in tanks for 2 months prior to bottling. This shares the neighbouring appellation's grandeur, with an expansive palate of crystalline lemon, perfumed white florals, Rainier cherry, ripe pear, and toast, bedded with a riveting buzz of stony minerality which drives through the lingering finish. Lovely balance of generosity and cut, this is drinking smartly now, and with time ahead. Great find.

Les 3 Petits Cochons Roses (The Three Little Pink Pigs) is a crisp, pale-pink rosé wine from Southwest France. Produced by Famille Laplace at Château d'Aydie, this dry, mineral-driven wine blends Tannat and other local grapes. It delivers fresh aromas of strawberry, white peach, and citrus.

Aromas of raspberry, juniper and freshly ground coffee emanate from this inky garnet colored wine. It has glossy tannins, with cooling herb flavors on the palate such as licorice, clove and menthol that are joined by black cherry and raspberry. One of Ksara's most internationally acclaimed wines. Decant at least one hour before drinking. Still good ageing potential. Good food companion, Ksara's winemaker James Palgé recommends game, but can also be enjoyed on its own.

Ripe aroma with abundant notes of pepper, blackberries, black plums and chocolate, all very concentrated and rich. Very good texture on the palate, with tannins that are still firm and that will ensure it lives on in the bottle. The excellent acidity gives it the virtue of being able to be tasted right away with great pleasure. It will always be an excellent bet.

This Syrah, crafted from the SH99 Syrah clone of the 'Karibib Vineyard' in the Polkadraai Hills, is a masterpiece for Syrah enthusiasts. With only the Syrah clone and a touch of sulfur, this wine embodies the essence of its vineyard. Hand-harvested fruit was fermented naturally in a concrete fermenter with skins and stems for 10 days, then aged in a 15hL concrete egg for 10 months with gross lees intact. Bottled without fining or filtration and minimal sulfur, it boasts a nose of red and black berries, rose, fynbos, and white pepper. The palate reveals exquisite poise and finesse with fruit purity, bright acidity, and powdery tannins. The Guigal Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde is a renowned red wine from the northern Rhône Valley. This blend primarily features Syrah, with a small amount of Viognier, which adds a layer of aromatic complexity. Expect rich, intense flavors of dark fruit, black pepper, and smoky bacon, alongside subtle floral notes. The wine is known for its robust structure, fine tannins, and a long, elegant finish. It’s a superb example of Cote Rotie’s signature style—powerful yet refined.

“Colibri” is Italian for hummingbird and considered a symbol of freedom. From a well-known region of Italy, from family-owned vineyards, the wines are not just non-alcoholic, but certified organic. This spumante has a beautiful coral pink colour. On the nose, it reveals scents of small red berries, honey and apple. Crisp palate with citrus character mixed with cranberries and raspberries. Good texture from the bubbles, and pleasant acidity that brings freshness and a firm finish.

Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, subtle rim brightening. Delicate liquorice, ripe red cherry fruit, some cassis and candied orange zest in the background. Medium complexity, delicate dried plums, fresh acidity, blackberry fruit on the finish, mineral aftertaste, already easy to drink.

Piekenierskloof's mountain vineyards, located near the Cederberg Wilderness Area, are renowned for producing exceptional Grenache from dry land bush vines. Neil discovered the oldest Grenache vineyard in the country that each year yields a limited amount of grapes. The vineyard produced consistently award winning Grenache since 2007. The alcoholic fermentation is initiated in stainless steel tank with the malolactic fermentation being completed in French oak barrels. The wine is aged for 14 months in a combination of new, 2nd and 3rd passage larger French oak barrels.The wine has inviting red berry and creamy strawberry flavours, complemented by a creamy texture and silky tannins. The oldest of these vines, planted in 1966 on their own roots, remain un-grafted and disease-free, contributing to the wine's elegance, finesse, and sweet fruit character. The region's extreme temperature variations, with hot days and cold nights, along with its Table Mountain sandstone and shale soils, further enhance the distinctiveness of the Grenache from this area. Light in colour, and although high(er) in alcohol, the wine is well-balanced. Put a slight chill on it for optimal flavour. Another great Neil Ellis wine. 

The wine region Carinena is located in the province of Zaragoza and is one of the oldest protected European production regions. It is the only region that actually gives the name to one of the main red grape varieties of Spain and southern France – Carinena and Carignan respectively. A high elevation vineyard and low yields produce an elegant expression of this grape variety. The fermentation takes place with wild yeasts. A soft extraction and light pressing ensure that the tannins are not too strong and are well integrated in the final blend. A beautiful expression of a rare 100% varietal Carinena.

In a deep crimson hue, this wine exudes lifted aromas of fresh dark chocolate, mocha, dark cherry, blackberry, and panforte, accompanied by subtle notes of liquorice and aniseed. On the palate, it offers a superb balance with abundant dark chocolate and blackberry fruits, supported by firm graphite tannins and a rich mid-palate. Well-integrated mocha and espresso oak notes add depth, leading to a long, chocolaty finish. This expressive wine showcases fruit complexity, oak integration, and density, making it a brilliant successor to the esteemed 2018 vintage. Comprising 97% Shiraz and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, it was matured for 19 months in 100% new American Hogsheads across Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, and Clare Valley. Best enjoyed from 2028 to 2060.

Little Ark is a project dedicated to promote quality vineyards of Greece using the best indigenous varieties. This rose is made with 100% Moschofilero and has elegant aromas of strawberries, cherries, tangerine and floral nuances. The palate is rich in the mouth with just enough sweetness to highlight the cherry fruit while toffee and jasmine remain in the long finish.
