On the glass, a pale salmon colour with an amber hue appears. On the nose, hints of flint, chalk and sea minerals are supported by suggestions of blood orange and strawberry. On the palate, notes fresh guava and green apples are brightened by a lively structure and a saline finish. Elegant and utterly refreshing.

Limited release 25-year single malt, matured in a mix of American oak, Fino sherry butts, bourbon barrel and Tawny Port cask. Expect complex aromas and flavours of chocolate, vanilla, orange marmalade with notes of ginger and dried fruit The palate is rich and creamy with a warm finish. Enjoy neat or with a splash of water.

Kicks off with a pretty violet note, followed quickly by warmed plum puree and blackberry compote. The finish is laced up with toasted vanilla and dark tea accents. Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Jaén.

Red fruits with very fresh red sparkles. Amazing tannin in such a young wine. Intensity and delicacy, endless freshness, silky and alive, full and caressing. Cocoa is seasoned with a delicate black fruit liqueur and notes of pink pepper.

One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate's most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades. I was surprised by just how youthful this wine tasted at age 12. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be around 4 to 5 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2050.

A blend of 44.7% Merlot and 55.3% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2020 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion has an alcohol of 14.3%. It rolls effortlessly out of the glass with seducing notes of warm black plums, black cherry compote and blackberry pie, plus suggestions of lavender, crushed rocks and underbrush with a hint of sassafras. The medium bodied palate is delicately played and refreshing, offering lots of soft spoken black fruit and earthy layers with a soft texture and seamless acidity, finishing with a spicy kick.

Critic tasting note: "This blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc is ripe and yeasty. It has perfumed fruit, although the fruit is ensconced in a bitter, nutty character. The acidity is intense, giving freshness at the end."

Francois Mikulski was born to a Burgundian mother and a Polish father. He spent many summers in Burgundy falling in love with the vineyards and the lifestyle. This certainly and easy going Pinot Noir that expresses notes of blueberries, cherris, plums with spice notes. Hints of mint with those red fruit notes on the palate offers charm and adds to the soft tannins. These are cult wines that you want to get your hands on.

"Solo Sole" means "only sun" in Italian and the grape Vermentino loves the sun soaked coast of Bolgheri in Tuscany and it embodies the colours, fragrances and flavours of these lands that lie so close to the sea. Notes of peach and apricot are accompanied by zesty acidity and that ever present Vermentino saline tang.

After long careers as a soldier and a nurse, Peter and Jane Clark bought a sheep paddock in the Awatere Valley of New Zealand's Marlborough and there they established Clark Estate and planted 20 acres of Sauvignon Blanc from scratch. The Clericus label is one of four labels reserved for their finest wines. This Sauvignon Blanc is powerful and concentrated, packed with ripe stone fruit flavours and layered with exotic tropical aromas created by the use of wild yeast and selective use of oak. Serralunga is one of the 11 villages that are allowed to have the name "Barolo" on the label. Located on soils of Serravalian, this thick clay-like soil allows for these wines to age for 35 years or more. Tenuta Cucco is a family owned winery with grapes for this wine coming from two cru: Bricco Voghera and Cerrati. Classic aromas of roses, undergrowth, licorice and spices. Tart cherries and spice dominate on the palate with good structure, intensity with a warm finish. A beautiful expression of Nebbiolo at an excellent price point!

Chianti DOCG Riserva Castello di Oliveto is a premium red wine produced in the Chianti region of Tuscany, Italy. This wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and other local grape varieties, which are carefully selected and handpicked from the vineyards surrounding the Castello di Oliveto estate. The wine is aged for at least two years in oak barrels, which gives it a complex and rich flavor profile. It has a deep ruby color and aromas of ripe red fruits, spices, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a firm tannic structure and a long, persistent finish. This wine is best enjoyed with hearty meat dishes, such as roasted lamb or beef, and aged cheeses.
