This family owned Domaine has a prestigious location: they are the only Domaine located inside the walls of Clos Vougeot itself. They are the largest owners of land with 5.5ha, many of these with Pinot Noir vines that were planted in 1910. Although they always farmed organically, they received their certification in 2021. This 2019 Pinot Noirs shows tightly packed black and red fruit accented with notes of violets, mineral, earth and wild herbs. Nose: The bouquet of the 2020 Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot from Domaine l'Enclos is delicate and mineral, its aroma gaining additional expression with oxygen contact. Fruity hints of apple, lemon, lemon zest, honeydew melon, vineyard peach and a hint of wild strawberry combine with lime blossom, heather and anise as well as freshly churned butter and brioche. Its elegant and multi-layered attack invites you to enjoy it.
Palate: Juicy, playful on the palate, its fine acidity, pronounced fruitiness and fine tannin make you think of grapefruit and lemon peel. A truly great Burgundy that still seems a little shy on the palate, a real long-distance runner with a chalky orientation. The patient connoisseur will be rewarded if he puts a few bottles aside, because the fineness will clearly catapult forward with further maturity. The impatient will best forget it opened for a few days in the fridge before drinking it with classics of French cuisine.

This comes from a selection of vineyards on very stony, chalky soils. With 20% whole clusters in the fermentation and 20 months in casks, this wine is mute on the nose—it has nothing at all to say, but the palate sure does. It's extremely fruity and rich in acidity and freshness. The austerity is what defines the tannic structure here—a skeleton of tannins like a tense, steel network. A wine that goes far beyond the variety to speak of the place. A mountain wine.

MacNair’s Lum Reek is a range of blended malts produced by the GlenAllachie Distillers Company. Created by Billy Walker, this composition is built around peated Islay and Speyside whiskies, mixed with GlenAllachie single malt. The whiskies are drawn from a combination of Oloroso, virgin oak and red wine casks. Nose: a nice start on elegant smoke, tobacco leaves and hints of cedar wood, mixed with raisin sweetness, toffee and a good dose of vanilla. Plum jam. Cinnamon. Lemon zest. Hints of cocoa in the background. Maybe not hugely expressive – elegance is key here.

Taste: s layered combination of dry and sweet notes again. Peaches, marmalade and berries, some honey and dark chocolate. Some old leather and pleasant woody touches. Toffee. Pepper. The earthy smoke is present but never overpowering.

Finish: medium to long, more ashy and spicy with lingering cocoa.

Ben Nevis Distillery is a distillery in Scotland that is located at Lochy Bridge in Fort William and sits just at the base of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles, which rises to 4,409 feet above sea level. A coastal distillery in the Western Highlands, Ben Nevis draws its water from the Allt a'Mhuilinn which originates from two pools, Coire Leis and Coire na'Ciste. Founded in 1825 as an independent enterprise, it has been owned by Nikka Whisky Distilling of Tokyo, Japan, since 1989.
Nose: Treacle, strawberries and vanilla.
Palate: Sweet - with anise, Granny Smith apples and Kraft caramels.
Finish: Long and lingering with a rye spiciness and oak.

This Chateau in St. Emilion was purchased in 2011 by Clarence Dillon, and renamed to Chateau Quintus. The 'V' as used in Quintus is the Roman numeral 5 that characterises the slopes and plots of the vines facing four cardinal points and bowing before the sky, yet also depicting the 5th winery owned within the Domaine Clarence Dillon family. The dragon statue with a 6-metre wingspan that sits atop the promontory, has become a symbol for the estate and is depicted on all the bottles of Chateau Quintus. The 2015 was warm and sunny and with this ideal weather, has become one of the greatest vintages of the Right Bank. A red wine blend of 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc, the nose has a rich, complex bouquet of blackberries, currants and spicy plums with a touch of graphite. Perfectly balanced with plush tannins, stony minerality and a long finish. Ready to drink, but can be aged for another 10-15 years.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: It is very intense, almost impenetrable, with a very dark background and a deep red rim.

Nose: When you bring it closer to the nose, many layers appear superimposed. The black fruits stand out with the memory of perfectly ripe plums and blackberries. It has a large mineral component that gives depth to the wine with memories of the smell of Chinese ink. The smell of the humid earth and the aromatic herbs in the shade of the pines appeared. There is a huge balance in which oak accompanies in the distance.Delicate, long, suggestive and intense at the same time and topped with menthol notes of black cocoa.

Taste: Voluminous and full. With black fruit and cocoa, but also freshness. It remembers the landscape of the pine forest of La Horra with freshness after the rain.The tannins are of great quality and forge a feeling of power and elegance at the same time, being voluminous and aerial. A set of fruit, minerality, volume, length and freshness that forms a huge wine.Excellent to have with meat dishes.

A delightful fruity and light white wine displays wonderful, green apple and honeysuckle scents on the nose. The palate is rich in flavors of green and red apples in an off-dry style. Balanced with moderate acidity.

A third growth in the 1855 Classification, Chateau Desmirail is located in the Margaux appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux. The name of this Chateau is unique as the property does not bear the name of its original owner, Marguerite Rauzan du Ribail, but rather that of her husband, Jean-Baptiste Desmirail. It is also one of the few chateaux with an ancient "Medocain" system - a gravity operated vat room that is still well-preserved. The red blend consists of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and this 2014 is attractive and ready to drink now.

Winemaker Notes Intense, fresh and elegant nose, of vine peach, acacia blossom and honeysuckle mixed with mineral and smoky notes (quartz, silica). Giusti Riserva is our first trail of grappa aged in “barriques” previously used to hold local superior red wines and for which a new one-of-a-kind technique has been to treat the staves. Giusti Riserva grappa is a blend, that is, a grappa made up from several spirits made from different grape marcs of different vintages. In this case the grappa has been aged for 6 years. The one-wine Troncais oak barrels imaprt characteristic features to the product. The fullness of the flavour is enhanced by chocolate made with 65% cocoa, or by a sprinkling of orange peel and for those who really want to spoil themselves, with a good Cuban cigar.

A blend of the most sublime eaux-de-vie of Grande Champagne Cognac, the Tesseron Lot No 53 XO Perfection is composed of grapes from two varieties: the Colombarde and Ugni Blanc to give it dimension and character. Aptly named, it errs on perfection due to the undeniable finesse. This is to be expected of such a high quality, Premier Cru Cognac. For a cognac of this caliber, it offers extremely good value for money. This is a wonderfully complex, yet refreshing Cognac with lots of critical acclaim across the board. As an Extra Old Cognac, the Tesseron Lot 53 XO has been aged for over two generations in Limousin oak barrels. The bouquet of figs, chocolate and plum is rich and decadent, and you’re bound to fall in love.

The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from the Asinone vineyard is the flagship wine of Poliziano. After years of continual experimentation, this particular vineyard was identified as the one with the best quality potential. Asinone is well ventilated and has poor soil that gives the Sangiovese just the right vigor. Though Vino Nobile requires only 70% Sangiovese in the blend, this wine uses 95% to showcase the excellence of the Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese) from this vineyard.

The Tesseron Lot No 29 Exception is a well-aged blend, truly worthy of its name. A unique XO, made up of Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie - this Cognac’s maturation process has passed through at least three generations of the Tesseron family who have dedicated their passion and love for Cognac through the family business. With fresh and floral fragrances, Lot No 29 unveils velvety aromas of mocha chocolate alongside dried fruit and hints of honey. Its prevailing rancio is characterized by the decades spent in old oak barrels - a true jewel of the Grande Champagne cru.

Nose: Heady, decadent, layers of honey, figs, plums & exotic fruit laced with oak. Sumptuous and silky, this Cognac retains freshness and vitality.
Palate: Supremely elegant, combining dried fruit with hints of mocha and cocoa, refreshed by floral aromatics. Extremely well balanced and complex, with marmalade notes emerging on a persistent finish.

Like many Chateaux, Palmer was always owned by families. The Pereire brothers purchased the property in 1853 working hard to bring the estate up to first growth status in time for the famous 1855 Classification. It was ranked a Third Growth, although widely recognized as among some of the greatest wines of Bordeaux. Now owned by several families of Bordeaux, English and Dutch heritage since 1938, these families have always given priority to quality and authenticity. A typical blend of almost equal parts Cabernet and Merlot, this 2019 is a red blend of 53% cabernet sauvignon, 43% merlot and 4% petit verdot, this elegant Margaux is beautifully defined with pencil lead infused black fruit of cassis and blackberry, spice, crushed rock and pressed flowers. Juicy, yet creamy on the palate, it offers substantial tannins and a beautiful long finish. Drink from 2025-2049

"This great St.-Estephe estate has turned out a succession of brilliant wines. The 2005, a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, has put on weight over the last year. An opaque ruby/purple hue is accompanied by a sweet nose of earth, smoke, cassis, and cherries as well as a textured, full-bodied mouthfeel. While the tannin is high, there is beautifully sweet fruit underlying the wine's structure. It will require 8-10 years of cellaring after release, and should drink well for three decades."

Soft and velvety in the mouth, concentrated with textured and complexity. Finishes fresh and long.

Kunde Estate grown Zinfandel is a charmer with its aromas of blueberries, violets and raspberry preserves and ripe flavors of blackberry and plum with a spicy white pepper note. Juicy and fruit forward, this vintage is marked particularly by its rich, lengthy finish.
Winemaker’s Comments “Zinfandel grown on the hillsides of the Sonoma Valley produces personality packed wines. The temperate climate and length of growing days offers enough heat to build fresh fruit flavors without being over ripe but still develops hints of pepper spice. I feel the hills of the Kunde Estate allow that perfect blend of maturity that still expresses complexity. This vintage offers a great deal of fruit forward opulence from a wine without any residual sugar.”

Japan has come a long way with making whisky with many master distillers taking their training right in Scotland and importing the Scottish heather for peat making. There is much quality here in Japanese whisky and dad would no doubt be surprised and delighted with this one, aged in a Sherry cask to give it nutty, toasty aromas and flavours.

A 12 year old Glen Grant single malt, launched in mid-2016 with a rather sleek and handsome new bottle design. Still shows off the classic Glen Grant style - honey'd malt, sugared almond and ripe apple notes galore!

Benefiting from the same care as Château de Camensac, it is blended from carefully selected batches, specifically for the second wine, in accordance with its identity. Soft tannins, ripe fruit, elegance, and always excellent value! Château de Camensac's second wine is predominantly Merlot, subtly complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon.

The fruit is highlighted and offers an elegant aromatic palette.When young, the wine develops a crisp density that becomes patinated with a beautiful complexity as the years pass.

Nose: A rose bed after a summer shower, white pepper, rhubarb tart, salted caramel, popcorn, fudge, marshmallows, cherries, vine tomatoes.

Palate: White pepper, orange zest, almond, dates, lemon sherbet, liquorice, gentle maltiness and warm chocolate brownie.

Finish: Warm spices that gently goes to leave a cherry biscuit note.

La Storia Merlot is and has been a consistently fine example of the ability of this classic Bordeaux variety to make solid, tasty, and age-worthy wines.

The main aromas and flavours are dark cherry, plums, a bit of black liquorice, and herbs. The new oak barrels contribute a touch of vanilla, brown sugar, cocoa dust, and toast.

On the mouth the wine is soft and viscous, balancing the acidity and the tannins well for such a young wine. The finish is long and soft with a suggestion of sweetness backed by ripe tannins.

Blend: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot 94 Points- Wine Enthusiast A solid effort, this is a wine with great fruit and firm structure to support it. Ripe and full in the mouth, it’s a firm and complex wine with a delicious juicy aftertaste.

93 Points- Wine Spectator This offers beguiling aromas of bergamot, roasted sandalwood and black tea, before giving way to a well-endowed core of plum, blackberry and raspberry reduction notes. The structure is remarkably fine-grained, showing seamless integration through the long finish. A really great showing.

93 Points -Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2012 Cantenac Brown, one of the most impressive Margaux I tasted, is the complete package – from the initial attack to the layered, rich finish. Dense ruby/purple-hued with notes of licorice, mulberries, black currants, asphalt and spring flowers, this medium to full-bodied, concentrated, rich effort does not reveal an excess of rusticity or astringency.
