Nebbiolo is not known for making sparkling wine, but it has all the characteristics to make it into a great sparkling. This is 100% Nebbiolo in a delicate shade of pink with a nose of strawberries, and small red berries with cream on a brioche bun. Delicate perlage and bright acidity on the palate along with juicy red berries and hints of orange zest make this a pleasant bubbly.

Profumi della Costiera Limoncello distinguishes itself by eschewing additives and preservatives, sourcing its lemons exclusively from the pristine Amalfi coast of Campania near Ravello. Unlike conventional methods, they incorporate twice the usual amount of lemons, ensuring a heightened intensity of flavor and aroma. The result is a delightful Limoncello boasting vibrant notes of lemon zest, meringue, and sweet apple blossom, capturing the essence of the sun-drenched Amalfi coast in every sip.

From one of the "Famiglia di Amarone" this light, refreshing Valpolicella Classico shows tart strawberries, cranberries and fresh earth and wild herbs on the nose while tart red fruits dominate the core of the palate with hints of sweet tobacco, cherrywood and dried herbs on the savory and vibrant finish. Ilauri Chiola Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC is a rosé wine produced in the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo subregion of Abruzzo, Italy. The wine is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, which are hand-picked and vinified using a short maceration process to obtain its beautiful pink color. The wine has a fruity and floral aroma with notes of cherry, raspberry, and rose petals. On the palate, it is fresh, lively, and well-balanced with a pleasant acidity and a long finish. This wine is a perfect pairing for seafood, grilled vegetables, and light pasta dishes.

"LVNAE is named after the ancient "Portus Lunae" (the Port of the moon), one of the most important cities and ports of the ancient Roman Empire. It was established in 1966 by Paolo Bosoni, who transformed the winery by combining farming wisdom and business acumen. He is now joined by his children Debora and Diego. Lunae currently represents the largest winery in Liguria with an annual total production of approx. 780,000 bottles and a total of 85Ha. 50Ha are family-owned vineyards in the hills of Luni and Castelnuovo Magra and, in part, on the plain surrounding the ruins of the ancient city of Luni. 15Ha are on long-term leases and the other 20ha are from approximately 150 local growers who, supported by the company's technical staff, contribute their small grape production, keeping alive traditions and the unique quality of the wine.
The focus is on Vermentino which is distinguished by a selection of different vines and vinification and perfectly reflects the nature of the soil and unique climate which favors crisp, acidic, mineral whites and fruity, fresh reds. The red wines are Sangiovese-based blended with local varietals such as Massareta, Pollera Nera and Sangiovese (Sangiovese is very widespread in this area due to its proximity to Tuscany - 2 km only to the border)."

This aromatic white wine comes from one of Italy's smallest wine regions. Known as the "Italian Riviera", Liguria is a narrow coastal strip that lies between the Ligurian Sea and the Maritime Alps and the Apennines. An area with little cultivable land, most of Liguria's wines are consumed locally. Owned by the Bosoni family, Cantine Lunae is one of the few Ligurian producers that has a presence in international markets. Based in the eastern Ligurian appellation of Colli di Luni, the winery is renowned for its Vermentino dominated wines. A wonderful match for Liguria's exceptional seafood driven cuisine, Vermentino is known for its balanced acidity and minerality. For the Labianca, Cantine Lunae added 20% Malvasia to the blend to boost the wine's aromatics. Aged on the fine lees for 4 months in steel tanks, it displays tropical notes of passionfruit, mango, and white peach.

Mastroberardino is definitely one of the founding fathers of winemaking in Campania, and put grapes like Fiano and Aglianico on the world wine map. Also from the quality region of Taurasi, the Historia is made from grapevines that are over 50 years old. Complex, broad, intense and persistent, it is full of violet, blackberry, black cherry, chocolate and vanilla with hints of earthy mushroom notes. Great structure, yet soft tannins in perfect balance. An absolutely stunning wine that will age for 50 years and beyond at a fraction of the price of Barolo! Collectors should always add aglianico to their cellar portfolio.

From the Bolgheri DOC, the Poggio Al Tesoro is owned by the Allegrini family of Valpolicella fame. Named after the Seggio river that crosses the vineyard, it is a blend of 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. The nose exhibits lovely fresh, crunchy fruit, enriched with mineral and spicy notes. The palate is medium bodied with hints of red berries and elegant silky tannins. A great wine for the price point!

With 170ha of vineyards in the Collio region of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Jermann has four generations of winemaking under its belt with Silvio Jermann the current visionary and winemaker. This wine made from 100% Pinot Nero, is elegant with notes of sweet red fruit and slight herbaceousness, and perhaps more full bodied that its French counterpart. Pinot Nero from Italy is a thing of beauty!

Chiaretto is the term used for rosati crafted by the shores of Lake Garda. The Gorgo winery practices oraganic winemaking and this fresh and vibrant wine made from the Valpolicella grapes of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara offers aromas of strawberry, raspberry and peach. The palate has high acidity balanced nicely with the small red berries, red apples and peaches.

With about 19 different Lambrusco names in the family, one of the most common is Salomino. This wine is made from Lambrusco Salomino for the tannins, roundess and black fruit it also has a touch of Sorbara, for freshness and acidity. A perfect pairing with parmigiano cheese drizzled with Balsamic vinegar, Tagliatelle with Bolognese or Gnoccho Fritto, the local dish of deep fried bread with prosciutto.

Located in Calabria, the toe of Italy's boot, Cirò is the only DOC of the region for red wines, it is made from 100% Gaglioppo. Juicy and vibrant, it exudes aromas of small red berries, citrus zest, and earthy underbrush notes with a hint of minerality. Ready to drink and enjoy with your barbecued burgers this summer!

This historic vineyard located right in the village of Barolo, is often considered one of the best, if not the most famous. Light in colour, it is aromatic and rich with fruit and floral fragrances, and strong warm spiced scents. Light, elegant, feminine, and velvety, this 100% Nebbiolo will age for many years. An elegant and velvety wine, it is characterized by its structure and balance. Gorgeous.

Antoniolo Erbaluce di Caluso is a bright yellow wine with pale green reflections in the glass. The nose is very floral, with jasmine, green apple and apricot. The palate is crisp and very fine, elegant, with very tasty acidity. Strong mineral core, very refreshing.

Mionetto Prosecco Brut is a sparkling wine with a straw yellow color and a delicate and persistent perlage. On the nose, it has aromas of citrus, green apple, and acacia flowers. The palate is dry, with flavors of green apple and peach, and a crisp acidity that makes it refreshing and easy to drink. The finish is clean and lingering, with notes of citrus and white flowers.

This is a red wine from the Tuscany region of Italy. The wine is made primarily from the Sangiovese grape variety, which is the traditional grape of Chianti. The wine is made from grapes plucked from the tips of the bunch only. 60 months on the lees gives the wine a biscuity, bready, brioche flavour combined with a whiff of cherry, rose, violets, and Italian herbs. The name "Kaskal" means "the road that leads to the king" - a path to explore the potential of a noble vine (Nebbiolo)

The Vietti Colli Tortonesi Timorasso Derthona, aged in a mix of oak and ceramic tile-lined cement, is a wine with impressive tension and ample texture. Its contrasting elements create a broad, horizontal profile with wide appeal. The bouquet reveals notes of orchard fruit, saffron, honey, and crushed stone. Medium-bodied, this wine will evolve gracefully over the next 10 years, developing more complex aromas of minerals, beeswax, and dried fruit.

With its usual deep ruby red colour, Ornellaia 2020 stands out on the nose with ripe red fruits and delicate vanilla and gentle tobacco notes. Upon tasting, the wine reveals itself to be rounded and velvety, making an enjoyable and engaging first impression that entices for a second sip. The tannins are dense yet elegant and the finish proves to be savoury and enduring.

A perfect summer red, this refreshing, light-bodied wine from Alto-Adige in northern Italy, is made with the indegenous Schiava (group of) grapes. Three grapes in this group, often co-planted can sometimes also be known as Vernatsch. The wine is packed full of bright red cherry, strawberry and sweet almond sensations. Thanks to soft acidity and supple tannins, it's an ideal wine to serve chilled and sip as an apéritif or pair with seafood. Your guests will enjoy this wine for the upcoming spring/summer season.

The nose of this wine is reticent at first but with a decant or time in the glass, elegant aromas of ripe red berries and blue fruits begin to shine through. Hints of clove, cinnamon and savory herbs complement the fruit on the nose. The palate is bright and fresh, with a pop of acidity that keeps the wine from being overpowering. Flavors of Bing cherry, fig and cooked plum shine but do not steal the show, finishing with a savory note. This wine will go great with braised or grilled meats and/or earthy vegetables.

Named for the Norman princess who lived around Cirò in the 11th century, the Mabilia is made from 100% Gaglioppo grapes. The juice is left on the skins for 24 hours, with only a delicate pink colour extracted, and the resulting wine being very fruity with notes of watermelon, red cherry, and roses. Fresh, lively, and fruity, this rosato is a great match for chicken, turkey and fish dishes.

Negro Amaro, a black grape grown in Puglia, the heel of Italy's boot, is often misspelled: unlike what is seen on many labels, it is two distinct words and should be written that way. Wines made with negro amaro are always dense, thick with blackberry, black cherry, licorice with clove and cocoa accents. Tenuta del Pajaru is Certified organic, using only natural yeasts and non-intervention winemaking, the wines express their sense of place. This historic label is made with 100% chardonnay and has a fresh and intense bouquet, with fruity notes of ripe golden apple, white flowers and a delicate fragrance of yeast, with 20 months ageing in the bottle to showcase the brioche and bread flavours.

Exclusive to CLS, we don't often see Nebbiolo done in rose form, but the brother and sister team at Antoniolo of Lorella (whom this wine is named after)and Alberto have created this gorgeous rosato that is intense and fragrant with juicy red raspberries and violets. Initial mouth feel is soft but the acidity is high with a subtle spicy kick. Slight tannins and medium alcohol all rolled into a perfectly balanced wine. Only 50 more bottles left in the province, and they are here at CLS, so be sure to get your hands on one (or three, or...)
