A decent introduction to Australian Grenache, a bit simple and one-dimensionally cherry-fruited but clean, supple and easy to drink despite plenty of body, with just a bit of warmth on the finish.

Red fruits with very fresh red sparkles. Amazing tannin in such a young wine. Intensity and delicacy, endless freshness, silky and alive, full and caressing. Cocoa is seasoned with a delicate black fruit liqueur and notes of pink pepper.

Nestled between Priorat and Monsant, the Cellar de Capcanes offers quality Catalan winemaking. Originally established as a co-operative in the 1930s when five families got together to vinify all the wine of this Priorat-area village, the Celler de Capcanes drew the attention of the wine world in the early nineties when they started to produce premium Kosher wines for the Jewish community in Barcelona. Made from a blend of tempranillo, garnacha, merlot, syrah and carignan, it's an easy drinking summer quaffer- an "all purpose" red.

AROMA:

Subtle perfume of apple, biscuits, spices, flowers and a suggestive sea breeze. Its close contact
with yeast triggers ripe fruit aromas with toasty, nutty backgrounds.

TASTE:

Its crunchy, vigorous feel, combined with the prolonged fruitfulness of its good-natured mild
acidity and a pleasing alcoholic voice give it endless possibilities for the discovery of dishes.

A small portion, about 12%, of the blend is made up of Viura to add a touch of lightness to the full-bodied Tempranillo that makes up the majority of this cuvée. The Tempranillo grapes are fermented in the winery's traditional carbonic maceration method in open concrete vats, resulting in a very fruit-forward wine with soft, well-integrated tannins. Maturing the wine in concrete vats for several months adds surprising depth and complexity. The grapes are from 40-year old vines. In the glass there is an inviting dark cherry colour with purple tinges. The aroma is expressive and refreshing with hints of violets, strawberries, and aromatic herbs. The finish is well rounded and elegant.

The producer describes the wine as having a dark red color with a high layer. The nose is intense and features black fruit and cherry aromas, with a prominent plum scent and hints of sweet spices. The aroma also includes notes of earth and minerals. The wood used in aging is subtle and mostly hidden behind the spices. The taste is described as wide, powerful, and delicate, with a pleasant combination of sweetness and freshness. The tannins are smooth and the wine has a silky texture with notes of black plums, chocolate, and a hint of cigar box. The wine is said to be from an excellent vintage.

With 16 months in cask, the Ribera del Duero offers excellent wines made from Tempranillo. Elegant and refined, this will age well- another 15 years easily.

Nada Que Ver Maturana Tinta is a rare, powerful 100% Maturana Tinta Rioja wine from Bodegas Martinez Alesanco, known for its intense dark cherry color, complex aromas of black fruit, violet, clove, coffee, and balsamic, plus a structured palate with velvety tannins, high acidity, and a long finish, offering unique character from a rediscovered grape variety with notes of spice and green pepper.

Fresh aromas of red fruit such as strawberries or cherry, with a floral touch. Round and fresh palate, which remind us of red fruits. It has a thin bubble and crown. The palate is fresh, cheerful and with a pleasant finish.

Reserva Heredad was created to mark style in the world of high-end sparkling wines. We elaborate it with the objective of offering an elegant and versatile cava. To do so, we select only the best wines from each vintage, which are then aged in the bottle in contact with their lees for more than 24 months. The aging ends when the expert gives the magic touch to each bottle with the “poignettage”, a twist of the wrist that intensifies the contact of the lees with the wine, thus giving a more complex bouquet.

Yzaguirre Reserva Rojo (Red Reserva) is a sophisticated Spanish sweet vermouth (18% ABV) aged for 12 months in oak barrels, resulting in a velvety, complex, and mahogany-red profile. It balances intense woody, spicy (cinnamon/clove), and ripe fruit notes with a long, herbaceous finish, making it ideal for high-end cocktails or enjoying on ice.

Pingus is a renowned red wine from Ribera del Duero, Spain, known for its high quality and cult status. It's made from 100% Tempranillo grapes and is produced by Dominio de Pingus, a small winery established in 1995 by Peter Sisseck. Pingus is considered one of the most sought-after wines in the world and has received top ratings from critics. The winery also produces a second label, Flor de Pingus, as well as a younger wine called PSI.

Fragrant on the nose with dominant red fruits, floral, and balsamic notes, this wine is fresh, unctuous, and fruity with a balanced mid-palate. Made with 100% garnacha, this wine is also VEGAN for those looking for that alternative. 

This is a beautiful wooden box with shimmery blue lettering that holds 3 different vintages - 2 each of 2008, 2011 and 2018. 

Valenciso (founded in 1998) may be young in years, but founders Luis Valentin and Carmen Enciso (who gave their surnames to the bodega) were already long in experience when they began. They had worked together for 28 years by the time they left Bodegas Palacio to start their own business. Valenciso seeks to make classically structured, subtle and elegantly fine wines using 100% Tempranillo grapes from low yielding old vines in the Rioja Alta. Winemaker Alicia Eyaralar uses exclusively French barriques, a third being new each year, to produce this terrific wine in very small quantities. In this box, there are two bottles each of 2008, 2011 and 2018, all scoring very high. Cherry deep colour, spicy nose, intense. There are some notes of leather, licorice and fountain pen ink, over a core of ripe berry fruit, with some spicy notes from the oak and a faint animal character. The palate is medium-bodied with some dusty, slightly rustic tannins and a dry finish.

Colour: Cherry. Nose: sweet spices, scrubland, ripe fruit. Palate: spicy, balsamic, good acidity, fresh.

Mas Donis Rosat is a vibrant,, aromatic, and full-bodied Spanish rosé from DO Montsant (Capçanes), typically blending Garnatxa (Grenache) with Syrah and Merlot. It is known for its intense strawberry pink color, fresh red fruit flavors (cherry, raspberry), and a long,, slightly herbal, and mineral finish.

This particular rum comes from a beautiful but previously used sherry butt in the same solera as our highly esteemed 2013 cask strength release. The distinction here is that it's a single cask bottling from a sherry butt that has been exclusively emptied for this release. Additionally, we have chosen to bottle it at a more moderate 44% alcohol content, rather than its original 50%.

La Bota de Gin 81 "Bota NO" is a complex and elegant gin, perfumed with a subtle sherry character. It has its origin in the finest distillate, London Dry Gin style, with marked citrus and juniper berries aromas, later aged for almost four years in a single cask previously used for ageing Fino from Jerez until it has been bottled at cask strength. The outcome is a symphony of aromas and flavours and a delicate palate that reminds of manzanilla pasada rather than spirits—an exceptional gin. We do not know any other one like this.

At the beginning of 2014, we selected several old casks that had previously been used for maturing sherry or brandy for over forty years to mature this magnificent gin. One was almost completely emptied for this edition of the "La Bota" series. It is, therefore, an exclusive product, which will last as long as it takes to sell out the few more than six hundred bottles that have come out of this single cask.

Valbuena is the purest expression of Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) from Vega Sicilia, where Tinto Fino dominates the blend, complemented by Merlot, the proportion of which varies depending on the vintage. The Tempranillo comes from plots on gentle concave slopes, with soils rich in eroded material and deep calcic horizons. Valbuena showcases the greatness of this terroir, with each vintage uniquely influenced by the year's weather, providing an authentic and consistent representation of the land. Its production process remains unchanged, allowing the natural variations of each harvest to shine through.

Barón de Ley Gran Reserva is a premium, full-bodied Tempranillo-dominant red wine from Rioja, Spain, aged for at least 24 months in oak (often 50/50 French and American) and 36 months in bottle. It is known for its elegant, savory profile featuring ripe dark cherry, plum, tobacco, cedar, and velvety, silky tannins, perfect for pairing with roast lamb or beef.

The Vega Sicilia Unico is a powerful yet elegant Spanish red from Ribera del Duero, a blend of 94% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, known for its balance, complexity, and remarkable aging potential, offering notes of dark fruit, spice, florals, licorice, cedar, and a fresh, chalky finish after its extensive 10-year aging in oak and bottle.

El Maestro Sierra Fino is a traditional, dry, Palomino-based Sherry from Jerez, known for its intense yeast, nutty (almond, cashew), and briny notes from biological aging under flor for around four years, offering a savory, complex profile with bright acidity, a rich texture, and a lingering salty finish, excellent with seafood, olives, and charcuterie. It's unfiltered, artisanal, and reflects a deep connection to the region's history.

Hacienda López de Haro Classica Blanco is an aged white wine from Rioja Alta made primarily from old-vine Viura grapes, known for its complex and elegant profile. It has a golden color and aromas of citrus, chamomile, dried flowers, and hints of smoke, toasted nuts, and dried fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied with good acidity, a mineral-driven and fleshy texture, and notes of stone fruit, honey, and spice, with a long, lingering finish.

Briones Abad Cantamuda Roble is a 100% Tempranillo wine from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain, characterized by its cherry-red color, and aromas of ripe black and red fruits, with notes of vanilla, toffee, and coffee from its oak aging. The wine is described as rich, balanced, and smooth, with a long, persistent finish from its mature tannins and aging in French oak barrels.

Socialite Chardonnay Non-Alcoholic offers a de-alcoholized Chardonnay experience with a golden yellow color and flavors of citrus, pineapple, and tropical fruit. It also features rich, buttery notes with apple and vanilla hints, making it a versatile pairing option for mildly spicy dishes, fish, or white meats. The alcohol content is very low, typically around 0.1% vol.

Socialite Cabernet Sauvignon De-Alcoholized wine is a full-bodied, non-alcoholic red wine with notes of blackcurrant and pepper, reminiscent of traditional Cabernet Sauvignon, according to STB Warehouse. It is described as having a rich, fruity flavor with hints of chocolate and pairs well with hearty dishes and pasta. The wine is deep garnet red in color and is made with a combination of alcohol-free Cabernet Sauvignon wine, grape juice, natural flavors, and sulfites.

A wine with the complexity of an Estate, of two varieties and three vintages, which were made separately and aged in Bordeaux barrels, later to be blended in large 1,200-litre open barrels, or Fudres. There they were to remain for 16 months, allowing the wine to evolve, without tiring it too much due to its light contact with wood, respecting the essence of the Estate, gaining in complexity, and creating one of Finca Villacreces' most surprising wines.

Yjar is a blend of old vines of Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, Granegro, and Rojal, all indigenous to the region. Selected from the property’s oldest and finest plots, the wine is vinified and aged in French oak barriques for 30 months. Despite Rioja’s tumultuous history, Telmo Rodríguez is demonstrating the region’s ability to produce world-class wines, and Yjar is a testament to his success in doing so.

An exquisite fusion of Garnacha and Cariñena (Carignan), offering a compelling alternative to Cotes du Rhone. Camino del Bosque, made with 60% Garnacha and 40% Cariñena, is sourced from the village of Almonacid de la Sierra in Zaragoza. The former undergoes fermentation in stainless steel, while the latter takes on the process in concrete and oak, utilizing indigenous yeasts. Maintaining a meticulous aging process, thirty percent of the blend matures in concrete, around 5% in clay pots (tinaja), and the remainder in oak barriques and oak vats over a 14-month period. This red blend is characterized by its juicy, primary, fruit-forward profile, showcasing ripened notes of plums, dark berries, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is harmoniously round, unveiling fine tannins, pristine flavours, and seamlessly integrated oak. Embark on a sensory journey with this luscious Mediterranean red.

Celler Mas D'En Peri Garnatxa

"Two rows per terrace, licorice soils, vines formed with a single arm and a very unproductive rootstock, make up my landscape and my life.

Mas d’en Perí is a farmhouse dating from the middle of the s. XIX The previous owner made wines on the farm, and there are still some remains of the old cellar at the Mas. My family acquired it at the end of the 50s and I am the third generation to work the land but the first to venture into making wine.

17 ha make up the farm but at the moment there are only 4 planted. 15 years ago, my father decided to plant Grenache and Carignan. Now with the growth of the project, I have decided to plant 3 ha more of white varieties and a little more Grenache.

Valbuena is the pure expression of a red at Vega Sicilia, with an ageing of five years from barrel to
bottle, which gives it its name, Valbuena 5º (5th year). 225-litre French and American oak barrels,
both new and used, 8,500-litre vats are used in a long and complex process for perhaps, the wine
which has evolved the most over the last few years.
Valbuena 5º presents its splendor in each vintage and a direct view of the greatness of its soil,
where the weather conditions each year make a clear distinction on the vintage.
