The first single malt in the world aged exclusively in French Limousin Oak and Cognac casks, Brenne Estate Cask is twice-distilled in a copper alembic still, and aged for a minimum of six years. The whisky has perfumed fruit and French patisserie aromas with creamy and complex sugar notes of rich creme brûlée and burnt caramel. On the palate: notes of banana, tropical fruits, and warm spices like cinnamon and clove.

Dried fruits, honey, cloves and freshly cooked brioche on the nose. Creamy mouthfeel initially hit the tongue. Actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have collaborated to bring forth Brother’s Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a smooth 4-year-old Indiana straight bourbon whiskey crafted with a blend of 65% corn, 22% rye, and undisclosed percentages of wheat and malted barley. On the nose, expect inviting aromas of candy corn, butterscotch candies, and hints of orange Popsicle. The 10th release in Bruichladdich's impressive limited-edition Black Art series is an enigmatic, mysterious 29-year-old whisky. Shrouded in darkness, its cask recipe is known only by Bruichladdich's head distiller and its character is spicy, complex and unlike any other Black Art expression. Aromas of chocolate praline, toasted oak, apricot jam, black cherries, honey-covered gooseberries and honeysuckle fill the nose, complemented by notes of gingernut biscuits, lemon meringue pie, marzipan, raisins, plums, vanilla and cinnamon throughout the palate, fading to ripe peaches, tobacco and ginger lingering in the finish.

When they revived their distillery in 2001, they were struck by the industry's oversight of the importance of terroir—the unique environmental factors influencing whisky's raw ingredients. Determined to change this, they have since embraced terroir as essential to their single malt's flavor profile. Their latest release, PMC:01, part of the Port Charlotte cask exploration series, highlights this commitment by spending the latter part of its maturation in Pomerol casks from Bordeaux's Right Bank. Pomerol, renowned for its exceptional red wines, embodies a distinct sense of place, reflected in its grapes' flavor. PMC:01 embodies this story of place, marrying the rich fruitiness of Pomerol oak with Islay's maritime influences, resulting in a whisky that elegantly balances peat smoke with floral and fruit notes. Conceived, distilled, matured, and bottled solely on Islay, PMC:01 proudly celebrates its complex lineage and the unique flavors of its homeland.

This is a unique expression crafted entirely on Islay, from conception to bottling. The barley used in this release was grown locally by seven farming partners within a 10-mile radius of the distillery, showcasing the distinct terroir of the island. Malted to 40ppm on the Scottish mainland, the barley is then brought back to Islay for distillation in tall, narrow-necked stills to achieve elegance and finesse. During maturation, the spirit undergoes a complex journey, with a combination of sherry butts and first and second-fill American whiskey barrels, followed by recasking into Sauternes wine casks from Bordeaux. The resulting whisky is a classic representation of Islay's peated single malt style, offering a harmonious blend of floral notes, honeyed coconut, fudge, and the signature Port Charlotte BBQ peat smoke.

Distilled exclusively with organic barley grown the previous year by Mid Coul Farms near Inverness, this 8 year old was aged in bourbon barrels. Barley, salted butter, peach, malt, and vanilla on the nose, plus cocoa powder. Quite piercing citrus fruits on the smooth palate, with more vanilla, fudge, overripe banana, and milk chocolate. Spicy oak and a suggestion of brine in the finish.

This deep amber whiskey has a complex aroma of vanilla, mint and molasses. Pleasantly sweet to the taste with notes of brown sugar and spice that give way to oak, toffee, dark fruit and anise. This whiskey finishes long and smooth with serious depth.

A no age statement Bunnahabhain destined to replace the existing 12 year old, matured in first and second-fill sherry casks. Raisins, fruit spice, furniture polish, and roasted nuts on the nose, along with an edge of brine. Rich and full-bodied in the mouth, with malt, sweet sherry, and cotton candy, plus cloves and a sprinkling of sea salt. The finish offers red berries, lively spice, and dark chocolate.

Buckle up. Bushmills Single Malt Whiskey 16 year old is truly one of the great whiskeys of the world. Aged for about 15 years in a combination of Oloroso Sherry and bourbon-seasoned casks, and then finished for about 9 months in port wine pipes (large barrels unique to making port wine.) This single malt shows its layers of flavor, juicy fruits, nuts and spice, as well as a hint of ruby redness. It’s best enjoyed neat. Okay, maybe one small cube of ice to open it up.
