Perfumed soaps in muslin bags, dried sprigs of heather, beeswax, and Edinburgh rock give this an intriguing bouquet. Juicy: mandarins glow with green plums and Granny Smith apples. Ripe, yellow fruits and spices mid-palate conclude with sweet malt and fading creaminess sweeping around the gums. Distinctive and laudable.

The final cornerstone of Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts range, this blended malt celebrates the best from the Islands. The peat smoke finds harmony with the nose of pine, lemon curd, dewy lawns, and vanilla fudge. This is gloriously full-flavored; the peatiness certainly delivers, but there is a pleasant nip of saltiness too. The black pepper finish leads to a long lasting salty smack on the lips. Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is a premium, triple-distilled Irish whiskey produced by The Shed Distillery in County Leitrim, crafted from a mash of malted barley, unmalted barley, and Irish Barra oats. It features a creamy, smooth texture with notes of vanilla, dried fruit, and spice, aged in first-fill Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks at 43% ABV.

Triticale is a wheat/rye hybrid, which I guess appealed to the wheat-mad Dry Fly distillers. Aromas of grass, bubble gum, and oak. Taste is young, brashly sweet, but smooth enough to spread easily over the tongue. There’s spice—light cinnamon, a zip of allspice heat—and grassy brightness, but they’re dressing on the juicy sweet center. Not flawed, and well-made, but I wish it had more to say.

Inspired by Dublin’s Victorian heritage, we present this wonderfully gentle yet robust Irish malt. Delicate well-balanced nose, soft spice and fine sweetness with Malt Barley always present, distinct long finish with great sherry notes makes for a smooth and flavoursome Irish whiskey that simply tastes like more.

This exquisite 32-year-old Highland single grain whisky, distilled at Invergordon in January 1990 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in August 2022 for their Rare Auld series, offers a luxurious tasting experience. Drawn from single sherry cask number 520009 and bottled at natural strength, it presents enticing aromas of butterscotch toffee, vanilla biscuits, and hints of sherried fruits. This Highland single malt from Tullibardine was distilled in 2013 and aged for nine years in a single oak cask. Following this initial maturation period, it spent an additional three months in an octave cask, imparting further complexity to the whisky. Bottled in 2023, only 85 bottles were drawn, marking its inclusion in The Octave series by independent bottlers Duncan Taylor.

Dunville's 12 Year Old PX Cask Single Malt is an award-winning Irish whiskey from The Echlinville Distillery, aged for 12 years and finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, it features a rich, sweet, and complex profile with notes of dried fruits, candied orange, custard, and oak. It is known for its smooth, balanced, and slightly spicy character, without chill filtration.

Dunville’s Three Crowns Irish Whiskey is a premium vintage blend of superior aged whiskeys finished in three of the finest sherry casks.

Evan Williams Black Label is a widely popular, value-priced 86-proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon produced by Heaven Hill Distillery. Aged for at least 4–5 years, it features a medium-amber color with a, robust, traditional flavor profile of caramel, vanilla, and oak, making it ideal for mixing or budget-friendly sipping.

Fercullen 10 Year Old Single Grain Irish Whiskey is a creamy, sweet, and fruity spirit, matured in white oak and finished in ex-bourbon casks, offering notes of vanilla, honey, ripe tropical fruits (mango, peach), citrus (orange), caramel, and spice with a warming gingerbread finish, known for its smooth, approachable character. 

Inchgower distillery is located in the village of Buckie on the Moray Firth coast and is known for producing a full-bodied and robust style of whisky. The distillery uses locally-sourced water from the nearby Burn of Inchgower to produce its whiskies.
In general, single malt whiskies from the Inchgower distillery are known for their rich and complex flavor profile, with notes of dried fruits, honey, and a hint of smoke.

Each batch is a little bit different, this one leaning to sweet orchard fruits, nutty barley, and hot spicy rye. Butterscotch and vanilla on the nose translate well onto the palate. Brisk peppery spice underlies developing layers, adding another dimension of complexity to an already broad range of flavors. Hints of oak tannins on the finish remind us this was finished in Canadian wood.

Matured in bourbon casks, this 43% ABV whisky offers a sweet, tropical profile with notes of coconut, mango, lemon/lime, and elderflower, finishing with gentle oak and spice.
