Anne-Sophie Dubois is part of a young generation of vignerons redefining the identity of Beaujolais. Born and raised in Champagne, she caught the wine bug early and spent her formative years learning the ropes in Burgundy. Even though she only works with one grape variety, the three vineyards she gets her fruit from couldn't be more different. The Les Labourons vineyard is described as complex and dense with very bottles produced. Ageable, so this 3L will mellow over time.

Domaine Louis Cheze is a family winery located in the town of Limony in the northern part of the Saint Joseph AOC. This cuvée has been made since the 1990 vintage. Roussanne is grown on the hillsides and the Marsanne on the plateau. The plot is close to the property on the heights of Limony. The nose has acacia aromas and hawthorn to honeyed notes. The palate has an unctuous mouth feel with more of the flavour of acacia and honey along with toasted, nutty notes.

This family estate was established during the 19th century and today more than half of the vineyard is more than 40 years old. Piollot Champagnes carries on old Champagne traditions, now bringing in organic and biodynamic viticulture to amplify the authenticity of their Champagnes. One doesn't see Champagne made from 100% Pinot Blanc, but that is what makes this Champagne completely unique. This Champagne has zero dosage and 5 years on the lees. On the nose, gourmet aromas of mirabelle plum, mint, guava and lily flowers, all enveloped in musky flavours with a palate that is lively and powerful yet with a fine and pleasant bubble.

Au Pied du Mont Chauve Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Clos Saint Jean 2018 is a high-quality white wine produced by Au Pied du Mont Chauve, a small, family-owned winery located in  Chassagne-Montrachet. Made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Les Clos Saint Jean vineyard, this wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, resulting in a rich and complex wine with a beautiful balance between fruit and oak flavors. Fukucho Seaside is a premium sake produced by Imada Sake Brewery, located in the Hiroshima Prefecture of Japan. It is made using high-quality Yamada Nishiki rice and pure water sourced from a nearby mountain. Fukucho Seaside is a junmai ginjo style sake, which means it is brewed using only rice, water, yeast, and koji mold without any added alcohol. It has a delicate and fruity aroma, with notes of pear, melon, and a hint of green apple. On the palate, it is clean and refreshing, with a soft mouthfeel and a slightly dry finish. The name "Seaside" reflects the brewer's intention to create a sake that evokes the freshness and purity of the nearby sea. Droin Chablis is a white wine made entirely from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru vineyard in Chablis, Burgundy. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its freshness and purity of fruit.

The 2020 Masseto now sees new DNA with a touch of Cabernet Franc added to this celebrated Merlot-based icon wine. This is a vintage of enormous richness and density, and everything about the wine is taken up a notch or two (including the bottle glass weight and the 15% alcohol content). But Axel Heinz and his team are well prepared for the hot vintages like 2020, and changes to farming and canopy management ensure even ripening. This wine is always hard to analyze in its youth. It needs many more years to soften and flesh out. Give it time.

To the north of the Côte de Beaune, the Montagne de Corton brings together the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. Clos de Vougeot is located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits between Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée. It represents an area of 49.86 ha, at an altitude varying between 240 and 255 meters above sea level. Founded in 1110 by the Abbaye of Citeaux, Clos de Vougeot is the ideal image of Burgundy, rich with a terroir worthy of art. The village of Vougeot also has 4 climates of 1ers Crus on an area of 12.5 ha, including 3 ha of white wines: Les Cras, La Vigne Blanche, Les Petits Vougeot, and Clos de la Perrière.

Bright wine with a beautiful deep garnet color and several purple highlights. Good aromatic intensity, the nose is fine and fresh. It opens on aromas of violet and red berries which make up a bouquet of typical expression. Well delineated on the palate and well rounded, highly concentrated. The length is accompanied by soft tannins.

A delightful fruity and light white wine displays wonderful, green apple and honeysuckle scents on the nose. The palate is rich in flavors of green and red apples in an off-dry style. Balanced with moderate acidity.

From the tiny appellation of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, 13 grapes are allowed in the blend, yet with grenache, syrah and mourvedre dominant. The Domaine de Cristia is a typical blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre with a brooding, intense deep colour. The bouquet is an elegant mix of black currant, blackberries, violets, deli meats and hints of leather and pepper. The palate is well balanced with fine-grained tannins and a long, powerful finish. This wine will cellar well for the next 10-15 years.

The En Largillieres vineyard is 4ha and very well located, but much less known than its other premier cru neighbours. Wines from this plot are powerful, rich and rustic. Plump raspberry fruit, spicy with strict structure and tannins.

This contrast often catches the uninitiated off guard, yet it is part of the seduction of these limited and highly sought-after wines.
