Santa Teresa 1796 epitomizes boldness and elegance, boasting a blend of rums aged for up to 35 years in bourbon oak barrels. Further enriched through the artisanal Solera method, reminiscent of Spanish sherry production, this rum emerges as a dry, impeccably smooth, and harmoniously balanced libation. Hailing from a superb single estate in Venezuela, it tantalizes the senses with aromas of caramel sweetness, toffee brittle, pepper, and cooked apple. A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Haut-Bailly was harvested from the 9th to 25th of September. It has an alcohol of 14.3%. Deep purple-black in colour, it prances out of the glass with naturally beautiful notions of fresh black cherries, violets, mulberries and boysenberries, giving way to hints of redcurrant jelly, star anise, tilled soil and menthol. The medium to full-bodied palate is delicately crafted with velvety/grainy tannins and fantastic freshness framing the perfumed red and black berry layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant-earth note.

A blended whisky from Suntory's three distilleries: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. Toki has a different composition to another Suntory blend, Hibiki, as its main components are Hakashu single malt and Chita grain whisky. It should work really well in a highball.

Castel Mimi 'AnimAliens' Saperavi (IGP Codru, Moldova) is a powerful, dry red wine blending Georgian Saperavi grapes with Moldovan terroir. It features an intense ruby color, with aromas of dried plums, spices, and a fine texture. It is typically aged, offering a bold, structured palate with notes of black fruits, tobacco, and herbs. 

This sun-dappled wine is loaded with aromas of baked apple, sweet spice from French oak and lemon zest. Broad and mouthfilling, the palate focuses on ample flavors of pear, dried yellow flowers and roasted honey, finishing with a clean slate of acidity.

North America's first single malt whisky distillery. A single malt from this side of the sea, aged 10 years in oak barrels. The crystal clear water from Maclellan's Brook flows from the Mabou highlands located above Glenora distillery, giving Glen Breton its classic and pure taste. Produced by the traditional copper pot stills methods using only three ingredients: barley, yeast and water.

Tasting Notes: on the nose it is medium-bodied and pleasantly fiery, offering a tight combination of butterscotch, heather, honey and ground, with wood-infused undertones. finishes long and smooth.

Chalk soils have long been considered one of the key resources enabling the Champagne region to produce such intense and refined wines. Aiming to highlight this relationship, Andre Clouet have released a new wine in their range further dialling up the crisp and salty flavours so prevalent in wines from these chalk rich soils. As a 100% Chardonnay cuvee, this initial release of "Chalky" is entirely from the outstanding 2013 vintage, with vineyard sources one third from the southern slopes of the Montagne de Reims, and two thirds on the Cote de Blancs. After pressing, fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks before being aged for seven years in the bottle, disgorged early in 2021 with 6g/L dosage. Expect a lively, salty, mineral inflected wine that is a perfect aperitif or wine to drink alongside fresh oysters.

Umbria, Italy’s only land-locked region is home to Italy’s most tannic grape variety – Sagrantino. This big, bold, structured wine is high in tannins, but they are polished and perfect for those big fatty, high protein meat dishes. Let this age for ten years or more for optimal taste or decant for several hours to enjoy sooner.

AROMA: Dried and candied fruits like mango and apricot, plums, raisins, quince.
PALATE: Lovely balance between the fruits, sweetness and acidity. The wine develops on layers of flavours between the candied and dried fruits, the acidity combines with some bitter notes due to the slow oxidation in cask to bring nerve to the wine before leaving us on a beautiful complex finish lingering on spicy notes.

Very pale salmon colour. Fully ripe grapes. Very vinous nose. Masses of fruit and only the merest hint of fermentation aromas. Apparently 1.7 g/l residual sugar but it tastes more. High extract because berries are very small. Real mouthful of charming fruit. Very commercial I would have thought. Designed for the on trade. Mouthful of venosity. Well done!

The jury is out on this wine from St. Emilion, whether to drink or hold. If you're looking for a Merlot dominant wine, look no further than this blend of 90% with added 10% Cabernet France for structure and concentration. As one would expect, it's soft and fleshy with plum and blackberry fruits, laced with clove, walnut, and black tea. This will still evolve over time but can be enjoyed now.
