Clos de Vougeot is located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits between Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée. It represents an area of 49.86 ha, at an altitude varying between 240 and 255 meters above sea level. Founded in 1110 by the Abbaye of Citeaux, Clos de Vougeot is the ideal image of Burgundy, rich with a terroir worthy of art. The village of Vougeot also has 4 climates of 1ers Crus on an area of 12.5 ha, including 3 ha of white wines: Les Cras, La Vigne Blanche, Les Petits Vougeot, and Clos de la Perrière.

Bright wine with a beautiful deep garnet color and several purple highlights. Good aromatic intensity, the nose is fine and fresh. It opens on aromas of violet and red berries which make up a bouquet of typical expression. Well delineated on the palate and well rounded, highly concentrated. The length is accompanied by soft tannins.

A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Haut-Bailly was harvested from the 9th to 25th of September. It has an alcohol of 14.3%. Deep purple-black in colour, it prances out of the glass with naturally beautiful notions of fresh black cherries, violets, mulberries and boysenberries, giving way to hints of redcurrant jelly, star anise, tilled soil and menthol. The medium to full-bodied palate is delicately crafted with velvety/grainy tannins and fantastic freshness framing the perfumed red and black berry layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant-earth note.

The 2020 L'Eglise Clinet is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The Merlot was picked between the 11th and the 14th of September, and the Cabernet Franc was picked on the 16th of September. It has an alcohol of 14.4% and is aging in French oak barrels, 80% new. Displaying and opaque purple-black color, it needs a bit of swirling to reveal a fascinating array of earthy notes —black truffles, charcoal, mossy tree bark and fallen leaves—over a profound core of preserved plums, blackberry preserves and violets, with a waft of tapenade. The medium to full-bodied palate has exquisitely ripe tannins and bold freshness supporting the seductively ripe, black fruit layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant earth note.

This white wine offers a unique combination of aromas and flavors. On the nose, you'll detect nutty and herbaceous-planty notes, along with a subtle hint of tobacco and yellow fruity aromas. There's also a touch of dark berries and floral traces adding to its complexity. On the palate, you'll experience a pleasant sweetness of fruit with nutty and slightly smoky undertones. Herbal and tobacco notes intermingle, while a faint taste of passion fruit emerges. The tannins are somewhat drying, and there's a moderate presence of wood spice and nutty flavors. The drink leaves a lasting impression with good persistence, and its finish is sweetish yet slightly drying. Overall, it presents an intriguing and multifaceted tasting experience.

This wine is from a contiguous parcel that sits astride the Clos Prieur du Haut (classified 1er Cru) and the Clos Prieur du Bas (classified as a village wine); rather than create two tiny cuvées, the domaine prefers to blend the two to make an extra-fine village wine from the lieu-dit “Clos Prieur”. Harmand-Geoffroy owns a bit less than a half-hectare of vineyards in Clos Prieur and the vines therein were planted between 50 and 85 years ago. In our opinion, this is one of the finest village wines available from Gevrey; it is elegant yet powerful with a compelling density and ripe, sweet tannins.

The SLV has generous dark fruit aromas of black currant, plum, candied fig and cocoa dust. The palate is dense, yet polished with tannins that meld with layers of dark fruit, fig and violet. The structure and tannins of this wine point to its ageability. Lay this one down for a few years and drink from 2026-2039. This too scored high - 99 points from Wine Enthusiast. Because we also carry the 2018, this is a great opportunity to create a mini-vertical.

The Gropello group of grapes features mostly Gropello Gentile and definitely the wine of the Lombardia side of Lake Garda and the Riviera del Garda DOC. This elegant wine features a strong, spicy note with strawberry and ripe fruit. On the palate it is sweet and balanced with a hint of savouriness.

Made from a single vineyard of old vines, this wine is only produced in excellent vintages. It ages for 30 months in large hand selected barrels, used only for this wine. The nose is extremely complex and
broad with the classic Sangiovese notes of marasca cherry and

Neil Ellis is considered to be one of the most influencial pioneers of winemaking in South Africa. The Groenekloof vineyards are located near Darling on the West Coast and consist of a series of hills running parallel to the ocean. These bush vines are low yielding vineyards, delivering a refreshing, well-structured wine with bright, tropical aromatics. The palate is elegant with delicately detailed tropical fruits and subtle herbacious undertones. A lively acidity and a refined minerality add to the complexity of the wine. Custoza in the hills of Lake Garda, is the region where the village of Del Fra is situated. Giusti Augusto Recantina is a red wine produced by Giusti Wine winery located in Veneto, Italy. The wine is made using 100% Recantina grapes, which are grown in the vineyards surrounding the winery. Recantina is an indigenous grape variety of Veneto, known for its intense color, tannins, and high acidity. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, followed by bottle aging for an additional 6 months. On the nose, the wine exhibits aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with firm tannins and a good balance of acidity. Tua Rita Perlato del Bosco Bianco is a white blend wine that is produced by Tua Rita winery in Tuscany, Italy. The Danimi Votiva Bianco is a white wine made from a blend of Fiano, Greco and Falanghina grapes grown in the Irpinia region of Campania, Italy. Grignolino is a light-coloured tannic grape variety from the Monferrato region of Piemonte, where quality grape varieties grow in abundance. Always a nose of dried flowers, berry jam, pepper and cloves. Extremely high tannins, yet classy with a bold personality!

Terrano is one of the few red grapes of the Carso region, and much rarer than its Tazzelenghe or Schioppettino counterparts. Yet, the quality is unmistakable as the grape expresses the terroir very well. In fact, the grape name means “red earth” due to the soil it’s grown in. There is a certain Barbera-like quality to the crunchy, earth-tinged red fruits and the bright, zingy acidity of the wine, yet there is more finesse and purity. Fresh herbs and red licorice on the palate add complexity, and the concentration is surprising given its exceedingly modest alcohol level, typically never exceeding 12.5% alcohol. A unique wine, but well suited to the North American palate. 

Friuli-Venezia Giulia is one of the smallest regions in Italy, yet also one of the mightiest. With a plethora of indigenous grape varieties not grown outside of the region, and even fewer producers that are embracing them, Zidarich is truly one of the best.

There are many “malvasia” named grapes within Italy, with some more quality than others. One of the best Malvasia grapes is Istriana, grown in the Friuli region as well as neighbouring Slovenia. Benjamin Zidarich practices biodynamic viticulture, picking grapes and bottling wine according to the phases of the moon. He will tell you that the grapes are grown by the sun and the earth, and the wine is grown by the moon.  The nose has notes of white peaches, oriental mixed spices, mineral, and stony notes. Maceration on the skins will give the wine slight tannins that overlay crunchy stone fruits, savoury herbs, and crushed stony minerality. 

The Prulke is a white wine that is a blend of 60% Sauvignon, 20% Vitovska, 20% Malvasia Istriana, the last two native grapes of the region. The name Prulke refers to the land where the grapes are grown; directly below Prepotto, the town where Zidarich was born and the location of the winery.

This exquisite wine from the distinguished Familie Picard in Saint Aubin, Burgundy, France boasts a firm structure and a mineral, taut texture. It also presents a delightful blend of red apples, green plums, and a hint of apricot.

Moët & Chandon Imperial Milestones Brut Champagne is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes sourced from multiple vineyards across Champagne. The wine is aged for at least 24 months in the cellars, which gives it a rich and complex character. It has a pale golden color with green highlights and a persistent and fine effervescence. On the nose, it offers aromas of white flowers, lemon, and brioche, with hints of hazelnut and toast. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with flavors of citrus and white fruit, and a long and mineral finish. The wine has a balanced acidity, which makes it suitable for pairing with a variety of dishes, such as seafood, white meat, or light pasta dishes. Gerard Raphet and now with his daughter Marion, farm the small plots of nearly 100-year-old Pinot Noir vines in Morey St. Denis and surrounding area. Raphet is shy and prefers to let the majesty of his Pinot Noir wines do the talking. Clos de Vougeot is a highly regarded appellation with over 80 producers owning very small plots. As such, the wines vary considerably in both style and quality. Raphet's wines are amongst some of the best wines produced here, with grapes coming from 60-80 year old vines. The rsulting wine is structured, yet suave with notes of raspberry, black cherry, earth and baking spices.

Les Millandes premier Cru is an east facing sit and close to the GC of Clos de la Roche, growing 100% pinot noir. The soils are the same in both sites, resulting in similar wines. Les Millandes is always supple and seductive with dusty chocolate notes, along with the typical aromas of red berries, warm barking spices and earth. The tannins are structured, yet fine.

Rivo Sloe Gin is a premium Italian gin-based liqueur that is infused with sloe berries, which are a type of small, dark fruit related to the plum. The sloe berries are hand-picked in the hills of Lombardy, Italy and then infused in Rivo Gin for several months to extract their rich, fruity flavor. The result is a smooth and velvety liqueur that has a deep ruby color and a rich, fruity aroma. The taste is complex, with a balance of sweetness and bitterness that is characteristic of sloe berries. Meursault is the centre of the four communes (Meursault, Blagny, Chassagne and Puligny) comprising that part of the Côte de Beaune known as the "Côte des Blancs", named for the quality and predominance of its white wines. Grown exclusively to Chardonnay, the soils here are chalky and white marl, resulting in wines with bright acidity. This wine also rests on the lees for texture and body. Aromas of brioche, hazelnut and spice anda medium body and supple texture that carry into a persistent finish.

Au Pied du Mont Chauve Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Clos Saint Jean 2018 is a high-quality white wine produced by Au Pied du Mont Chauve, a small, family-owned winery located in  Chassagne-Montrachet. Made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Les Clos Saint Jean vineyard, this wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, resulting in a rich and complex wine with a beautiful balance between fruit and oak flavors. On the nose, the wine displays aromas of citrus, ripe pear, and white flowers, with hints of vanilla and toast. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, with a creamy texture and a long, lingering finish. The acidity is well-balanced, providing a nice tension that balances the wine. Famille Picard's Puligny-Montrachet 5 Chemin du Chateau Chassagne-Montrachet 2018 is a classic expression of this world-renowned white wine from Burgundy, France. The wine is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyards surrounding the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet. It is a rich and complex wine with notes of citrus, apple, pear, and honey, along with a subtle minerality that is typical of Puligny-Montrachet. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a creamy texture and a long, elegant finish. This wine can be enjoyed now or aged for up to a decade.

Roland Piollot and Dominique Moreau are Champagne Piollot, a family Estate in the Aube dating to the late 19th Century. The couple are also responsible for the Champagnes of Marie Courtin. Dominique’s family vineyards make Marie Courtin, Roland’s family vineyards make Champagne Piollot. Roland, fifth generation grower, was joined by his daughter Jeanne in 2018.
Although Pinot Meunier is widely planted in the Marne Valley, it is relatively rare in the Aube. Only a mere 6% of the Piollot family vineyards are planted to Pinot Meunier, but they decided to highlight this grape with the Mepetit vineyard in Polisot starting in 2015. Aging in oak barrels gives this wine a uniquely complex texture and profile that is not to be missed. The wine is aged on the lees for four years before release, and like all of the Champagnes from Piollot, it’s disgorged non-dosé.

Delicacy is the definition of this Volnay, a wine which is like lace. This 100% pinot noir has aromas of violet, cherry, and - with age - spices, game and cooked prune. It has an immediate appeal which, added to a slight natural precocity, means it can be fully open while still relatively young. The attack is fresh, the finish is warm. Drinking this wine, one seems to bite into a fresh fruit and breath in its heady aroma.

Pale lemon color. Classical Marlborough with aromas of grapefruit, lime, blackcurrant and tropical notes underscored with complexing hints of jalapeno and tomato leaf. Pure and concentrated with flavours of white peach, boxwood, citrus and wet river stone. The palate is concentrated yet elegant with flavour density and a lingering, textured finish.

" Another strong effort, the 2005 Barolo Riserva 10 Anni Fossati Case Nere offers an intriguing interplay of power and sensuality. Dark red stone fruits, menthol, sage and licorice open up, but with considerable aeration. The aromatics are beguiling, while there is quite a bit of depth to the fruit, all of which adds up to a satisfying if reticent Barolo that should be cellared for another year or two, or given a at least a few hours of air."

Lightly aged for two months in oak barrels, this offers subtle complexities of fresh agave, oak, citrus, and honey with a light amber hue. Smooth and sweet on the palate with exceptional balance; the finish is highlighted with flavours of floral and vanilla notes.

The history of Smith Haut-Lafitte dates back to the 14th century, when George Smith, a Scottish wine merchant, acquired the property in the mid-18th century, giving it his name. After changing hands again in 1958, it was in 1990 that the Cathiard couple fell in love with the Chateau, purchased, and spent the next three years renovating the estate. Their constant philosophy is to make the best possible wine from each vintage to showcase the magnificent terroir. 2011 is a bit of a surprise here following the epic vintages of 2009 2010, but this is equally brilliant. The red wine blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot shows a big nose of cassis, licorice and oak, while the palate has silky and elegant tannins with a juicy texture. This is ready to drink now, but will age another 5-10 years.

The roots of Domaine Parent date back to the 17th century. Currently the domaine is being run by the 12th generation - Anne Parent and her sister Catherine Fages-Parent. Anne is self-taught, following the lunar cycle and principles of biodynamics to express all the peculiarities of each plot. The small 1.3ha site of Les Croix Noires is located just south of Pommard village. Strong, yet elegant, this Pinot Noir is well-balanced in structure between wood/tannins and acidity.

Anne Parent and her sister Catherine are the 12th generation of the family running the Domaine. The Les Chaponnieres vineyard is 2.89ha lying south of the village of Pommard, above the Les Croix vineyard. The wines here have fleshy fruit, with aspicy nose, raspberry and cherry hints, together hints of licorice.

The Les Argilieres vineyard is 4ha and very well located, but much less known than its other Premier Cru neighbours. Wines from this plot are powerful, rich and rustic. Plump raspberry fruit, spicy with strict structure and tannins.
