Like Brane-Cantenac, Cantenac Brown is one of the big outperformers in Margaux this year. Is it better than the 2009? It is probably more a question of taste. The 2010 wine is characterised by ripe black fruits well woven together into a sweet oak framework. This is a classic ‘silky’ Margaux but with very present refreshing acidity. Good length. A really successful wine this and with Brane-Cantenac surely a must buy in this vintage.

The nose is delicate, mingling rhubarb and peach fragrances with delicious notes of white flowers. A fresh attack with notes of rhubarb gives way to an alluring, delicious and pure mouthfeel. Persistent and smooth, the finish reveals buttery and subtle aromas of Muscadelle.

Intense garnet colour. Aromas of fresh red fruit, like gooseberry, with hints of humus on a oaky background. Impressive concentration on the palate and a persistent texture. The finish is almost rustic, with firm tannins covered by the dry extract.

A blend of 71.4% Sauvignon Blanc and 28.6% Semillon, harvested 20th to 27th August and with an alcohol of 13.9%, the 2020 Haut Brion Blanc slowly unfurls to reveal notes of fresh pears, spiced apple slices, orange zest and lemongrass, plus touches of wet pebbles, dillseed and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate wears its lightly spicy apple and pear layers with grace and sophistication, supported by a racy backbone and subtly creamy texture, finishing long and mineral-laced. It will need time, but there's no doubting it's a knock-out.

Vivacious, bright, yellow citrus, lime, green apple, tangerine, and honeysuckle notes are there for the taking on the nose and palate. Crisp and energetic, with a long blast of zesty green apples, lemon peel and a hint of vanilla in the finish. This is among the best vintages of Cos d'Estournel Blanc ever produced. The wine blends 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Semillon.

Blackberries and black currants define the nose, palate, and character of this classy Pauillac. The wine offers vibrancy, chewy textures, and nuances of mint, tobacco leaf, cedar, peppery spices, and tobacco wrapper. Classic, classy, refined, and with ample layers of sweet, lush, dark fruits with the tannins to age, this will drink well early, yet it will also evolve quite well.

Periquita Red, produced by José Maria da Fonseca, is a historic, widely popular Portuguese dry red wine (first bottled in 1850) from the Setúbal Peninsula. Known for being fruit-forward,, juicy, and medium-bodied, it typically features flavors of black cherry, raspberry, and vanilla with soft tannins and a smooth finish.

From the Veneto region, international grape varieties thrive, especially Cabernet Franc. The Savian winery is a family owend winery in the Lison Pramaggiore region fo Veneto, in operation since 1925. They received their organic certification in 1993. The company owns seven brands, and the Quota 7 line is also biodynamic. This Cabernet Franc is full bodied with juicy black fruit, herbs and hints of earth. Super drinkable and will pair well with grilled meats, and the price point is undeniable!

Although the Upper Valdarno in Tuscany, where the winery is located is steeped in history, the young owners of Meca and Rocco are a brother and sister team with a combined age of just over 40 years old. Originally from Calabria where they learned the land, agriculture inthe toe of Italy's boot is difficult, so the family decide to pursue opportunities in Tuscany. They produce olive oil and and vegetables along with wine, all farmed organically. The Vertigine is made with 100% Canaiolo, typically a blending grape for Chianti and Chianti Classico wines. This comes from their youngest vineyard, hand picke and hand selected for a finished wine that is juicy, fresh, with lots of pretty red fruit of cherry and raspberry. A unique and lovely wine.

Founded in 1911, Casaretti is considered one of the top producers in the Bardolino DOC. The 4th generation manages the estate of 13ha on the eastern shores of Lake Garda. Made with 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Molinara, it is a fresh and vibrant rose with hints of peach and roses. Drink young with white fish and risotto.

Ken Forrester Silver Rose is a 100% Grenache rosé from Stellenbosch, South Africa, featuring a delicate, light pink color and a refined, dry profile. It offers notes of strawberry, red berries, and pomegranate, with a medium-bodied, structured, and elegant palate. It is typically aged on fine lees for 9 months.

Le Cidre Artisanal Breton Bigoud Rosé (souvent associé aux Cidres Le Brun ou Cidres Le Brun/Bigoud à Plovan) est une boisson pétillante de Bretagne, caractérisée par sa robe rose naturelle et son goût rafraîchissant. It began with rather normal temperatures and precipitation, promoting budbreak that was in line with the historical average of the region. Spring, and in particular the month of May, was characterized by frequent rainfall and temperatures slightly below average. The summer months were generally hot and dry, without noticeable spikes, providing optimal ripening conditions for the Merlot, Cabernet & Sangiovese grapes that comprise this wine. A windy and cooler September insured healthy & phenolically mature clusters were obtained during harvest. Tasting Notes Intensely red in colour with purple reflections, this wine contains aromas of forest berries, sweet spice and vanilla bean. Round and harmonious on the palate, this wine has sweet tannins and a delicate finish.

The vineyards of Michel Mallard located in Ladoix-Serrigny at the foot of Corton Hill in the Cotes de Beaune encompass all levels of vineyard quality: Villages, Premier Cru Grand Cru. Red wines of Corton will typically be more structured than wines of Vougeout, but perhaps not as powerful as Pommard. The Grand Cru of Le Rognet is a complex wine with notes of buleberry, blackberry and blackcurrant with nuances of licorice and pepper. Smooth and velvety tannins, this wine will age for a surprisingly long time.

Austria has come a long way in winemaking and this blend of their famous Zweigelt (crossing of Blaufrankisch and St. Laurent) with Cabernet Franc offers aromas and flavours of red berries and roses. Light on its feet, it reminds one of summer! Certified organic and vegan.

Local Edmonton brewery Trial and Ale is well known for artisinal wild and sour ales. This is a farmhouse ale/sour blend, so as its name suggests, it is brewed with several strains of brettanomyces to create the bready, yeasty, somewhat funky, earthy and tart flavours.

From one of the only wineries located within the Parco Nazionale, this is the top wine of the Pasetti line. With six years of ageing combined with stainless steel, new oak and in bottle, this intense, complex, full-bodied wine is a stunning example of ripe red cherry, and plum, accompanied by hints of violet and dried red flowers. Further flavours of stewed cherries, plums, spice, licorice and coffee that gives great complexity, structure, depth and elegance. A truly fascinating wine.

Mas Donis Rosat is a vibrant,, aromatic, and full-bodied Spanish rosé from DO Montsant (Capçanes), typically blending Garnatxa (Grenache) with Syrah and Merlot. It is known for its intense strawberry pink color, fresh red fruit flavors (cherry, raspberry), and a long,, slightly herbal, and mineral finish.

The Rosch family represents three generations of winemaking in the Mosel. Their land is 8.5ha of Riesling grown on mostly slate soils. With the cool climate, the grapes ripen later, then only natural yeasts are used which aid to express the terroir of the Mosel. The term "feinherb" is referred to as off-dry and with 19 g/L of residual sugar, the wine has aromas of apricots and peaches to match the racy acidity. A refreshing, harmonious wine with Drinkflusse(a nicer way of saying highly quaffable).

Neil Ellis is considered to be one of the most influencial pioneers of modern day winemaking in South Africa. The Syrah grapes from the Groenekloof vineyard were handpicked from low yielding bush vines. They produce a medium bodied wine with vibrant colours. The aroma is full of enticing dark fruit with contributing spicy undertones. There are lingering savoury notes in the long finish, accentuated by fine, elegant tannins. For the price, this is an excellent Syrah.

In the heart of Willamette Valley, Iris Vineyards on 870 acres features over 10 acres of Pinot Gris vines. Dry farmed for concentrated berries, this Pinot Gris has aromas of Asian pear and pineapple with a lively balanced palate of yellow apple and grapefruit. The versatility of this wine allows it to pair well with white fish, scallops, and yellow curry. A quality pinot gris from a quality area.

Since 1620, the Humbrecht family has been cultivating their wines in the great patchwork quilt terroirs of Alsace in northern France. Today, they own 42ha in several Grand Cru sites, including Rangen de Thann, the most southerly of the Alsace vineyards. The volcanic terroir of Rangen dominates the aromatics of this young wine with all its power: gunflint, crushed rocks, ripe white and green fruits, typical of the variety. Intense, high acidity and ripe tannins of the vintage make this wine extremely ageable.

The winery of Ippolito is the oldest in Calabria, the "toe of Italy's boot - located in the Ciro DOC, this wine was produced to celebrate 160 years of winemaking. Made from 100% Gaglioppo, the grapes are air dried, followed by a long maceration on the skins to give increased concentration and structure. Full bodied with aromas of berries, violets, raisins and sweet spices, it's complex with a pleasantly long finish. Cabernet lovers will love this wine!

One of the great vineyards of Napa Valley, farmer Nathan Fay planted this in 1961. It was the first vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in the Stags' Leap District. Stag's Leap cellars purchased the vineyard in 1986 and it continues to be one of the signature wines of the lineup, garnering 90+ scores year after year. The 2019 shows dust, clove and graphite with secondary hints of violet, sage and tree bark. While this can be enjoyed now, it is recommended to cellar and enjoy from 2029-2039. POLI MARCONI 46 GIN is a handcrafted Italian gin that is distilled using traditional methods and features a distinctive blend of juniper berries, muscat grape, mountain pine, cembra pine, mint, cardamom, and coriander. This unique infusion of flavors is inspired by the Asiago plateau in the north of the Veneto region, which is the ancestral home of the Poli family.

The 2016 is a red wine blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. The wine has notes of black fruit and cocoa bean on the noes with a dense texture and elegant tannins. The palate is full-bodied with notes of black currant, pencil shavings and spice that lead into a very pleasant long finish. Drink from 2026-2036.

this cuvée is distinguished by its aromas of quince, pear and mirabelle plum, and its beautiful balance on the palate despite its sweetness, its precision, and its aromas of candied fruits. a very nice sweet vouvray, with great ageing potential.

Cottà Barbaresco DOCG has liquorice notes and a light touch of smokiness. Dried roses dominate the floral scents. It remains delicate in the mouth and, yet, with plenty of aromatic persistence and well balanced tannins.

Franz Haas Lagrein DOC is a red wine produced in the Valle Isarco subregion of Alto Adige, Italy, by the Franz Haas winery. Made entirely from the Lagrein grape variety, the wine exhibits a deep ruby red color with purple hues. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe dark berries, such as blackberries and blueberries, as well as notes of spices, such as black pepper and cloves. Sottimano is a family-run winery in the Barbaresco zone of Piedmont, Italy. The 2018 vintage of their single-vineyard Pajore Barbaresco is a beautiful expression of Nebbiolo, with aromas of red berries, rose petals, and tar. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with firm tannins and a long finish. This wine is still quite young and will benefit from some additional bottle aging, but it has already received high scores from wine critics, with Antonio Galloni of Vinous awarding it a score of 96/100.

Made in only the best vintages, the grapes for the Trefiano Carmignano Riserva come from five hectares of vineyards surrounding the historic Villa di Trefiano located in the Carmignano DOCG. The Trefiano DOCG is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo. The wine is aged in tonneaux for 16 months and a further year in a bottle. Ruby red colour, medium-bodied, with black plum fruit, balanced acidity and tannins. Complex with good age-ability.
