Casa Raia was purchased in 2006 by Frenchman Pierre Jean Monnoyer who restored the old vineyards and began producing natural wines with three labels, the "supertuscan" Bevilo, a Sangiovese Rose and this Brunello di Montalcino. Made with 100% Sangiovese (as required by law) this ageable beauty is elegant with a nose of cherry, cinnamon, thyme and hints of pencil shavings and earth. Certainly one of the best "natural" wines out there.

Medium weight on the palate, youthful still with a slight tannic bite, fresh grape and red berry notes with white pepper, and dried herb notes, fine length, and balance, should just need another few years of ageing.

The Blasted Church Vineyards Syrah VQA typically offers a rich and complex tasting experience. The nose reveals notes of blueberry, plum, and violet, with a hint of gamey Syrah. On the palate, you can expect a rounded attack with blueberry, blackberry, and ripe red berries, leading into mid-palate flavors of wild sage and plum. Lively acidity balances the mouthfeel, and fine-grained tannins persist throughout the finish.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with chewy tannins and a peppery acidity that harmoniously fills the mouth. Flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and licorice are complemented by notes of delicate springtime flowers and zesty citrus fruits.

Artesano de Argento White Malbec presents a unique tasting experience, departing from the traditional red Malbec profile. It offers aromas of green apple, citrus, and floral notes, with a palate that's vibrant and refreshing, characterized by balanced acidity and a mineral finish. Some tasters also note hints of sweetness, which is well-integrated by the wine's acidity.

This wine boasts a distinctive coppery hue, achieved by leaving the must on the skins overnight! Aromas of ripe pear, apricot, and floral notes are enriched with hints of almonds and a touch of spice. Its complexity and depth make it highly versatile, pairing beautifully with cold cuts, charcuterie boards, seafood risotto, delicate white meats, and even Lobster Mac and Cheese. The grapes are manually harvested and fermented in stainless steel under temperature control, with minimal intervention to preserve the wine’s natural character and unique style.

Made with the same grapes and care that go into the Leitz award-winning “regular” Rieslings and Pinot Noirs, the wines are de-alcoholised through a low temperature vaccuum distillation process to ensure alcohol is removed without removing the all important natural aromas and remarkable properties of the terroir. The wine is clean and fresh with notes of lime and citrus; surprisingly rhubarb and a little hint of red apples on an underlying mineral base. The finish is dry and relatively long.

Another great wine from the winemaking team at Casale del Giglio, this is another "petit" wine, although there's nothing little about it. Typically the grape used in Bordeaux blends to provide the tannic backbone, it's seen more and more often as a monovarietal wine. The Petit Verdot is part of a special research project that was launched in 1985 with the goal to identify maximize the territory’s potential for quality viticulture. Finding ideal growing conditions with respect to climate, elevation, and soil, the Petit Verdot matures into an elegant and full-bodied red wine with great berry flavours. Velvety and ripe tannins provide a great backbone. A complex wine with great aging potential.

The Cakebreads exemplify their dedication to quality through years of family teamwork, sustainability, and a sharp focus on fruit and terroir expression, earning them certification as a Napa Green Winery since 2008.

Red blends of this type rarely shine as brightly. This ultra concentrated and smooth-textured blend including Merlot, Petite Sirah and Malbec is inky dark in color, luxurious aromatic of blueberries, blackcurrants and mint followed by oak spices and dark chocolate on the palate. Creamy in texture, it is laden in massive but melted tannins.

This wine presents a harmonious blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha (Grenache), and Graciano grapes. Aged for 18 months in oak barrels, it acquires a smooth mouthfeel with nuanced hints of toasty cocoa and vanilla complementing its core of dark fruit, cherry, and licorice flavors. Barbera d’Alba Superiore La Lisi boasts an intense ruby red hue with garnet reflections.
