Cantina Girlan is a cooperative winery located in the Alto Adige (South Tyrol/Südtirol) region, dating back to 1923 with 23 winegrowers. Today the winery belongs to 200 winegrowing families on a total of 230 hectares; hence, each grower farms an average of 1,15 ha. Grapes are harvested by hand and sustainable methods are utilized to protect the soil and overall environment. Native grape varieties, such as Pinot Bianco, Pinot Noir and Vernatsch (Schiava) are the focus.
Made from 100% Vernatsch, aka Schiava, this light bodied red wine has pretty notes of strawberries, ripe raspberries, lemon peel and rose petals.

This is smooth and elegant, like a Burgundy wine—nice notes of strawberry and cherry with an earthy undercurrent.

Bouquet: Lifted red cherry and plum notes, with a subtle suggestion of blackberry, thyme, cedar, anise, and savoury pie crust.

The Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo is a full-bodied and elegant red wine produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Barolo subregion of Piedmont, Italy. The Hospices de Beaune is a prestigious 60ha estate whose wines are auctioned every year in support of charity. This auction has existed since 1859, is the oldest in the world and has 48 cuvees available for donors to have their names printed on it. Albert Bichot has been the leading buyer for 15 years at this world-renowned auction.
Albert Bichot is a five-generation family-owned property having owned land in Burgundy's Cote d'Or since the 1830's. The current owner, Alberic Bichot is respectful of his family's traditions yet entirely focused on the future: converting to organic viticulture, adapting to new markets, increasing exposure to Burgundy wines, and much more. The vineyards now total six estates from Chablis in the north to Beaujolais in the south.
This white wine is 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the prestigious Charlemagne vineyard in the village of Aloxe-Corton of Burgundy. The nose is intense with notes of lemon curd, citrus pith, nutmeg and rich, nutty complexity. The palate is mouth-filling with balanced acidity and a spicy, smooth, long finish. This white wine will only get better with age. Pair with cauliflower puree, braised fennel and sea scallops.

Roeno Enantio Valdadige is a red wine produced by the Roeno winery located in the Valdadige DOC region of Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy. This wine is made from the Enantio grape variety, which is grown on the winery's estate vineyards and undergoes a maceration process with the skins for about 12 days.

On the nose, this wine has intense aromas of red berries, with hints of spice and licorice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a good balance of acidity and tannins. Flavors of red currant, black cherry, and a hint of tobacco are present, with a long and persistent finish.

As the winery's most important and awarded wine, Sor Ugo represents the elegance and strength of Bolgheri. A "Super Tuscan" Bordeaux-blend created by the prominent enologist Tibor Gal, it is named after Ugo, the first Pellegrini family member who started to work with grapes and wines a century ago

This 100% Timorasso is native to the Tortona area in Piemonte. The ancient name is Derthona and often seen on the labels. Before nearing extinction, this grape was brought back to life by Walter Massa, knowing there was great potential. The grape ages remarkably well and will resemble a dry Riesling with five years of age or more. This single vineyard of Costa del Vento shows aromas and flavours of white flowers, stone fruits, and bright citrus. It will always have high acidity and be voluptuous. These wines can sometimes border on feeling "alcoholic" so chill to temper and decant for best tasting experience.

This wine is known for its intense aromas of red fruits, roses, and spices, with a complex and elegant flavor profile that includes notes of cherry, licorice, and tobacco. The tannins are firm and well-structured, providing a long and persistent finish. This wine is aged for at least two years in oak barrels, which adds depth and complexity to its flavor. M. Chapoutier Chante-Alouette is a biodynamic, organic white wine from France's Hermitage appellation, made from 100% Marsanne grapes. It is known for its brilliant green-gold color and complex aromas of quince, walnut, honey, ginger, and acacia. The palate features a smooth, elegant attack and a long, persistent finish with almond notes, making it a versatile food pairing wine.

The Blasted Church Vineyards Pinot Gris VQA is described as having a vibrant nose with notes of Granny Smith apple, pear, and honey, along with a palate featuring ripe orchard fruit, lemon, and lime, all balanced by lively acidity. The wine has a golden straw color and a well-balanced finish.

A market improvement on the previous vintage, this affordable Chard from the warm, inland Riverina region of New South Wales takes a little time to find its way out of the glass, but when it does knit together it offers notes of lemon zest, florals, oatmeal and toast. Acidity on the palate feels a touch forced, but overall there's lovely texture, bright fruit and a refreshing lack of heavy barrel work. Christina Pickard

A sweet fortified red made from a blend of wines aged for an average of 30 years in oak casks before being bottled. Complex in its aromas and flavors, it shows ripe, jammy fruit followed by floral notes, herbs and sweet spices and dried fruit, plums and licorice, all supported and balanced by refreshing acidity and a firm, creamy texture. Alcohol 20%.

Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, soft brightening on the rim. Nuances of pickled cherries underlaid with a touch of white chocolate, tobacco notes, dried figs in the background and a floral touch. Medium complexity, ripe plums, vivid, somewhat demanding tannins, nougat on the finish, shows good length, a peppery finish and overall, a touch rustic.

One of the two most commercially important red grapes grown in Greece, Agiorgitiko is a light, lively variety that does especially well in the Pelopponese, where Papagiannakos is located. This wine exhibits a nose of playful spice and appetizing flavors of red berry and black currant. Mellow and balanced, it will pair well with heartier meat dishes as well as tomato-based pastas and poultry.

From the iconic Vega Sicilia brand, the Pintia is from Toro where tempranillo is called Tinto de Toro. These wines boast intense color and depth, presenting a cherry red hue with cardinal edges. The nose is broad, clean, expressive, and elegant, featuring great fruity intensity wrapped in subtle, high-quality wood. On the palate, it offers a robust structure, good tannic presence, and a friendly, fresh, and persistent finish with floral hints in the retro nasal.

The Guigal Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde is a renowned red wine from the northern Rhône Valley. This blend primarily features Syrah, with a small amount of Viognier, which adds a layer of aromatic complexity. Expect rich, intense flavors of dark fruit, black pepper, and smoky bacon, alongside subtle floral notes. The wine is known for its robust structure, fine tannins, and a long, elegant finish. It’s a superb example of Cote Rotie’s signature style—powerful yet refined.

Another great wine from the Casale del Giglio winemaking family. Not only are the native varieties a specialty, but they have a solid foundation for some of the rarer French grape varieties also.  A native of the Jurançon region in the foothills of the French Atlantic Pyrenees, the small-berried, thick-skinned Petit Manseng grape from which this white wine is made, is more highly regarded than its larger-berried sibling, Gros Manseng. Antonio Santarelli and his visionary enologist Paolo Tiefenthaler recognized the huge potential of this grape variety in the fertile grounds in their Lazio vineyards. The wine is intensely aromatic, fruity and spicy on the nose, fresh, crisp and flinty on the palate. An exquisitely structured wine which bows out on a seductive, fruit-filled finish. A truly stunning wine for the price. 

The wine region Carinena is located in the province of Zaragoza and is one of the oldest protected European production regions. It is the only region that actually gives the name to one of the main red grape varieties of Spain and southern France – Carinena and Carignan respectively. A high elevation vineyard and low yields produce an elegant expression of this grape variety. The fermentation takes place with wild yeasts. A soft extraction and light pressing ensure that the tannins are not too strong and are well integrated in the final blend. A beautiful expression of a rare 100% varietal Carinena.

Bright yellow-gold with golden highlights, this wine boasts strong aromatic intensity. The nose is rich and open, featuring exotic fruits, white flowers, caramel, and vanilla against a backdrop of toasted bread. Fresh on the palate with an opulent, smooth, and round body, it finishes with good aromatic persistence of fruit, balanced by acidity and roundness.

Traditii Feteasca Neagra, or Black Maiden, is a semi-dry wine offering a delicate sweetness balanced by fresh acidity. It showcases flavors of black fruits like plums and blueberries, complemented by nuanced notes of chocolate and vanilla. This ruby wine with purple reflections greets you with aromas full of personality, ranging from grassy notes and chocolate to spices and strong fruity scents of blackberries, blackcurrants, and black cherries. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, it's best served between 15 to 18 degrees Celsius. It pairs beautifully with veal, beef, lamb, dry sausages, fattier fish, spicy cuisine, and mature cheeses, making it a versatile and delightful choice for any meal.

The wine presents a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections. It boasts a great expression on the nose, offering pleasant hints of yeast and sweet almond, with a nuanced aromatic background typical of Chardonnay. Trento DOC is not well known among the sparkling world, but truly a hidden gem. This blanc de blanc is 100% Chardonnay and spends 48 months on the lees – the usual ageing time is typically more than a traditional Champagne at a fraction of the price. Trento DOC represents great value, and the Roeno is no exception. This is a sparkling of great expression with pleasant hints of yeast and sweet almond, and a nuanced aromatic background typical of Chardonnay.

Another little gem from the oldest family winery in Italy. Since 1141, Ricasoli has been producing wines of great character and quality. Made from 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, the wine is aged for 9 months in used tonneaux.

The nose begins with floral and fruity notes, gradually transitioning to umami with hints of balsamic vinegar and tar, blending with violets, roses, figs, and plums. The palate combines juiciness and earthiness, with gritty, almost sandy tannins enhancing the earthy profile.

Critic tasting note: "This powerful, full-bodied yet velvety wine boasts complex aromatics, muscular tannins and deep, uber-ripe fruit flavors. The wine is rich in aromas of cinnamon, cedar and vanilla followed by black currants, blueberries and dark chocolate on the palate." - 94/100, Wine Enthusiast

Displaying a burnished ruby hue, this wine exudes prominent notes of smoke, tobacco, and dark, mouthwatering fruit. It showcases commendable concentration, with a refreshing quality heightened by a brisk zing on the finish.

Kanonkop Estate, renowned for crafting some of the finest red wines in the Cape, is celebrated as a South African "First Growth." This fourth-generation family farm, currently managed by brothers Johann and Paul Krige, has been under the stewardship of the Sauer-Krige family since the early 1930s.

This classic Simonsberg Cabernet captures a remarkable coolness, even within the context of a warm vintage. Its perfumed nose is a complex bouquet of blackcurrants, fennel, cigar box, tea leaf, and the native "fynbos" shrub. On the palate, the wine is delicate and fresh, embodying an austere charm reminiscent of the old world. Grainy tannins enhance its earthy profile, leading to a lengthy finish nuanced with subtle hints of licorice.

Eucalyptus, woodland berry, rose and baking spice aromas take shape in the glass. This is all about finesse and energy, doling out flavors of juicy red cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon and licorice alongside a backbone of fine-grained tannins and bright acidity.
