"LVNAE is named after the ancient "Portus Lunae" (the Port of the moon), one of the most important cities and ports of the ancient Roman Empire. It was established in 1966 by Paolo Bosoni, who transformed the winery by combining farming wisdom and business acumen. He is now joined by his children Debora and Diego. Lunae currently represents the largest winery in Liguria with an annual total production of approx. 780,000 bottles and a total of 85Ha. 50Ha are family-owned vineyards in the hills of Luni and Castelnuovo Magra and, in part, on the plain surrounding the ruins of the ancient city of Luni. 15Ha are on long-term leases and the other 20ha are from approximately 150 local growers who, supported by the company's technical staff, contribute their small grape production, keeping alive traditions and the unique quality of the wine.
The focus is on Vermentino which is distinguished by a selection of different vines and vinification and perfectly reflects the nature of the soil and unique climate which favors crisp, acidic, mineral whites and fruity, fresh reds. The red wines are Sangiovese-based blended with local varietals such as Massareta, Pollera Nera and Sangiovese (Sangiovese is very widespread in this area due to its proximity to Tuscany - 2 km only to the border)."

Righetti’s Amarone is produced from selected Corvina (70%), Rondinella (20%) and other indigenous varietals (10%) grown in the hills of the Valpolicella Classico DOC. The finest bunches of ripe grapes are placed in shallow wood crates and left to dry over a period of 3-5 months. Thereafter, the grapes are pressed, the juice is fermented to dryness, and the wine is aged in large casks of Slavonian oak.
Full-bodied and rich with aromas of dried fruit, plums, black cherry and a distinct “earthy” note. The wine will continue to evolve in the bottle over the next 5 to 10 years. What remains is a highly extracted fruit-driven wine that presents with 15.2% Alc.

The Vecchia Modena Premium Lambrusco di Sorbara represents the history both of the Chiarli wine Company and of Lambrusco wine itself. The bottle and label are reproductions of an 1892 bottlethe oldest existing bottle containing Lambruscothat is still treasured in the Chiarli archives today. Chiarli Vecchia Modena won the first international recognition by a Lambrusco wine at the World Expo in Paris in 1900. "A custom Cuvee created by importer Eric Solomon, the IGP Cotes Catalanes Novellum is a smokin’ value that’s made from 100% Chardonnay that spent three months in a tank (on Viognier lees) followed by three months in barrel. Tasting like it cost three times the price, it offers lots of orchard fruits, white peach, honeysuckle and a hint of vanilla to go with a medium to full-bodied, crisp, yet still textured and mouth-filling style on the palate. Caymus Special Selection is always a selection of the best barrels that play to a style constantly pushing the limits of richness and concentration, in this case, clocking in at 16% alcohol. The nose is slightly cooked and raisiny with plenty of cassis, chocolate, and coffee spilling onto the palate. Blackberry jam, pipe tobacco and brown spices line a richly dark, dense tannin finish. It is only made in the best years, but I wouldn’t mind if this was throttled back a bit.
