Henry Pelham Riesling VQA is a pale straw-colored wine with aromatic notes of grapefruit and juniper, mineral, and floral elements, according to LCBO and Willow Park Wines & Spirits. Château de Montfrin has been in Jean-René de Fleurieu’s family since 1925 when his grandfather purchased the château and the vineyards. Jean-René took over in 2004 and today is supported by his daughter Aurore and Estate Manager Benjamin Beguin in the operation of the winery and its 100 hectares of organically farmed vineyards. In addition to vineyards, the estate also has olive groves. Looking after the land is a love affair for Jean-René and Benjamin. This is where they grew up, established roots and feel at home. The vineyards are spread out and are located in four different appellations: Pont du Gard, Costières de Nîmes, Côtes du Rhône, and Côtes du Rhône Villages. The vines grow in hallowed farmland made up of contrasting terrain, from the vast silty soils of the plains along the majestic Rhône to the sunny hillside of its banks and the stony plateaus of its now abandoned riverbeds.

This is a harmonious blend dominated by fully ripened Grenache (80%) with 15% Syrah and 5% of Carignan. An inviting aroma of spice, followed by notes of black fruit. An exquisite fusion of Garnacha and Cariñena (Carignan), offering a compelling alternative to Cotes du Rhone. Camino del Bosque, made with 60% Garnacha and 40% Cariñena, is sourced from the village of Almonacid de la Sierra in Zaragoza. The former undergoes fermentation in stainless steel, while the latter takes on the process in concrete and oak, utilizing indigenous yeasts. Maintaining a meticulous aging process, thirty percent of the blend matures in concrete, around 5% in clay pots (tinaja), and the remainder in oak barriques and oak vats over a 14-month period. Campania's favourite winemaker, Mastroberardino's entry level white is a blend of four native varieties: Coda di Volpe, Greco, Fiano and Falanghina. The nose recalls fresh flowers, pineapple, peach and citrus fruits, while on the palate, good freshness with balanced acidity and notes of citrus and exotic fruit.

Arnaldo Rivera was a local primary school teacher, mayor of his village for 36 years, and founder in 1958 of the Terre del Barolo winery, which still today is the only direct cooperative wine cellar in the entire supply chain in the Barolo production area. Verduno might be one of the 12 communes allowed to put ‘Barolo’ on the label, yet besides the great grape Nebbiolo, they are famous for the native Pelaverga grape, which you can find most locals drinking in caffes.

The Aldegheri family has been in operation since 1956. Now in the 2 nd generation, they are proving to be around for a very long time to come. The Pietramara follows all the same principles of Amarone, yet at a fraction of the price.

100% Arinto, the wine has an intense aroma dominated by citrus, mineral and elegant spicy notes. Complex flavor, and acidity combining perfectly with mineral freshness. Celler Mas D'En Peri Garnatxa

"Two rows per terrace, licorice soils, vines formed with a single arm and a very unproductive rootstock, make up my landscape and my life.

Mas d’en Perí is a farmhouse dating from the middle of the s. XIX The previous owner made wines on the farm, and there are still some remains of the old cellar at the Mas. My family acquired it at the end of the 50s and I am the third generation to work the land but the first to venture into making wine.

17 ha make up the farm but at the moment there are only 4 planted. 15 years ago, my father decided to plant Grenache and Carignan. Now with the growth of the project, I have decided to plant 3 ha more of white varieties and a little more Grenache.

The roots of Domaine Parent date back to the 17th century. Currently the domaine is being run by the 12th generation - Anne Parent and her sister Catherine Fages-Parent. Anne is self-taught, following the lunar cycle and principles of biodynamics to express all the peculiarities of each plot. The small 1.3ha site of Les Croix Noires is located just south of Pommard village. Strong, yet elegant, this Pinot Noir is well-balanced in structure between wood/tannins and acidity.

Valbuena is the pure expression of a red at Vega Sicilia, with an ageing of five years from barrel to
bottle, which gives it its name, Valbuena 5º (5th year). 225-litre French and American oak barrels,
both new and used, 8,500-litre vats are used in a long and complex process for perhaps, the wine
which has evolved the most over the last few years.
Valbuena 5º presents its splendor in each vintage and a direct view of the greatness of its soil,
where the weather conditions each year make a clear distinction on the vintage.

Anne Parent and her sister Catherine are the 12th generation of the family running the Domaine. The Les Chaponnieres vineyard is 2.89ha lying south of the village of Pommard, above the Les Croix vineyard. The wines here have fleshy fruit, with aspicy nose, raspberry and cherry hints, together hints of licorice.

Deep garnet-purple in colour, the Cabernet Sauvignon Estate needs a lot of swirling and coaxing to unlock notions of blackcurrant pastilles, warm black plums and mulberries, plus hints of black olives, tilled soil, mossy tree bark and violets with emerging baker's chocolate and star anise hints. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and with impeccable poise, it has beautifully ripe, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing epically long and earthy.

Gorgeous blackberry and currant aromas with hints of herbs. Wonderfully varietal character. Full-bodied with tannins that frame the wine so nicely and create a long, lightly chewy finish. Fantastic wine.

Les Millandes premier Cru is an east facing sit and close to the GC of Clos de la Roche, growing 100% pinot noir. The soils are the same in both sites, resulting in similar wines. Les Millandes is always supple and seductive with dusty chocolate notes, along with the typical aromas of red berries, warm barking spices and earth. The tannins are structured, yet fine.

Gerard Raphet and now with his daughter Marion, farm the small plots of nearly 100-year-old Pinot Noir vines in Morey St. Denis and surrounding area. Raphet is shy and prefers to let the majesty of his Pinot Noir wines do the talking. Clos de Vougeot is a highly regarded appellation with over 80 producers owning very small plots. As such, the wines vary considerably in both style and quality. Raphet's wines are amongst some of the best wines produced here, with grapes coming from 60-80 year old vines. The rsulting wine is structured, yet suave with notes of raspberry, black cherry, earth and baking spices.

Vini Franchetti 20th Anni Special Edition 2019 is a red wine produced by Vini Franchetti, a winery located on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. This wine is made from a blend of the native grape varieties Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Etna. The grapes are fermented with native yeasts and aged for 14 months in oak barrels, resulting in a wine with intense aromas of dark fruit, spice, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with flavors of black cherry, blackcurrant, and hints of earthiness. The tannins are firm and well-structured, giving the wine a long and satisfying finish.

The bouquet is excellent, very deep, all about the fruit. Just a few strawberries but the raspberry dominates. Perhaps some deep red cherry too. Friuli-Venezia Giulia is one of the smallest regions in Italy, yet also one of the mightiest. With a plethora of indigenous grape varieties not grown outside of the region, and even fewer producers that are embracing them, Zidarich is truly one of the best.

There are many “malvasia” named grapes within Italy, with some more quality than others. One of the best Malvasia grapes is Istriana, grown in the Friuli region as well as neighbouring Slovenia. Benjamin Zidarich practices biodynamic viticulture, picking grapes and bottling wine according to the phases of the moon. He will tell you that the grapes are grown by the sun and the earth, and the wine is grown by the moon.  The nose has notes of white peaches, oriental mixed spices, mineral, and stony notes. Maceration on the skins will give the wine slight tannins that overlay crunchy stone fruits, savoury herbs, and crushed stony minerality. 

Terrano is one of the few red grapes of the Carso region, and much rarer than its Tazzelenghe or Schioppettino counterparts. Yet, the quality is unmistakable as the grape expresses the terroir very well. In fact, the grape name means “red earth” due to the soil it’s grown in. There is a certain Barbera-like quality to the crunchy, earth-tinged red fruits and the bright, zingy acidity of the wine, yet there is more finesse and purity. Fresh herbs and red licorice on the palate add complexity, and the concentration is surprising given its exceedingly modest alcohol level, typically never exceeding 12.5% alcohol. A unique wine, but well suited to the North American palate.
