A perfect summer red, this refreshing, light-bodied wine from Alto-Adige in northern Italy, is made with the indegenous Schiava (group of) grapes. Three grapes in this group, often co-planted can sometimes also be known as Vernatsch. The wine is packed full of bright red cherry, strawberry and sweet almond sensations. In order to craft a harmonious dry Gewürztraminer it requires skill and vision. Christian succeeded with his dry interpretation of this very eccentric and aromatic grape variety. A beautiful nose of rose petals, ripe yellow fruit, and pear with elegance and smooth acidity. A dry Gewürztraminer that is a testament to the skill of the grower. It delivers all the exotic notes that we associate with this grape variety while inviting us to enjoy another glass with its clean and refreshing finish. Remarkable.

Negro Amaro, a black grape grown in Puglia, the heel of Italy's boot, is often misspelled: unlike what is seen on many labels, it is two distinct words and should be written that way. Started more than a century ago two Piemontese, a lawyer (Mosca) and and Engineer (Sella) fell in love with the land and started working the soil and planting vines. Cannonau, aka Garnacha is the most grown red grape in Sardinia. Intense and warm it expresses floral notes of violets and roses, red cherry, red currant and elegant spice notes. The palate is well balanced, fresh with silky tannins and a long finish.

Crama Ceptura's Astrum Feteasca Neagra is a dry, full-bodied red wine from Romania's Dealu Mare region, featuring flavors of dark fruit (like plum and blackberry), spices, smoke, and vanilla, with a velvety texture and soft tannins. Powerful and rich-tasting, this wine from Joseph Wagner is velvety in texture and spicy in aroma. It drips with jammy, Port-like flavors that are backed by fine-grained tannins that tighten a bit on the finish for a good grip.

The nose is fruity and offers a fine grain and a fine power. Gigondas legend Louis Barruol purchases grapes from the Gard to produce this 100% Syrah Côtes-du-Rhône bottling. Plump and generous in mouthfeel, it's an undeniably southern, sun-drenched expression of Syrah but with a cutting mineral freshness and salty tang on the finish. Soft tannins and hints of bramble and cut stone rim flavors of rich, ruddy black-cherry and plum preserves. Best enjoyed young.

This aromatic white wine comes from one of Italy's smallest wine regions. Known as the "Italian Riviera", Liguria is a narrow coastal strip that lies between the Ligurian Sea and the Maritime Alps and the Apennines. An area with little cultivable land, most of Liguria's wines are consumed locally. Owned by the Bosoni family, Cantine Lunae is one of the few Ligurian producers that has a presence in international markets. Based in the eastern Ligurian appellation of Colli di Luni, the winery is renowned for its Vermentino dominated wines. A wonderful match for Liguria's exceptional seafood driven cuisine, Vermentino is known for its balanced acidity and minerality. For the Labianca, Cantine Lunae added 20% Malvasia to the blend to boost the wine's aromatics. Aged on the fine lees for 4 months in steel tanks, it displays tropical notes of passionfruit, mango, and white peach.

Tasting Notes
Wines from Puligny-Montrachet are typified by aromas and flavors of green apple and lemon and tend to be tauter and firmer on the palate compared to wines from neighboring villages. Aging in a small percentage of new French oak barrels lends accents of toast and vanilla. Structured white wines with high acid and grip, Puligny-Montrachet is destined for long aging.

Food Pairing
White Burgundy, with its rich texture and toasted flavors, pairs well with white fish and shellfish and its naturally high acidity can counterbalance cream-based sauces. Oak-aged Chardonnay from warmer climates lends itself well to grilled fish, starches, butter, and toasted nuts.

Chablis 1er Montmains is a 1er Cru from the left bank. The name of this climate evokes "the middle mountain", that which is at an intermediate altitude between two higher coasts. The orientation is south-east, the slopes can reach 20%.
The soils are fairly shallow and the Kimmeridgian limestone does not take long to appear. The soils are stony and well draining.

For the past 150 years Louis Jadot has continued as one of the great names of Burgundy and has gained international reputation for its superb red and white Burgundy wines. Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d'Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.Les Couchereaux vineyard is situated on top of the slope, in the middle of the commune and has a southern exposure of well drained soils. The resulting 100% pinot noir shows ripe fruits of raspberry and cherry, with hints of spice and smoky character. Dense and structured it is rich and warm.

This Auslese (late harvest) wine from Weingut Bergdolt-Reif Nett is a classic example of Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) from the Pfalz region. It has a deep golden color with aromas of ripe peach, apricot, and honey. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied with flavors of baked apple, pear, and a touch of spice. Rooted in the rich heritage of Puglia, the Pajaru estate celebrates the figure of the shepherd, or "Picuraru" in dialect, symbolizing the slow, seasonal, and steadfast labor paralleled in the meticulous care of vineyards to forge exceptional wines. Inspired by the shepherds' resilience and dedication, Primitivo "PICURARU" was born—a majestic deep ruby red wine that unfurls intense aromas of ripe red fruit on the nose, transforming into layered notes of plum, cocoa, leather, and black pepper on the palate. The family owns 18 hectares between La Morra, Serralunga d'Alba, Monforte d'Alba, including 4 Barolo Cru's: R56 (Brandini), Annunziata, Meriame and Cerretta. Langhe Nebbiolo is the finest and most elegant bottled expression of this grape variety. An intense and subtle color at the same time, anticipates a structure and tannin that are typical of Nebbiolo. The land of La Morra, with its sandy percentage, reveals the more feminine nuance of this wine, giving a silky tannin and a good persistence in the mouth. If Barolo is too expensive, try a Langhe Nebbiolo.

From the Bolgheri DOC, the Poggio Al Tesoro is owned by the Allegrini family of Valpolicella fame. Named after the Seggio river that crosses the vineyard, it is a blend of 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. The nose exhibits lovely fresh, crunchy fruit, enriched with mineral and spicy notes. The palate is medium bodied with hints of red berries and elegant silky tannins. A great wine for the price point!

Pale cherry-pink. Pleasant nose combining redcurrant, cherry, a floral element and a touch of eucalyptus. Energetic attack opening up to lovely aromatic intensity. The structure is light and invigorating and the narrative is clear and without artifice in this lovely wine.

Nose of jammy blueberry, red cherry and pepper. Lively acidity and structure give this wine a full mouthfeel with notes of raspberry, mineral and dark chocolate with a lingering finish. SR (11/22)
