Named for the Norman princess who lived around Cirò in the 11th century, the Mabilia is made from 100% Gaglioppo grapes. The juice is left on the skins for 24 hours, with only a delicate pink colour extracted, and the resulting wine being very fruity with notes of watermelon, red cherry, and roses. Fresh, lively, and fruity, this rosato is a great match for chicken, turkey and fish dishes.

The true home of Fiano is Campania, but it grows in the heel of Italy's boot (Puglia) very well also. Rivera makes wines that capture the exuberance that is Puglia. This example is highly aromatic with white flowers, yellow fruits and smoky notes and a multi-layered palate with an acidity that balances all components.

The Ricasoli Ceniprimo Chianti Classico is a red wine made from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany, Italy. Wine grower Marcello Zaccagnini founded this winery in 1978, since which time his little small-town farm has grown to reach an international audience. However, it hasn't lost touch with its roots; each bottle is wrapped with a small dry vine cutting from the vineyards. Carpano Antica Formula is a premium Italian sweet vermouth, famous for its rich vanilla bouquet, complex notes of dried fruits (figs, prunes, dates), spices (cloves, orange peel), bitter citrus, and a long, silky finish, making it a "gold standard" for cocktails like Manhattans or enjoyed neat, crafted from a historic 1786 recipe with high-quality wines and botanicals.

This wine boasts a distinctive coppery hue, achieved by leaving the must on the skins overnight! Aromas of ripe pear, apricot, and floral notes are enriched with hints of almonds and a touch of spice. Another great wine from the winemaking team at Casale del Giglio, this is another "petit" wine, although there's nothing little about it. Typically the grape used in Bordeaux blends to provide the tannic backbone, it's seen more and more often as a monovarietal wine. The Petit Verdot is part of a special research project that was launched in 1985 with the goal to identify maximize the territory’s potential for quality viticulture. Finding ideal growing conditions with respect to climate, elevation, and soil, the Petit Verdot matures into an elegant and full-bodied red wine with great berry flavours. Velvety and ripe tannins provide a great backbone. A complex wine with great aging potential.

Established in 1869, this family-operated winery stands as one of the most venerable estates in Alto Adige. Now run by Elena Walch and her two daughters, their name is synonymous with quality. Made from 100% Lagrein, a grape indigenous to the area, is one of the most tannic grapes in all of Italy. The wines produced from this grape are characterized by their freshness and elegance, offering notes of berry, spice, and cocoa, complemented by firm tannins. Try with meat heavier meats, such as wild game, bison and beef steak.

Bright straw colour; intense bouquet of peach and acacia flowers, chamomile, melon and yellow flowers. Inviting and fresh with a typical note of a slightly bitter finish. Splendid accompaniment for antipasti and springtime first courses including omelets with wild herbs, savory pies, vegetable soups, stuffed squash blossoms, freshwater seafood and ‘vitello tonnato’ (veal cutlets with tuna sauce). Excellent as an aperitivo.

Casa Raia was purchased in 2006 by Frenchman Pierre Jean Monnoyer who restored the old vineyards and began producing natural wines with three labels, the "supertuscan" Bevilo, a Sangiovese Rose and this Brunello di Montalcino. Made with 100% Sangiovese (as required by law) this ageable beauty is elegant with a nose of cherry, cinnamon, thyme and hints of pencil shavings and earth. Certainly one of the best "natural" wines out there.

Cusomano is a quality winery with grapevines located all across Sicily. The grillo grape is grown in the northeast part of the island on sandy loam soils that is the perfect terroir for this variety to bring out the natural freshness and sapidity that increase the character and elegance of this grape. Mastroberardino is definitely one of the founding fathers of winemaking in Campania, and put grapes like Fiano and Aglianico on the world wine map. Taurasi is a DOCG area for the Aglianico grape and represents history and culture of Irpinia viticulture. The wine offers complex, intense and rich notes of cherry, violets and spice. In the commune of La Morra, Sergio Molino vinifies wine from only 2.5 ha of Nebbiolo vines. The Molino family vineyards, bottled under the Ernesto Molino label is an homage to Sergio's father. Like many micro-wineries, it's a "hands-off" approach, allowing the terroir to speak for itself. Cranberry, violet, hints of vanilla and even an iron note, put this one away for a while to let those austere tannins settle down. Best after 2027.
