John Dewar & Sons Ltd has unveiled a 12-year-old expression from its Macduff distillery, previously recognized as Glen Deveron but now rebranded as the Deveron. On the palate, it offers a medium-bodied texture with a gentle spiciness, featuring butterscotch and Brazil nuts, followed by a subtle hint of licorice. The finish is marked by dry, spicy oak notes, complemented by a touch of caramel, adding depth to the overall experience.

Finished in Lustau oloroso sherry butts, look for an amber hue and a rich aroma that suggests dried figs and dates. The palate benefits from a splash of water, which coaxes cocoa and prune notes, winding into a warming finish with cinnamon and clove heat.

A pale gold, light-bodied spirit with a brisk feel and hearty alcohol sting. The scent landed somewhere between smoky and menthol, bringing to mind menthol cigarettes. But the flavor was warm and honey-like.

This first cask-strength expression in Highland Park’s core range was matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned American oak. Honey, bonfire smoke, orange peel, and a suggestion of treacle on the nose. Sweet and smoky on the palate, with toffee and orchard fruits turning more citric in time. The finish yields sweet spices, more honey, dark chocolate, black pepper, and bonfire embers.

In 1854, Hiram Walker, an American entrepreneur with interests in the flour and grain industry, ventured into whisky production in Detroit. At the time, many grain merchants and millers dabbled in whisky production as a means of utilizing surplus grain and milling by-products. However, with Michigan's burgeoning temperance movement threatening prohibition, Walker relocated his distillery across the Detroit River to Windsor, Ontario in 1858. To differentiate his Canadian-produced whisky from American counterparts and to denote its higher quality, Walker branded his product "Canadian Club." This whisky boasts a nose redolent of vanillans, with subtle notes of crystallized sugar and fresh fruit. On the palate, it reveals a rich complexity, showcasing stone fruits like plum and dried apricot, with oak undertones that are well-balanced despite its aging. The finish is long and harmonious, making it a standout whisky.

Honey, vanilla, peppercorn, Golden Delicious apples, macadamia nut, green banana, and clove-spiked orange. The flavors are bright with green apple, banana, vanilla, and citrus, developing a delicious creaminess to support the pot still spices. The creaminess really crowns this older whiskey as something special, with the bourbon wood playing a greater role than in younger, jammier Redbreasts. The finish is wonderfully long and warming, with spice, tangy orange, and oak.

A complex palate with a creamy mouthfeel of plum, stewed fruits, baked citrus, gentle spices, and ground hazelnut, becoming mellow and nutty with smoke, spice, and fruit through the finish.

This scorching hot 32-year-old Speyside single malt was carefully aged at the Tomatin distillery starting from 1988, and recently bottled for the revitalized Connoisseurs Choice series by Gordon & MacPhail on March 15, 2021. Drawn from refill American hogshead number 6656 at its natural cask strength of 54.6% ABV, this rare release comprises just 145 bottles, each elegantly presented in a lovely oak presentation case.

Big and very eventful with a great adventure of aroma and flavour journey. Pecan notes, nutty with a bit flapjack, then some grape skin and floral flavours, a little rose and berries, blackberry - fresh and fruity.

A blend of 95% rye-grain flavoring whisky with a variety of base whiskies. Its big whisky cocktails will tempt mixers into sipping. Very fruity and floral, with prunes, peaches, red apple skins, and bouquets of spring flowers all boosted by vibrant peppery spices on a slightly oaky base. Crown Royal’s signature balsam resin note and hints of vanilla round it out. The long, spicy finish ends with hints of citrus pith. A complex, tightly woven blend.

This is a luxurious brandy with rich flavors of baked plum, lemon meringue, and French vanilla. An admirable sweetness leads the palate and saturates the tongue with delicious dessert-like flavors of pastry and cream.

Rebecca Creek Distillers had the opportunity to age their bourbon for up to four years in new Spanish Oak barrels in the attempt to produce a bourbon whose taste and colour resembled whiskey that was twice its age. The whiskey was then aged for a further two years in second-fill American Oak barrels to complete the unique, dual-aged maturation process. The mashbill for this whiskey is: 75% Corn, 21% Rye and 4% Malted Barley and it is bottled at true cask strength.

This crisp, fruity wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay in Varnier Fannière's Côte des Blancs vineyards. It has a citrus flavor, with touches of green plum and quince, and a tight, mineral character. Ideally, this should be aged for a year, but it is drinkable now.

Bags of orris root florality. This gin would work exceptionally well in an Aviation cocktail. Lingers well, nice texture. Pine could be boosted tbh.

Extraordinarily aromatic, with notes of overripe banana, green papaya, molasses, toasted almond, and fermented mango. The palate offers more decadent notes of milk chocolate and spiced figs, but not without a peppery kick and touch of funk that this distillery is known for. Outstanding.
