Adelphi presents this bottling of 2015 vintage Welsh whisky from the lovely Penderyn Distillery. It was aged for 8 years in a single cask which filled 247 bottles at 56.9% ABV. This single malt is presented without chill-filtration and with its natural colour.

The "Third Chapter" of this distillery's "Renaissance Series," this 17-year-old Glen Garioch whisky was originally available only in select whisky shops and the distillery’s visitor center. Positioned just below the 18-year-old offering, it is matured in a mix of sherry and former Bourbon casks, delivering a warm, well-aged dram with an excellent balance of spirit and cask types. At 50.8% ABV, it offers notes of Seville orange marmalade, dried apricots in syrup, burnt sugar, vanilla fudge, honey on buttered toast, milk chocolate, and cinnamon, embodying a classic Highlander with a spicy style and satisfying complexity!

The amontillado gives a more rounded feel and greater profundity to the single malt. Peaches, apricots, almonds, and soft ginger on the nose, Smooth and balanced on the palate, gently spiced and nutty, with cherries, caramel, discreet sherry, and vanilla. The medium-length finish features vanilla and lingering, spicy Jaffa oranges, drying slowly to oak.

The Shinobu Distillery, located in Niigata on Japan’s western coast, is renowned for its “Three White Treasures”: snow, rice, and sake. Master blender Mr. Usami Ken crafts Shinobu Pure Malt whiskies, blending malts aged in sherry and bourbon hogshead casks before finishing them in Japanese Mizunara Oak, known for its rich flavors of apples, pears, cloves, and nutmeg. The Shinobu Lightly Peated Pure Malt Whisky offers a robust body with smoky, toasty oak flavors. Unchill-filtered and free from added color, it preserves its complex character. The nose is minty and creamy with light peat and lemon hints, while the palate features moderate peat, toasted oak, and a hint of saltiness. The finish lingers with toasted wood sweetness and roasted malt.

This rare and complex 40-year-old single malt exhibits excellent depth and layered aromas and flavors of toffee, candied citrus, maple syrup, dried fruit, roasted nuts, and leather. The lush, rounded palate features hints of mocha, ginger, spice, and toasted oak on the finish. Best savoured on its own.

The third edition of the Mr. George Legacy Collection has arrived, featuring a 63-year-old single malt aged in First Fill Sherry casks and bottled at a bold 56.5% ABV. Named after George Urquhart, affectionately known as ‘Mr. George,’ this collection pays homage to his pivotal role in championing single malt whisky. Distilled on October 15th, 1959, and aged exclusively in cask no. 3665, a first-fill Sherry butt, this edition represents Gordon & MacPhail’s final cask from 1959. Bottled on November 2nd, 2022, this exceptional whisky captures the essence of Mr. George’s vision and legacy, making it a prized addition to any collection.

From the Glen Grant Distillery, the whisky was laid down in a Sherry cask in November of 1969. The Sherry cask invokes aromas of rich fruits and woody spices combining traces of wood polish and old leather. On the palate, find dried figs, and spice with an abundance of wood flavours and even sweet fudge nuances, and hints of bitter oak tannins. The finish is long and lingering with drying notes of cinnamon, clove and walnuts.

Glenfarclas 28 Year Old 1994 Family Casks Release S23 #2958 is a distinguished expression from one of Scotland’s most revered distilleries. PMC:01 embodies this story of place, marrying the rich fruitiness of Pomerol oak with Islay's maritime influences, resulting in a whisky that elegantly balances peat smoke with floral and fruit notes. The nose of this whisky evokes a maritime atmosphere, reminiscent of a beach bonfire with dry seaweed, followed by deeper notes of saltiness and marine elements, all underpinned by the scent of fresh linen. The Clynelish Distillery, situated in Brora, Highlands, Scotland, has a rich history dating back to 1819, with the current facility established in 1967 alongside the original Brora distillery. Initially struggling, it gained prominence in 1896 when acquired by Ainslie & Heilbron, later owned by John Risk. Despite closure in the 1930s, it operated during World War II. Clynelish is renowned as a premium Single Malt, notably used in Johnnie Walker blends. This 10-year-old edition, part of Diageo Special Releases 2023, is exclusively aged in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels.

Recently, a new “oldest Canadian whisky ever,” appears every year. In 2018, the honour goes to Canadian Club. Cedar lumber, fresh apricots, hints of bonfire, and sweet applewood on the nose. On the palate it’s butter tarts with vanilla, waves of pepper, pears, peaches, bonfire notes, and hints of pipe tobacco. Crisp, clean, and slightly bigger than Canadian Club 40 year old, the 41 is woodsy, silky, and mouth filling.

This new permanent addition to the Redbreast range is partially matured in ruby port casks, which have helped the vitality and the complexity of the finished whiskey while still delivering a remarkable intensity of red berry fruit. Orange peel, pine cone, vanilla, and walnut on the nose. Raspberry, cherry, plums, and active spices like a wildfire across the tongue, with pepper and chile heightened by the strength and menthol late on the finish.

Mildly smoky aromas entwine with vanilla. The bold palate opens with cigar wrapper, leather and maple, while a splash of water releases tinges of burnt orange peel, espresso and unsweetened chocolate. Nuanced oak and smoke wind into the mouthwatering, puckery finish.

The Mortlach 16 Year Old Distiller's Dram is a robust, 43.4% ABV Speyside single malt, matured exclusively in Sherry casks to complement the distillery’s famously "beasty," savory, and complex spirit. It is highly regarded for its deep, rich profile, offering notes of stewed fruits, dark berries, and earthy spice, with a creamy yet leathery texture.

Benriach The Smoky Twelve is a 12-year-old Speyside single malt, matured in bourbon, sherry, and Marsala wine casks, delivering a rich balance of sweet, creamy fruit and highland peat smoke. Bottled at 46% ABV, it features notes of dark chocolate, charred orange, vanilla, and roasted almonds, resulting in a smooth, multi-layered, and complex profile.

Kaiyo Whisky Japanese Mizunara Oak is a Japanese blended malt whisky matured in rare, handmade Mizunara oak casks and uniquely finished via a three-month ocean voyage. Known for its complex, aromatic profile, this whisky is un-chillfiltered, generally bottled at 43% ABV (or higher in cask strength expressions), and designed to showcase the influence of the porous, delicate Mizunara wood.

The Sovereign Port Dundas blended Scotch whisky is made using a combination of single malt whiskies from the closed Port Dundas distillery and other distilleries in Scotland.
