The Clynelish Distillery, situated in Brora, Highlands, Scotland, has a rich history dating back to 1819, with the current facility established in 1967 alongside the original Brora distillery. Initially struggling, it gained prominence in 1896 when acquired by Ainslie & Heilbron, later owned by John Risk. Despite closure in the 1930s, it operated during World War II. Clynelish is renowned as a premium Single Malt, notably used in Johnnie Walker blends. This 10-year-old edition, part of Diageo Special Releases 2023, is exclusively aged in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels.

Recently, a new “oldest Canadian whisky ever,” appears every year. In 2018, the honour goes to Canadian Club. Cedar lumber, fresh apricots, hints of bonfire, and sweet applewood on the nose. On the palate it’s butter tarts with vanilla, waves of pepper, pears, peaches, bonfire notes, and hints of pipe tobacco. Crisp, clean, and slightly bigger than Canadian Club 40 year old, the 41 is woodsy, silky, and mouth filling.

Maison Louis Jadot is one of the most trusted and revered wine houses in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. Frédéric Barnier, Jadot’s esteemed winemaker, and his team balance tradition and technology, focusing on the purest expression of each wine’s terroir.  Founded in 1859, the house now owns 528 acres of vineyards, including 280 acres of the Cote d’Or’s most prestigious Premier and Grand Cru plots. The Tollot-Beaut family is a based at Chorey-Les-Beaune with vineyards located in Beaune, Savigny, Aloxe-Corton and a small holding in Corton Charlemagne. This 100% Pinot Noir has ripe black cherry, black currant, violet and mineral notes. The palate is dense, yet elegant with ripe fruit and fine tannins. A consistently underrated site from a wonderful domaine.

Vivacious, bright, yellow citrus, lime, green apple, tangerine, and honeysuckle notes are there for the taking on the nose and palate. Crisp and energetic, with a long blast of zesty green apples, lemon peel and a hint of vanilla in the finish. This is among the best vintages of Cos d'Estournel Blanc ever produced. The wine blends 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Semillon.

The vineyards of Michel Mallard located in Ladoix-Serrigny at the foot of Corton Hill in the Cotes de Beaune encompass all levels of vineyard quality: Villages, Premier Cru Grand Cru. Red wines of Corton will typically be more structured than wines of Vougeout, but perhaps not as powerful as Pommard. The Grand Cru of Le Rognet is a complex wine with notes of buleberry, blackberry and blackcurrant with nuances of licorice and pepper. Smooth and velvety tannins, this wine will age for a surprisingly long time.

One of the great vineyards of Napa Valley, farmer Nathan Fay planted this in 1961. It was the first vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in the Stags' Leap District. Stag's Leap cellars purchased the vineyard in 1986 and it continues to be one of the signature wines of the lineup, garnering 90+ scores year after year. The 2019 shows dust, clove and graphite with secondary hints of violet, sage and tree bark. While this can be enjoyed now, it is recommended to cellar and enjoy from 2029-2039. This vintage scored a perfect 100 points with Wine Enthusiast

Michel Mallard'sLa Toppe au Vert extends over Corton hill's southeastern slope, the name referring to a "land of good exposure". This 100% pinot noirhas a deep ruby color and a complex bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, and earthy notes, with a touch of vanilla and spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with fine tannins and flavors of dark fruit, cherry, and hints of leather with fresh acidity and a long finish.

This 50ha walled vineyard was created by the Monks of Citeaux and the soils in the areahas a large clay content, which accounts to the powerful, well-structured wines that can be rustic when young. This Grand Cru is on 1.28ha plot with 100% pinot noir. The grapes were handpicked and destemmed, then fermented in large oak vats. The wine was further aged for 20 months in French oak. The nose shows floral notes of rose petals, berries and spices. The tannins are fine and elegant with flavours of fresh fruit and spices of nutmeg and pepper.

The 2008 vintage of Roberto Voerzio La Serra Barolo is known for its complex aroma, with scents of rose petals, dried cherries, leather, and spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, with flavors of ripe red fruit, licorice, and tobacco, balanced by firm tannins and good acidity. The wine is typically aged for several years in oak barrels before release, which contributes to its structure and complexity.

This opulent wine has a broad and balanced mid-palate, notes of vanilla and blueberry, a dried floral character and chalky tannins. Anise and cherry lift the palate to a beautiful, lingering finish. In both aromatics and palate, this is an elegant vintage worthy of cellaring for years to come.

The truly exceptional 2018 vintage of Viñedo Chadwick displays an intense ruby red colour with violet shimmer. Elegant, fresh and linear entry on the nose, with aromas of cherry, cassis, raspberry and delicate notes of blueberry pie. The palate shows red fruit and blackberry, all framed by soft tones of bitter chocolate and some cedar, subtly filled by very fine-grained and silky tannins. The Sovereign Port Dundas blended Scotch whisky is made using a combination of single malt whiskies from the closed Port Dundas distillery and other distilleries in Scotland. The exact composition of the blend is not disclosed, but it is known to have a light and floral character with a hint of sweetness and a smooth and balanced flavor profile.

The Premier Cru of Les Epenots is one of Pommard's best known names, referring to thethree climats of Les Grands Epenots, Les Petits Epenot and Clos des Epeneaux. These wines can be labelled under these individual names or as "Epenots". All vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir and are considered some of the best -rich and structured with spicy, earthy overtones and considerable elegance. The Parent Les Epenotsis 100% Pinot Noir and very expressive and complex with violet and red fruit aromas of cherry raspberry. The mouth is fleshy and concentrated, and the tannins are fine, velvety, and elegant.

Michel Mallard Le Rognet is a Grand Cru vineyard located in Ladoix-Serrigny on a small plot of 1.27 ha growing Pinot Noir vines that are between 45-55 years old. The vineyard is known for producing wines with complex flavors and aromas. The 2012 vintage of Michel Mallard Corton GC Le Rognet is generally considered to be a good year for Burgundy wines, with favorable weather conditions leading to a high-quality harvest. The wine is aged in oak barrels for approximately 18 months, which adds depth and complexity to its flavors.This 100% Pinot noir has aromas of violets, blackberries, pepper spice, and licorice. Full-bodied and rich, the palate is dense, yet velvety. This wine can age for an impressively long time.

Raphet Burgundy is handmade from field to bottle, with a rhythm and method that hasn't changed in more than four generations. Pinot Noir vines at the estate are on average very old, with many surpassing 100 years. Raphet wines are a Burgundy lover's Burgundy. While the wine's colour in the glass is a delicate ruby, aromas and flavours surprise with their forceful intensity. This contrast often catches the uninitiated off guard, yet it is part of the seduction of these limited and highly sought-after wines.

This wine has a tightly-knit tannic texture and a beautiful, long,aromatic aftertaste. It is fruity, spicy and oaky (the oakiness is normal at this early stage).2012 Quintus starts out quite smooth on the palate, going on to showripe fruit and a freshness that might be referred to as mineral which is very typical of the terroir.

Chateau Montrose is a 2nd growth in the Saint Estephe appellation of the left bank of Bordeaux. The location itself is exceptional, facing the Gironde Estuary which means the 95ha vineyard benefits from the moderating influence of this body of water during hot summers and harsh winters. This red blend is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot and scored over 95 by many of the critics. All typical Medoc aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, licorice, pencil lead, crushed stones, warm spices and violets. Balanced and impressive, give this a decade before opening and age for the next 30+ years.

As always Lascombes is done in a style that brings out the more lush, flamboyant side of Margaux. In this vintage, all the elements meld together effortlessly, something that isn't always the case. " The 2013 L'Eglise Clinet has a very precise, tightly wound bouquet with limestone-tinged, brambly red berry fruit, the Merlot still very expressive and imparting comely floral scents. There is something almost Burgundy-like about the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin surrounding a core of citrus-fresh, lively red fruit, silky smooth in texture, approachable in style, with an almost symmetrical finish.
