The Clynelish Distillery, situated in Brora, Highlands, Scotland, has a rich history dating back to 1819, with the current facility established in 1967 alongside the original Brora distillery. Initially struggling, it gained prominence in 1896 when acquired by Ainslie & Heilbron, later owned by John Risk. Despite closure in the 1930s, it operated during World War II. Clynelish is renowned as a premium Single Malt, notably used in Johnnie Walker blends. This 10-year-old edition, part of Diageo Special Releases 2023, is exclusively aged in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels.

Recently, a new “oldest Canadian whisky ever,” appears every year. In 2018, the honour goes to Canadian Club. Cedar lumber, fresh apricots, hints of bonfire, and sweet applewood on the nose. On the palate it’s butter tarts with vanilla, waves of pepper, pears, peaches, bonfire notes, and hints of pipe tobacco. Crisp, clean, and slightly bigger than Canadian Club 40 year old, the 41 is woodsy, silky, and mouth filling.

Maison Louis Jadot is one of the most trusted and revered wine houses in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. Frédéric Barnier, Jadot’s esteemed winemaker, and his team balance tradition and technology, focusing on the purest expression of each wine’s terroir.  Founded in 1859, the house now owns 528 acres of vineyards, including 280 acres of the Cote d’Or’s most prestigious Premier and Grand Cru plots. This is a wine of delicacy and finesse, with notes of berries, earth and oak in a silken texture.

The Tollot-Beaut family is a based at Chorey-Les-Beaune with vineyards located in Beaune, Savigny, Aloxe-Corton and a small holding in Corton Charlemagne. This 100% Pinot Noir has ripe black cherry, black currant, violet and mineral notes. The palate is dense, yet elegant with ripe fruit and fine tannins. A consistently underrated site from a wonderful domaine.

Like for the reds, the aromatic palette is both precise and full, with notes of citrus, green fruit, minerality and fine oak. A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Haut-Bailly was harvested from the 9th to 25th of September. It has an alcohol of 14.3%. Deep purple-black in colour, it prances out of the glass with naturally beautiful notions of fresh black cherries, violets, mulberries and boysenberries, giving way to hints of redcurrant jelly, star anise, tilled soil and menthol. The medium to full-bodied palate is delicately crafted with velvety/grainy tannins and fantastic freshness framing the perfumed red and black berry layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant-earth note.

Vivacious, bright, yellow citrus, lime, green apple, tangerine, and honeysuckle notes are there for the taking on the nose and palate. Crisp and energetic, with a long blast of zesty green apples, lemon peel and a hint of vanilla in the finish. This is among the best vintages of Cos d'Estournel Blanc ever produced. The wine blends 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Semillon.

Flowers, leafy herbs, mint, espresso, cherries, plums and a hint of blueberries come alive in the aromatic profile. But the best is yet to come with its array of minerals, rocks, stones and salt-tinted red and black fruits that cross your palate with length, lift, precision, purity and soft, smooth textures. It is difficult to believe that this is their second wine.

The vineyards of Michel Mallard located in Ladoix-Serrigny at the foot of Corton Hill in the Cotes de Beaune encompass all levels of vineyard quality: Villages, Premier Cru Grand Cru. Red wines of Corton will typically be more structured than wines of Vougeout, but perhaps not as powerful as Pommard. The Grand Cru of Le Rognet is a complex wine with notes of buleberry, blackberry and blackcurrant with nuances of licorice and pepper. Smooth and velvety tannins, this wine will age for a surprisingly long time.

Michel Mallard'sLa Toppe au Vert extends over Corton hill's southeastern slope, the name referring to a "land of good exposure". This 100% pinot noirhas a deep ruby color and a complex bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, and earthy notes, with a touch of vanilla and spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with fine tannins and flavors of dark fruit, cherry, and hints of leather with fresh acidity and a long finish.

This 50ha walled vineyard was created by the Monks of Citeaux and the soils in the areahas a large clay content, which accounts to the powerful, well-structured wines that can be rustic when young. This Grand Cru is on 1.28ha plot with 100% pinot noir. The grapes were handpicked and destemmed, then fermented in large oak vats. The wine was further aged for 20 months in French oak. The nose shows floral notes of rose petals, berries and spices. The tannins are fine and elegant with flavours of fresh fruit and spices of nutmeg and pepper.

Nose: Sweet almond croissant, with fresh hay, stewed apple and creamy coconut, supported by white floral aromas.
Palate: Classic festive spiciness, with ginger, nutmeg and oodles of dried fruit, orange chocolate and maple syrup drizzled over pancakes.
Finish: Waxy citrus, oily malt and fresh tropical fruit, followed by chai-spiced dark chocolate.

This opulent wine has a broad and balanced mid-palate, notes of vanilla and blueberry, a dried floral character and chalky tannins. Anise and cherry lift the palate to a beautiful, lingering finish. In both aromatics and palate, this is an elegant vintage worthy of cellaring for years to come.

The Sovereign Port Dundas blended Scotch whisky is made using a combination of single malt whiskies from the closed Port Dundas distillery and other distilleries in Scotland. The exact composition of the blend is not disclosed, but it is known to have a light and floral character with a hint of sweetness and a smooth and balanced flavor profile.

Michel Mallard Le Rognet is a Grand Cru vineyard located in Ladoix-Serrigny on a small plot of 1.27 ha growing Pinot Noir vines that are between 45-55 years old. The vineyard is known for producing wines with complex flavors and aromas. The 2012 vintage of Michel Mallard Corton GC Le Rognet is generally considered to be a good year for Burgundy wines, with favorable weather conditions leading to a high-quality harvest. The wine is aged in oak barrels for approximately 18 months, which adds depth and complexity to its flavors.This 100% Pinot noir has aromas of violets, blackberries, pepper spice, and licorice. Full-bodied and rich, the palate is dense, yet velvety. This wine can age for an impressively long time.

Raphet Burgundy is handmade from field to bottle, with a rhythm and method that hasn't changed in more than four generations. Pinot Noir vines at the estate are on average very old, with many surpassing 100 years. Raphet wines are a Burgundy lover's Burgundy. While the wine's colour in the glass is a delicate ruby, aromas and flavours surprise with their forceful intensity. This contrast often catches the uninitiated off guard, yet it is part of the seduction of these limited and highly sought-after wines.

This wine has a tightly-knit tannic texture and a beautiful, long,aromatic aftertaste. It is fruity, spicy and oaky (the oakiness is normal at this early stage).2012 Quintus starts out quite smooth on the palate, going on to showripe fruit and a freshness that might be referred to as mineral which is very typical of the terroir.

Chateau Montrose is a 2nd growth in the Saint Estephe appellation of the left bank of Bordeaux. The location itself is exceptional, facing the Gironde Estuary which means the 95ha vineyard benefits from the moderating influence of this body of water during hot summers and harsh winters. This red blend is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot and scored over 95 by many of the critics. All typical Medoc aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, licorice, pencil lead, crushed stones, warm spices and violets. Balanced and impressive, give this a decade before opening and age for the next 30+ years.

93 points Vinous: "The 2016 Lascombes is grown into a gorgeous wine. Blackberry jam, chocolate, new leather, espresso and copious new oak all flesh out in this ample, resonant wine. As always Lascombes is done in a style that brings out the more lush, flamboyant side of Margaux. In this vintage, all the elements meld together effortlessly, something that isn't always the case. The 2013 L'Eglise Clinet has a very precise, tightly wound bouquet with limestone-tinged, brambly red berry fruit, the Merlot still very expressive and imparting comely floral scents. There is something almost Burgundy-like about the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin surrounding a core of citrus-fresh, lively red fruit, silky smooth in texture, approachable in style, with an almost symmetrical finish. This was a great L'Eglise-Clinet in barrel in the context of the vintage and it remains a very persuasive wine in bottle. (NM)" (10/2016)

Cervaro della Sala IGT Umbria is Marchesi Antinori's prestigious white blend from Umbria, primarily Chardonnay with Grechetto, known for its complexity, elegance, and aging potential, offering aromas of citrus, white flowers, vanilla, and flint, with a rich, fresh palate of tropical fruit, nuts, and minerals, showing a distinctive savory and mineral finish.

Dalla Valle Collina is the "second wine" of the prestigious Dalla Valle Vineyards, offering a more approachable, early-drinking Napa Valley Bordeaux-style blend. Created from younger hillside estate vines (and sometimes purchased fruit), it typically features Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. It is known for its vibrant red/black fruit flavors, silky tannins, and a 14.5% ABV, typically drinking well within 10–15 years of release.

Anne Parent and her sister Catherine are the 12th generation of the family running the Domaine. The Les Chaponnieres vineyard is 2.89ha lying south of the village of Pommard, above the Les Croix vineyard. The wines here have fleshy fruit, with aspicy nose, raspberry and cherry hints, together hints of licorice.

Les Millandes premier Cru is an east facing sit and close to the GC of Clos de la Roche, growing 100% pinot noir. The soils are the same in both sites, resulting in similar wines. Les Millandes is always supple and seductive with dusty chocolate notes, along with the typical aromas of red berries, warm barking spices and earth. The tannins are structured, yet fine.

A smooth and fruit-driven South Australian Shiraz with aromatic red and blue berries and subtle cedar spice. Generous berry flavours are supported by creamy oak, finishing with fine, velvety tannins.

A smooth and approachable Mendoza Malbec with ripe plum and wild berry flavours complemented by earthy, leathery and spicy nuances. The palate is generous and fruit-driven with a soft texture and balanced finish.

A fruit-forward California Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of black cherry, plum and currant accented by cedar. Dark fruit and spice continue across the palate, supported by soft, integrated tannins and a balanced, lingering finish.

A rich South Australian Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of plum, blackberry and cassis accented by subtle leafy notes. Dark fruit integrates with savoury oak and smooth tannins, delivering a structured palate and long finish.

A generous Australian Chardonnay offering citrus and savoury nutty aromas with touches of minerality. French oak adds texture and complexity, creating a rounded, balanced white wine with a fresh and flavorful finish.

A fresh and elegant white Burgundy with pure aromas of grapefruit, citrus and delicate flowers. The palate is clean and refreshing, showing honeysuckle, bright fruit and a lively mineral character.

An elegant Burgundy Pinot Noir displaying pure aromas of red berries and delicate floral notes. The palate is balanced and generous, with bright fruit, integrated tannins and a smooth, approachable finish.

A bold Australian Cabernet Sauvignon created with hearty food pairings in mind. Rich blackcurrant, plum and dark berry flavours are layered with chocolate, cedar, spice and oak, supported by supple tannins and a long, satisfying finish.

An 8-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon finished with Oregon Garry oak for added depth and character. Toasted hazelnut, stone fruit and apple aromas lead to roasted fruit, chocolate and sweet cream, with a long, warm and gently spiced finish.

A rich and full-bodied Lodi Syrah displaying generous dark-fruit character. Blackberry, ripe fig and dark cocoa mingle with smoky, savoury and spicy notes, while ripe tannins and fresh acidity provide balance and structure.
