Elegant, restrained nose, a hint of lime, subtle herbal notes, ripe citrus notes on the palate, some stone fruit, salty, lots of grip, a hint of sweetish melting, alcohol somewhat in the foreground, quite firm core, remains long on the palate.

Bright ruby red. On the nose, expressive and clear, with cherry and orange, rose hip, and rubbed pepper in the echo. The palate is gripping, with grippy, juicy tannins and also shows shy red-berry fruit. The wine ends on fine earthy notes.

This soft wine shows a relatively high dosage, giving a ripe strawberry-fruit character. The acidity and fruit are gentle, hinting at a tannic edge from red wine in the blend.

This wine is beginning to show hints of maturity in its toasty flavors both from aging and also from barrel fermentation of the Chardonnay in the blend. That contrasts with the fresh citrus and white fruits of its younger days. The wine, with its tight texture, is ready to drink.

Blanc de Noirs, white Champagne only from red grapes, produces wines with some weight, as here. It makes for a rich, full-blooded Champagne, packed with red fruits while also cut through with intense acidity. The fruitiness gains shape from a zesty texture.

Made with the traditional 50% of Nero d'Avola and 50% Frapatto, the wine shows a beautiful deep hue with young highlights. Intense fruity nose accented with ripe redcurrant and cassis. The same aromas recur on the palate where freshness fuses with lovely substance. It pairs well with white meat, tuna and other elaborate fish dishes.

The structure on this wine, which comes from vines planted in 1984, keeps it tight and stony after many days of being opened, indicating longevity in the cellar.
