The 2019 bottling marks the 20th anniversary of the production of Oreno. This “Super Tuscan” of Merlot, Cabernet and Petit Verdot are blended beautifully with aromas and flavours of black fruit, exotic spice, cured tobacco and new leather.

The Paternoster Rotondo Aglianico del Vulture is a full-bodied red wine made from 100% Aglianico grapes grown in the Aglianico del Vulture subregion of Basilicata, Italy. This historic vineyard located right in the village of Barolo, is often considered one of the best, if not the most famous. Light in colour, it is aromatic and rich with fruit and floral fragrances, and strong warm spiced scents. Light, elegant, feminine, and velvety, this 100% Nebbiolo will age for many years. An elegant and velvety wine, it is characterized by its structure and balance. Gorgeous.

With 170ha of vineyards in the Collio region of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Jermann has four generations of winemaking under its belt with Silvio Jermann the current visionary and winemaker. This wine made from 100% Pinot Nero, is elegant with notes of sweet red fruit and slight herbaceousness, and perhaps more full bodied that its French counterpart. Pinot Nero from Italy is a thing of beauty!

Mike Grgich first gained international recognition at the celebrated Paris Tasting of 1976. This historic tasting gave the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay, crafted by Mike Grgich, first place as the finest white wine in the world. After this solid recognition, he started Grgich Hills winery in Rutherford Hills. 2023 marks the 100th birthday of this iconic producer who is a legend in Napa Valley. This Cabernet offers black currant and ripe black cherries, followed by forest floor and bay leaf and vanilla undertones. Bright acidity, and youthful tannins are evident; no doubt this wine has the ability to age.

This wine has reached classic quality. It has all the hallmarks of a traditionalist Rioja, with a touch of funky flair. There’s dried black fruit, tobacco, liquorice root, and herbs, but also lively notes of plum skin, sarsaparilla, cola and fresh, ripe mulberry. This wine is stacked.

Not always a first growth, Chateau Mouton, owned Baron Philippe Rothschild was originally a 2nd growth in the original 1855 classification, but after a 20 year battle was elevated to a first growth in 1973, now in the elite five first growths. In 1988, Baron Philippe's daughter took over the Chateau. During her time as CEO, she brilliantly enhanced and modernized Chateau Mouton. Her three children now are co-owners and united in the same ambition to carry on the work of their mother and grandfather. The Chateau spans 90ha in the Pauillac appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux. A red blend made with 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot which offers an intense, expressive wine with aromas of blackberry, cassis, pencil shavings, cedar and mint. The palate has fine tannins with a rich, medium to full bodied wine. The finish is extremely lengthy. Always scoring very high, put this away for a few years. Best from 2025-2040.

The color is concentrated, intense. Aromas of fresh black currant, sweet and ripe, bring great intensity to the wine's fruity youthfulness. Careful barrel aging shows well. This 2010 vintage is fresh and powerful on the palate, with an evolution focusing on tight and firm tannins. The mid-palate is very fleshy, finishing on a slightly dry note produced by the wine's youth and the harvest's maturity. This wine has great power with very good aromatic length. Grapes harvested at full ripeness give fruity retro-olfactive aromas which fully express the potential of Pavie's terroir. Wait at least another five to 10 years, and this wine will make a memorable meal all the more special.

Margaux shows us the elegance and feminine side of Bordeaux. This second label of Chateau Brane Cantenac, a Second Growth of Bordeaux is a blend of 65% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Already silky and very promising, it expresses black fruit aromas of blackberry and fleshy cherry mixed with elegant toast, smoke, and vanilla. The tannins are refined and balanced and is absolutely in the drink window.

Chateau Canon-la-Gaffeliere is a Premier Grand Cru Classe, located in the St. Emilion appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux. Owned by the von Neipperg family, there are links to viticulture here since the 13th century. Canon -la-Gaffeliere is one of only two Bordeaux properties that is Certified Organic. The 2014 is a red blend of 55% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of preserved blackberry, fig and black currant. The palate is medium-bodied with good structure and a spicy finish.

Lobetia Tempranillo is a full-bodied, organic, and biodynamic Spanish red wine from the Castilla-La Mancha region. Since 1694, Benanti is synonymous with quality and represents a profound respect for Etna and the wine in produces. Grapes grown on the slope from north to southwest are at altitudes of 450-1050 meters above sea level. Benanti is the only winery that has vineyards located on every slope of the DOC Etna. The Dafara Galluzza vineyard is located on the prestigious north slope of Etna, at 750 metres asl, it is extremely suited to growing Nerello Mascalese. The nose is fine, heady, spicy, with measures of red fruit. The palate is chewy and intense, yet vibrant and surprisingly light on its feet. Sour cherry mingles with wood, chocolate and earth, then a lingering spicy finish.

Luigi Bosca • Malbec D.O.C. is deep violet, with pleasant aromas of great tipicity: red fruits and flowers, sweet spices and coffee beans.

Its ageing in oak is expressed together with toasty and wild notes that are reminiscent of jarrilla. In the palate, everything revolves around a refined fruity core, firm tannins, round texture and a highly pleasant acidity. Its mouthfeel is elegant, long-lasting, deep and voluptuous.

Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is a true icon of Australian wine and a perennial favourite in auction circles. First released in 1954, Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from only the top 20 to 25 per cent of Cabernet Sauvignon fruit grown in their Terra Rossa Vineyards. A vibrant purple hue colour with an intense black core, the hints of juicy mulberries and red cherries, with hints old dark fruit and creamy oak. The palate contains medium-bodied cassis flavours, supported by fine tannins and integrated French oak. Pair with baked salmon, roast potatoes and leafy greens.

Head winemaker Rob Griffin arrived in the Columbia Valley four decades ago via UC Davis and the Napa Valley and is the longest-practicing winemaker in Washington State. The story of Maison Jadot began with vines and the purchase of a Premier Cru site in 1826. Three decades later in 1859 the family-owned domaine was completed. Louis Jadot also became contributed to the renown of Burgundy by becoming the first negociant, with a focus on selling these unprecedented wines in the Northern European markets with his descendants following in his footsteps.

The Les Boucherottes vineyard covers 8.5ha and has a deep clay soil that adds a lush quality to the the wines. As such, this is a full-bodied aromatic Pinot Noir that is plump and round with a dense structure. The aromas of raspberry and plum mingle with rosehip, raw cocoa and spice. It is a classic expression of the Louis Jadot style, which emphasizes balance, elegance, and terroir-driven wines.

Nebbiolo is known as Chiavennascain Lombardia and it is so elegant, perfumey, and graceful, you might not want to go back to drinking Barolo! ArPePe is an iconic producer in this region and their Grumello is a subzone of the quality Valtellina region. At 10 years old, this wine is gorgeous. 

Located in Calabria, the toe of Italy's boot, Cirò is the only DOC of the region for red wines, it is made from 100% Gaglioppo. Juicy and vibrant, it exudes aromas of small red berries, citrus zest, and earthy underbrush notes with a hint of minerality. Ready to drink and enjoy with your barbecued burgers this summer!

From the Bolgheri DOC, the Poggio Al Tesoro is owned by the Allegrini family of Valpolicella fame. Named after the Seggio river that crosses the vineyard, it is a blend of 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. The nose exhibits lovely fresh, crunchy fruit, enriched with mineral and spicy notes. The palate is medium bodied with hints of red berries and elegant silky tannins. A great wine for the price point!

Dominio de Pingus is a cult classic in Ribera del Duero, established in 1995. The flagship Pingus has been established as one of the world's best wines and always scores very high. The vine age is very old and never treated with herbicides or pesticides. The PSI or "baby" of the three that are made is named after the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet. Made with Tinto Fino (what tempranillo is called here), this vintage has 10% garnacha for added juiciness and freshness. Always fine grain an silky tannins, the creamy mouthfeel will make another sip necessary. A great introduction to the wines of Pingus.

Bright golden appearance shot through with amber highlights. A delightfully refined Rivesaltes with a classy bouquet of soft caramel, stewed apples, pears, nuts and an overriding impression of completeness. Round and elegant on the palate, with a Margaux like understated sophistication. Unmistakeable rancio characters help to place this in a blind tasting, but this is preceeded by impressions of butterscotch, walnut fudge, soft brown sugar and a little treacle. Very gentle on the long length with a pleasing warmth that lingers long after the wine has disappeared.
