Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is a true icon of Australian wine and a perennial favourite in auction circles. First released in 1954, Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from only the top 20 to 25 per cent of Cabernet Sauvignon fruit grown in their Terra Rossa Vineyards. A vibrant purple hue colour with an intense black core, the hints of juicy mulberries and red cherries, with hints old dark fruit and creamy oak. The palate contains medium-bodied cassis flavours, supported by fine tannins and integrated French oak. Pair with baked salmon, roast potatoes and leafy greens.

The story of Maison Jadot began with vines and the purchase of a Premier Cru site in 1826. Three decades later in 1859 the family-owned domaine was completed. Louis Jadot also became contributed to the renown of Burgundy by becoming the first negociant, with a focus on selling these unprecedented wines in the Northern European markets with his descendants following in his footsteps.

The Les Boucherottes vineyard covers 8.5ha and has a deep clay soil that adds a lush quality to the the wines. As such, this is a full-bodied aromatic Pinot Noir that is plump and round with a dense structure. The aromas of raspberry and plum mingle with rosehip, raw cocoa and spice. It is a classic expression of the Louis Jadot style, which emphasizes balance, elegance, and terroir-driven wines.

Nebbiolo is known as Chiavennascain Lombardia and it is so elegant, perfumey, and graceful, you might not want to go back to drinking Barolo! ArPePe is an iconic producer in this region and their Grumello is a subzone of the quality Valtellina region. At 10 years old, this wine is gorgeous.

Dominio de Pingus is a cult classic in Ribera del Duero, established in 1995. The flagship Pingus has been established as one of the world's best wines and always scores very high. The vine age is very old and never treated with herbicides or pesticides. The PSI or "baby" of the three that are made is named after the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet. Made with Tinto Fino (what tempranillo is called here), this vintage has 10% garnacha for added juiciness and freshness. Always fine grain an silky tannins, the creamy mouthfeel will make another sip necessary. A great introduction to the wines of Pingus.

Bright golden appearance shot through with amber highlights. A delightfully refined Rivesaltes with a classy bouquet of soft caramel, stewed apples, pears, nuts and an overriding impression of completeness. Round and elegant on the palate, with a Margaux like understated sophistication. Unmistakeable rancio characters help to place this in a blind tasting, but this is preceeded by impressions of butterscotch, walnut fudge, soft brown sugar and a little treacle. Very gentle on the long length with a pleasing warmth that lingers long after the wine has disappeared.

This wine boasts an intense garnet color and a bouquet of red fruits like cherry and blackberry, intertwined with vanilla and spice notes from oak aging. Flavors of liquored cherries, black pepper, eucalyptus, and fig emerge on the palate, supported by silky, well-integrated tannins and balsamic acidity. Konrad Salwey is a third generation winemaker from the heart of Kaiserstuhl and whose focus is Pinot Noir. With harvests done in both Burgundy and Alsace, Konrad is making some excellent, world class Pinot Noir. Organic farming principles and low-yielding old vines produce a complex red wine with silky tannins. Dominated by ripe dark cherry, the palate is balanced by a pleasant acidity and supported by well-integrated, elegant tannins. This wine is worth so much more than the price it displays!

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru 'Les Beaux Monts' from Bruno Desaunay-Bissey is an elegant and refined Pinot Noir, showcasing the finesse of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated premier crus. The bouquet reveals aromas of red cherry, raspberry, violet, and subtle spice. On the palate, it delivers layered red fruit, silky tannins, and a precise minerality, culminating in a long, expressive finish.

A high percentage (75%) of new wood has given this wine a very fine polished character. Along with the structure, it has brought out impressive aromas of black fruits, cinnamon spice and power. The wine is has a fresh black-fruit aftertaste.

Couvent des Jacobins 2016 develops blackberry and spicy aromas. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and fresh acidity. The finish reveals a beautiful structure.

Chateau du Tertre is a 5th growth in the 1855 Classification, located in the Margaux appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux. The chateau itself is 1000 years old, stretching over 52ha. In 1961, the estate was acquired by Phillipe Gasqueton who restored the vineyards and chateau after WWII. After his death in 1995, his widow sold the property to the neighbouring owners of Chateau Giscours, a 3rd Growth. In 1997, the estate was restructured and redesigned by the current Dutch owners of Albada-Jelgersma. This red blend has mainly cabernet sauvignon, with the balance of merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. A typical Margaux style with elegant floral and red fruits on the nose, yet with plenty of tobacco, cedar and dried herbs with a soft texture, and fresh acidity. Wait a couple of years to enjoy this and drink from 2025-2040.

Perhaps not as popular as the neighbouring vineyards of Lynch-Bages, it is still very much Pauillac with many improvements being done at both the Chateau and in the vineyards in recent years. Made from 83% Cabernet Sauvignon for that power, structure, and flavour profile; and 17% Merlot for softness and roundness, this can still be further aged, but can be opened and enjoyed now. Enjoy the notes of tobacco, graphite, plum, black currants, mushrooms, and dried fruit of this wine!

Without a doubt, Chateau Troplong Mondot has one of the most enviable and unique terroirs on the St. Emilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Specifically located on the highest point of Saint-Emilion's famous limestone plateau, the 43ha estate has ideal soils and exposure. The resulting wines combine strength and elegance, complexity and precision. Chateau Haut-Bailly (Pessac-Leognan)- Chateau Haut-Bailly always delivers amazing wine, and this vintage is no exception. With aromatic and dense black fruits of cherry and cassis the 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot is savory and delightful with earthy minerality and tobacco nuances. Be patient and you will be rewarded with a supremely delicious wine. You won't have to wait too long though as 2024 will mark 10 years in the bottle and the wine will start to show well. Another well known Chateau from Margaux, this popular third growth of the 1855 Classification offers great value/quality from Margaux. With a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 20% Merlot, this is a ‘pretty' wine with floral and black tea notes interwoven with the plum, red cherry, cassis, cedar, and graphite. A classy wine that can be enjoyed now.

Chateau Margaux has a vast history, five centuries in the making. Most know this wine as just "Pavillon Rouge", but with its full name, the origins are clear: This is the 2nd wine of Chateau Margaux, one of the 1855 Classification 1st growths. The flavours and quality are close, yet with the ability to drink a little earlier than its big sister. Typically this wine represents 30% of the grapes harvested for a vintage. The 2019 is comprised of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. With this warm vintage, there is more body in the wine, yet still well balanced. Loaded with black fruit, pencil shavings, tobacco and spices, it is elegant and velvety on the palate with plenty of structure, yet still fresh and fruity. Touted as one of the best vintages for this wine and worth the purchase.

Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2018 reveals a deep, almost black colour. The nose is delicate, with notes of black fruits and a hint of subtle, well-integrated wood. The palate is generous and full, with powerful and luscious tannins. The balance is rich and harmonious with tension.

Pristine, attractive fruit with perfume and freshness. Dark-berry and plum notes, as well as cassis and brambleberries, define the character of both nose and palate. The tannins are saturated in ripe dark berries and plums and deliver a superbly fresh, shimmering, dark-fruited finish. Wow-factor is strong here in 2016.
