Bowmore 15 Year Old Sherry Oak is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for 15 years in European oak oloroso sherry casks and American oak ex-bourbon barrels, and finished in European oak oloroso sherry seasoned casks. It offers a rich, complex flavor profile with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, baking spice, and a subtle hint of smoke. The palate features flavors of licorice, clove, toffee, and Turkish delight.

Bowmore 15 Year Old is a prime example of a sherry cask finish, matured first in bourbon barrels and then for three years in Oloroso sherry casks. This process imparts a rich burnt sienna color and a robust, warming finish. The nose offers dark chocolate and raisin aromas, complemented by the signature Bowmore smokiness. On the palate, expect flavors of cedar wood and rich treacle toffee, with a finish of spicy toffee, sherry, and barley. This whisky has been awarded Gold at the 2018 International Wine & Spirit Competition and Double Gold at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Peat bonfire wafts above sea salt, brine, dried seaweed, salty dock, seashells, and all things maritime. But the smoke and peat are subtle—the seashore notes grab you most. Light and subtle once more on the finish, with fruit notes emerging and the peat fading long down the road.

The Bowmore Distillery, established in 1779 and located on Islay is so close to the sea, the Atlantic waves smash against the iconic sea-facing wall. This salt spray of this No. 1 Vaults release is a key tasting note. The aromas will give you bright orange zest and marmalade drizzled with the sea and the palate will give you salted honeycomb, iodine soaked blood orange, ocean spiced blackberry and kumquat. The nose is intensely spicy and warm with chili pepper and highlighting an umami meatiness. Cherries, blackberries and chocolate on the palate nonetheless give way again to pepper notes, from fresh cracked black peppercorns to chilis, through a hot finish.

From the Brandini winery, Alta Langa is a DOCG with Methode Champenois style sparkling wine. These beautiful wines spend 48 months on the lees, making the ageing longer than even Champagne. The aromas of bread crust perfectly blend with floral notes and hints of candied fruit. The perlage is fine with a great acidity and a long-lingering finish. Langhe Nebbiolo is the finest and most elegant bottled expression of this grape variety. An intense and subtle color at the same time, anticipates a structure and tannin that are typical of Nebbiolo. The land of La Morra, with its sandy percentage, reveals the more feminine nuance of this wine, giving a silky tannin and a good persistence in the mouth. If Barolo is too expensive, try a Langhe Nebbiolo.

The Brave New Spirits Craigellachie 9 Year is a limited-edition Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 2015 and finished for a transformative period in a first-fill Château Larose-Trintaudon red wine barrique. It is known for a creamy mouthfeel with flavors of red fruit compote, candied cherries, stewed plums, oak spice, and fruity sweetness, followed by a long finish where the fruits continue to develop. The high-strength, 48.1% ABV, bottling is part of Brave New Spirits' Cask Masters collection, with only 330 bottles released worldwide.

The nose is a rich complex of fresh juniper, followed quickly by coriander and a complexity of gin flavours. Hints of citrus mingle with oriental spices. On adding a mixer, the citrus, lemon, orange - and even bergamot - open out, as do hints of cinammon, cloves and even saffron. A medium-length finish leaves you ready for the next mouthful.

The first single malt in the world aged exclusively in French Limousin Oak and Cognac casks, Brenne Estate Cask is twice-distilled in a copper alembic still, and aged for a minimum of six years. The whisky has perfumed fruit and French patisserie aromas with creamy and complex sugar notes of rich creme brûlée and burnt caramel. On the palate: notes of banana, tropical fruits, and warm spices like cinnamon and clove.
