The small-batch rum, called Bumbu XO, has been finished in white oak Sherry barrels from Andalusia, Spain. Bumbu XO is distilled and aged at a 120-year-old Panamanian distillery and uses local sugarcane and pure spring water. The 40% abv expression has aromas of toffee, toasted oak and vanilla, while the palate has hints of orange zest, peppery spice and coffee. The new offering is packaged in a paperless glass bottle, with a matte black finish, silver and white details and a tarnished silver ‘X’.

A no age statement Bunnahabhain destined to replace the existing 12 year old, matured in first and second-fill sherry casks. Raisins, fruit spice, furniture polish, and roasted nuts on the nose, along with an edge of brine. Rich and full-bodied in the mouth, with malt, sweet sherry, and cotton candy, plus cloves and a sprinkling of sea salt. The finish offers red berries, lively spice, and dark chocolate.

Crafted with Bunnahabhain Mòine, the distillery's peated spirit, this single malt is a sequel to the original Toiteach and incorporates a higher proportion of sherry casks in the final blend compared to its predecessor. Pronounced 'Toch-ach ah-gha', its name translates to 'Smoky Two' in Gaelic. On the nose, it presents peaty aromas intertwined with rich oak and hints of sherry. The palate reveals a warming peatiness complemented by sweet Oloroso sherry notes, with subtle pepper emerging to provide balance. The finish is spicy with lingering sherry characteristics and peatiness.

Nose: Intense aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, and plum, with hints of vanilla, cedar, and baking spices.

Taste: Rich and full-bodied, with flavors of ripe black fruits, including blackberry and black cherry, complemented by notes of cocoa, tobacco, and a touch of espresso.

The vineyard of Quinta do Arnozelo is situated on the southern bank of the Douro river, between the small towns of São João da Pesqueira and Vila Nova de Foz Côa. This is in the prestigious upper reaches of the Douro demarcated wine region, the aptly named Douro Superior. The Burmester Vintage Port 2020 is loaded with character and enormous ageing potential. From a fully declared year, this port is a blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, this is warm, lightly textured with minerality and touched by toastiness. The tannins are soft, already well integrated with the floral notes and black fruits.

A very primary, bright crimson colour, this has more lift and florals than the 2016 Midnight Race. The palate has a cooler character, a line of fine liquorice and raspberry fruit, a herbal touch, but the tannins are so fine, elegant, and the balance excellent.

The nose is spicy and peppery with intense aromas of blackberry, dried fig, cigar box, leather, vanilla, and meat, accented by subtle violet notes. The palate is dry and full-bodied with crisp acidity and firm, ripe tannins. It presents a complex mix of paprika, black plum, sundried tomato, blueberry, and leather, leading to a savoury dried sage finish. This wine has lots of character now and will soften over the next 2-3 years. Enjoy it with a seared piece of beef, ratatouille, and hearty polenta.

Done in a rich, layered, barrel-aged mode, this retains its lively fruit and some zippy acids. Scents and flavors move from candied citrus to light tropical fruits. The finish is softened and rounded with the addition ofSémillon and aging innew oak.

A complex spicy, powerful and intense mix of fruit and savoury elements. Blackberry and cassis fruit dominate, joined by black plum, black cherry and some cherry chocolate liqueur along with complex black pepper, violet, custard and some burlap and dried herbal notes. Full bodied with lovely ripe tannins and balanced acidity the cassis and blackberry fruit is joined by paprika infused dark chocolate cake, pastry crust, graphite and sage with some leather on the long finish. Pair this with garlic and rosemary studded leg of lamb or grilled portobello mushroom with a paprika and dried herb butter.

Intense and intriguing aromas on the nose with pastry crust, blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, dried thyme and sage, ripe Italian plum and with some complex paprika, cinnamon and black pepper spice. The palate is ripe and rich in black fruits, black plum, cassis and black cherry with some espresso and oak and given a nice savoury side with dried sage, liquorice, a hint of black olive and leather. The tannins are firm but ripe. It is full bodied and has all the elements to age for a long and graceful life in the bottle. Try pairing with venison with a rich berry infused demi-glace.

Vigna Colonnello is ruby red with garnet hues.
