Like traditional Amarone, the grapes are dried per regulations before pressing after January 1. Full bodied, structured and typical aromas and flavours of dried cherries, figs, balsamic, licorice, espresso and earthiness, Allegrini is one of the more famous families of the Valpolicella region. If you love Amarone, but find a full bottle too much, this 375ml, although pricey, is well worth the price of admission.

The aromas of iodine and blackcurrants with roses and lavender make the wine extremely perfumed. It's full-bodied with a tight, fine-tannined palate that shows linear flow through the center palate. It's vertical and integrated, adding depth and serious quality to the wine.

A pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a lush and beautiful wine, with thick layers of red fruit, chocolate, spice and tobacco. The mouthfeel is firm, streamlined and very nicely held together.
