The warm growing season brings decadent aromas of boysenberry and dark cherry, beautifully complemented by layers of jasmine and fresh herbs that maintain a lively freshness. Erbaluna has crafted an interesting aromatic wine that shows sweet jammy fruit, licorice and violets. It still seems young, and has the structure to benefit from a few more years of bottle age, but it drinks well now.

Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon is a 90-proof (45% ABV) Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill Distillery. It is aged 6–8 years and crafted from a mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley, offering a balanced, rich profile with notes of vanilla, caramel, oak, and a hint of spice. This affordable, widely available bourbon is known for its high value, often described as a "hidden gem".

Evan Williams Black Label is a widely popular, value-priced 86-proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon produced by Heaven Hill Distillery. Aged for at least 4–5 years, it features a medium-amber color with a, robust, traditional flavor profile of caramel, vanilla, and oak, making it ideal for mixing or budget-friendly sipping.

Eve Michel Rey Pouilly-Fuissé En Buland 2018 is a white wine from the Burgundy region of France. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, this wine has a pale gold color with a bouquet of delicate floral and fruity aromas. On the palate, it is round and well-balanced with flavors of white peaches and a hint of minerality. The wine has a fresh and long finish with a subtle acidity. This wine pairs well with seafood, shellfish, and white meats.

This Pinot comes from the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, now towards the south of Willamette Valley, harvesting around two to three weeks later than Dundee Hills for example. Biodynamically farmed since 2007, this vineyard is planted on its own roots and the wine sees around 25% whole bunches in the ferment. An interesting nose here, not nearly so buoyant and expressive as some, with a savoury, iodine, almost seaweed-herby character. The black fruit quality comes through on the palate - still savoury and dark, a little roasted chestnut note, firm and taut tannins and a cherry skin bite to the really quite salty, sour orange acidity, though a sweeter cherry flesh fruitiness does begin to assert, the whole picture structured, savoury and multi-faceted.

The estate vineyard, this is dry-farmed and certified organic. Four-fifths of the 1986 planting went into this wine, with tart, wild berry and citrus flavors that penetrate deeply. A whiff of fresh peat moss rises from the glass and invites deeper exploration. These young wines all should benefit from a few more years of bottle age. Paul Gregutt

This Pinot from Oregon stands as a testament to the state's ability to produce wines that can indeed rival those from Burgundy. This realization is further solidified upon tasting this particular wine, which is currently in its optimal drinking window and will remain so for the next few years. It opens up slowly, revealing a salty zest of dark cherry and the wild garrigue—a type of herby scrub found in Burgundy. This wine is a gastronomic delight, becoming one of my favorites when paired with a seared steak accompanied by a red wine pan jus.

The Evesham Wood Sojeau Vineyard Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills) is a structured, cool-climate wine known for its high energy and bright acidity. Exhibit aromas of raspberry, pine, and candied violets, with flavors of tart black berries, dark plum, clove, and citrus zest, often featuring a long, savoury, and mineral-driven finish. 

The somewhat nondescript bouquet is neutral and mildly grainy with some mild aromas of spice and ripe yellow fruit. Palate entry is meek and softly sweet; things improve at midpalate as flavors of charcoal, maple and sugar syrup emerge. Finishes well in a sweet grain manner.

The FALESCO BRUNELLO LE MACIOCHE (also known as Famiglia Cotarella Le Macioche) is a Brunello di Montalcino wine that typically showcases a ruby red color with notes of dried wild plum, undergrowth of fresh juniper, and white musk. On the palate, it offers a deep, fruity character with elegant tannins and a long finish. Some vintages, like the 2019, might exhibit bright cherry fruit, menthol, balsamic herbs, and earthy tones.

Dark garnet with a violet rim. Fresh lifted berry fruit that draws you in! Full yet elegant with bramble aromas and cream, cassis and black cherry flavours on the palate with structure provided by fine tannins with a long rich, ripe finish.

Meat, soil and cherries create a rich nose, with softer cedar, vanilla and coconut peeking through. The palate has more cherries, plus plums, chocolate and a velvety texture reinforced by polished tannins. An acidic bite precedes a long, slightly bitter finish.

Famille Picard's Puligny-Montrachet 5 Chemin du Chateau Chassagne-Montrachet 2018 is a classic expression of this world-renowned white wine from Burgundy, France. The wine is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyards surrounding the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet. It is a rich and complex wine with notes of citrus, apple, pear, and honey, along with a subtle minerality that is typical of Puligny-Montrachet. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a creamy texture and a long, elegant finish. This wine can be enjoyed now or aged for up to a decade.

The nose of this wine is reticent at first but with a decant or time in the glass, elegant aromas of ripe red berries and blue fruits begin to shine through. Hints of clove, cinnamon and savory herbs complement the fruit on the nose. The palate is bright and fresh, with a pop of acidity that keeps the wine from being overpowering. Flavors of Bing cherry, fig and cooked plum shine but do not steal the show, finishing with a savory note. This wine will go great with braised or grilled meats and/or earthy vegetables.

The Colpetrone Antica Chiusina Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a full-bodied red wine that offers intense aromas of dark fruit, leather, and spice. On the palate, it is rich and complex with flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and plum, as well as notes of tobacco and oak. The tannins are firm yet well integrated, providing structure and balance to the wine. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but will also age beautifully over the next several years.

Although 2017 was not a vintage for the ages, excellent winemakers will still create beautiful wines from hand selected grapes. Jessica Pellegrini is a minimalist, using indigenous yeast and "hands-off" winemaking. Like the 2015, it is true to the Sangiovese variety with an expressive nose of cherry, fresh Italian herbs, and tomato leaf. Serve with tomato based pasta dishes like Bolognese or Lasagne.

It immediately begins to impress with seductive aromatics of ripe black cherries and blackberries, which are woven together with exotic spices, tobacco, espresso, florals, gravel and savory nuances all taking shape in the glass.

A stunning wine, it possesses off the charts richness and tremendous depth that just builds with time in the glass. Inky dark fruit, plum, spice, licorice, menthol and crushed berries saturate the palate. 

Since 2002 the vineyards have been managed organically and biodynamically. In 2010 all four vineyards were awarded full Demeter certification and in 2020 they were all also certified by BioGro. Pruning is carried out to leave desired bud numbers thus ensuring moderate controllable yields and to create an even, light penetrable canopy. Irrigation is usually necessary during the later dry summer months. Soil moisture levels are carefully monitored and water is applied only when necessary to maintain appropriate soil moisture levels. All grapes are carefully hand picked, keeping separate any quality differences within blocks due to clones, rootstocks and viticultural trials.
