This soft wine shows a relatively high dosage, giving a ripe strawberry-fruit character. The acidity and fruit are gentle, hinting at a tannic edge from red wine in the blend.

From vines with more than 80 years of age, the intensity of the fruit comes through handily. Lusty textures with a strong tannic backbone and broken stones accompany all the ripe, fresh, peppery red fruits. Give this perhaps a decade of age before pulling a cork.

A solid presence in the range, the strength and malt content continue to mark these out over their contemporaries. Grapefruit peels, sliced juicy orange, and lemon butter icing on the nose. The palate is thinner than others in the range, with crystallized orange, fudge, plus cardamom and mild pepper. The finish of sugared satsumas is boosted by a long lasting trail of spices.

This exquisite 32-year-old Highland single grain whisky, distilled at Invergordon in January 1990 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in August 2022 for their Rare Auld series, offers a luxurious tasting experience. Drawn from single sherry cask number 520009 and bottled at natural strength, it presents enticing aromas of butterscotch toffee, vanilla biscuits, and hints of sherried fruits. On the palate, flavors of vanilla cream biscuits, sugar-glazed red fruits, honey, rich oak, and subtle spices unfold, leading to a sweet and fruity finish with lingering notes of dark chocolate. Complex and indulgent, with only 330 bottles available worldwide.

This Highland single malt from Tullibardine was distilled in 2013 and aged for nine years in a single oak cask. Following this initial maturation period, it spent an additional three months in an octave cask, imparting further complexity to the whisky. Bottled in 2023, only 85 bottles were drawn, marking its inclusion in The Octave series by independent bottlers Duncan Taylor.

Dunville's 12 Year Old PX Cask Single Malt is an award-winning Irish whiskey from The Echlinville Distillery, aged for 12 years and finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, it features a rich, sweet, and complex profile with notes of dried fruits, candied orange, custard, and oak. It is known for its smooth, balanced, and slightly spicy character, without chill filtration.

Dunville’s Three Crowns Irish Whiskey is a premium vintage blend of superior aged whiskeys finished in three of the finest sherry casks.

Nose: Very gentle, floral, sweet and juicy. Orchard fruits intertwined with nutty caramel, nougat and powerful butterscotch overtones.

Palate: The initial sweetness from the malt gives way to light citrus fruits, oranges, lemon, green apples, pepper and clove. The wood spice and lovely oak tannins firm up this whiskey before the oloroso sherry casks take the final curtain.

Finish: Orchard fruits and caramels give way as subtle notes of walnut, nougat, vanilla and dried fruits come through in the soft lingering finish.

The DUPLESSIS CHABLIS 1ER VAILLONS is known for its vibrant citrus and white fruit notes, layered over a characteristic minerality (oyster shell, slate), and a touch of well-integrated oak. It exhibits a broad, fruity palate and a fresh, lively nose. The wine is often described as having a floral, elegant character with a mineral core.

Although the Upper Valdarno in Tuscany, where the winery is located is steeped in history, the young owners of Meca and Rocco are a brother and sister team with a combined age of just over 40 years old. Originally from Calabria where they learned the land, agriculture inthe toe of Italy's boot is difficult, so the family decide to pursue opportunities in Tuscany. They produce olive oil and and vegetables along with wine, all farmed organically. The Vertigine is made with 100% Canaiolo, typically a blending grape for Chianti and Chianti Classico wines. This comes from their youngest vineyard, hand picke and hand selected for a finished wine that is juicy, fresh, with lots of pretty red fruit of cherry and raspberry. A unique and lovely wine.

In the commune of La Morra, Sergio Molino vinifies wine from only 2.5 ha of Nebbiolo vines. The Molino family vineyards, bottled under the Ernesto Molino label is an homage to Sergio's father. Like many micro-wineries, it's a "hands-off" approach, allowing the terroir to speak for itself. Cranberry, violet, hints of vanilla and even an iron note, put this one away for a while to let those austere tannins settle down. Best after 2027.

Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon by Michael David Winery is a bold, full-bodied California red known for intense dark fruit (blackberry, plum, cherry), mocha, vanilla, and spicy notes (cinnamon, clove, espresso) from rich oak aging, offering a powerful palate with velvety tannins and a long, complex finish, pairing well with grilled meats, stews, and hearty dishes.

The 2020 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, aging for around 12 months in one year-old French oak barriques. It has an alcohol of 13.03%, a pH of 3.78 and an IPT (tannin index) of 80. Deep garnet-purple in colour, it rolls out of the glass with expressive, upfront notes of baked black and red cherries, plum preserves and blackcurrant cordial, followed by hints of new leather, tobacco leaf and a medicinal waft. The medium-bodied palate is chock-full of savoury flavours, with a chewy texture and just enough freshness, finishing a little rustic.

Ed Knows Merlot is a dry, red wine from Moldova with aromas of red fruits, cherries, and plums, with a smooth, balanced character. It is a medium-bodied, approachable wine that is good for both drinking on its own and pairing with food.

Ed Knows Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, dry white wine from Moldova (Valul Lui Traian region), featuring bright citrus notes of grapefruit and lime, with hints of green apple, pear, and tropical fruit. Edda (‘she’ in Salento dialect) is the feminine and sensual soul of San Marzano. It is a complex white wine, full of Mediterranean notes. Noticeable acidity intertwined with an enveloping and elegant warmth, savoury and mineral notes on the palate. The Chardonnay grapes give the wine finesse and longevity, together with different varieties indigenous to Puglia, that year after year compete to complement the blend.

Edinburgh Gin’s Raspberry line comes in two primary expressions: a full-strength gin and a traditional gin liqueur. Both are crafted with fresh, locally sourced Scottish raspberries, delivering a vibrant, sweet-tart profile packed with natural fruit flavors.

Hiding in a small valley east of the picturesque town of Pitlochry, Edradour is a small operation producing fruity un-peated distillate under the Edradour name, and a meaty and peaty version named Ballechin. This release from Equilibrium (aka Whisky Sponge) is a vatting of a cask of each, both matured in refill ex-sherry casks.

Efe Göbek Rakısı is a premium Turkish rakı, known for its high-quality production, using 100% fresh Anatolian grape spirits (suma) and aniseed, resulting in a smooth, rich, and balanced flavor. It is distinguished by its triple-distillation in copper alembics, utilizing only the central "göbek" (heart) of the distillate for exceptional purity and a velvety texture.

The El Dorado 12 Year Old Special Reserve Rum is blended from aged stocks (the youngest being no less than 12 years old) from the original Wooden Enmore Coffey still, the original metal Diamond Coffey still, as well as from the ancient Port Mourant double wooden pot still which was used to produce ‘navy’ rum for the English Admiralty. All of the Demerara Rum produced by El Dorado is aged exclusively in American oak (bourbon barrels).

Nose: Sweet, toffee, vanilla, spices, oak. Hints of smoke.

Palate: Cocoa, caramel, prunes, spices, vanilla.

Finish: Long, sublimely smooth, hints of smoke on the tail.

El Dorado 15yo is a remarkable rum, whose greatest achievement was collecting the Wray & Nephew Trophy for Best Rum in the World at the International Wine & Spirits Challenge for an unprecedented four years running.

Nose: The best Christmas cake you can imagine. Refined, enticing aromas of candied peel, allspice, cinnamon, dried fruit and golden syrup.

Palate: Complex, spicy dried fruit, with interweaving layers of honey, gingerbread and toasty oak. This is very classy stuff, never overbearing.

Finish: Honeyed, spicy finish that persists.

Comment: An exceptional rum, which has complexity in spades yet is beautifully balanced. Anyone who dismisses rum as a one-dimensional category should try this, and prepare to be wowed.

El Dorado 21 Year Old Special Reserve is a highly acclaimed, premium Demerara rum from Guyana, aged for 21 to 25 years in oak barrels. El Dorado Single Still Enmore is a 12-year-old Guyanese Demerara rum produced from the historic 1880 wooden Coffey still (EHP mark), the last of its kind. It is known for a rich, complex profile featuring aromas of butterscotch, coconut, and apple, with a smoky cedar, dried fruit, and toasted nut finish.

Its aromas are intense and elegant. Cabernet Franc brings sweet spices, black pepper and light notes of eucalyptus and thyme. Malbec brings notes of ripe black fruits, blackberries and black cherries. The oak aging gives a touch of chocolate and vanilla to blend.
