Pierre Ferrand 1840 Original Formula is a 45% ABV Grande Champagne Cognac designed to replicate the style of 19th-century "three-star" cognacs favored in classic cocktails. Made with yuzu fruit, the whole fruit is placed in brandy for a week to steep. The drunken yuzu is then distilled in their copper stills. The next step is an infusion of more yuzu and other spices, using their centuries old recipes. The final result is a rich, round curacao that has a nose of spicy yuzu, tangerine, vanilla, marzipan and a delicate hint of flowers, pepper, mint and herbs. The palate follows with candied citrus fruits, tropical fruits, almonds, nutmeg and tea, and of course, more yuzu! This would make an amazing Mai Tai cocktail.

Named after the Seggio river that crosses the vineyard, it is a blend of 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. The nose exhibits lovely fresh, crunchy fruit, enriched with mineral and spicy notes. The palate is medium bodied with hints of red berries and elegant silky tannins.
