The history of Chateau Duhart-Milon is not as well known as it should be. In the 18th century the wines of Milon became the "second" wine for Chateau Lafite. The 1855 classification awarded Duhart-Milon the only 4th growth in Pauillac, recognizing it for the quality of its soil. Sometime between 1830-1840 35 acres was left to the Casteja family who subsequently possessed a 99acre vinyard name Duhart-Milon. Over the years the property changed hands many times and suffered a decline in the quality of the wines. The property was acquired in 1962 by the Rothschild family who totally overhauled the vineyards and brought back the quality of the wine as a 4th growth. The 2019 Duhart-Milon is a red Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with an up front fruity nose of black currant and blackberry, along with typical Pauillac nuances of pencil shavings, forest floor and cedar. Round, layered and creamy through the palate this wine has excellent potential for great ageing Drink from 2025-2045.

The 2001 Léoville Las Cases is a vintage I’ve encountered many times. Now at two decades old, it has a generous nose with those black plums still in situ, along with graphite and cedar; this bottle is a little more backward, probably due to the provenance. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, white pepper and sage and fine grip. Though it’s not as precise or chiseled as recent vintages, there is admirable complexity on the lightly peppered, tobacco- and rooibos-tinged finish. Excellent. 2021 - 2050

Aged in a mix of American white oak barrels, oloroso casks, and cabernet sauvignon barriques. Sherry, vanilla, caramel, ripe cherries, and sultanas on the nose. The palate yields characteristic Dalmore orange, plus brittle toffee, bitter chocolate, and cherry liqueur. Spicy licorice and soft oak in the finish.

The warehouses at Glenora are not heated, so aging virtually stops in winter. Thus, the whisky doesn’t reach its peak until its mid-teens. By then, it is malty, fresh, crisp, and grassy, with hints of vanilla and delicate, slightly bitter fruits, including apricots and citrus pith. Fragile floral notes join exotic hints of mango and a nuttiness reminiscent of almond skins and sweetened coconut. Air do dheag slàinte, Glenora , as they say in Cape Breton’s Gaelic Highlands. Slow-roasted corn, marzipan, cinnamon, nutmeg, and kettle corn start this experience and slowly fade to corn on the cob with butter, salt, and pepper. The attack is frank, without agressivity, with an almost atypical suavity for a Blanc de Blancs, which is often described as being more angular than creamy. Nose: Fresh aromatic oils and spices with orchard fruits and barley on a background of toasted wood.

Taste: Full spicy body. A hint of cloves along with the fruity sweetness of green apples, rounded off with toasted oak. Followed by lingering flavours of spices and barley.

The 2019 bottling marks the 20th anniversary of the production of Oreno. This “Super Tuscan” of Merlot, Cabernet and Petit Verdot are blended beautifully with aromas and flavours of black fruit, exotic spice, cured tobacco and new leather.

Seguin-Manuel Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Clos des Mouches vineyard, a premier cru appellation in the Beaune subregion of Burgundy. The wine is aged in oak barrels, with 30% new oak, for up to 18 months. It has aromas of white flowers, honey, and ripe tropical fruits, such as pineapple and mango, with a subtle minerality. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with flavors of pear, citrus, and hazelnut. The wine has a long and creamy finish, with a good balance of acidity and oak. Seguin-Manuel Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc is a classic expression of white Burgundy, known for its elegance, complexity, and aging potential. It is a great match for seafood, poultry, and creamy sauces. The wine has consistantly earned high scores from various wine critics, including Wine Spectator and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

This historic vineyard located right in the village of Barolo, is often considered one of the best, if not the most famous. Light in colour, it is aromatic and rich with fruit and floral fragrances, and strong warm spiced scents. Light, elegant, feminine, and velvety, this 100% Nebbiolo will age for many years. An elegant and velvety wine, it is characterized by its structure and balance. Gorgeous.

The Lelarge-Pugeot Extra Brut Millesime 2008 is a sparkling wine made from a blend of Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%) grapes grown in the Vrigny Premier Cru subregion of Champagne. It has a golden color with fine and persistent bubbles and aromas of ripe fruit, citrus, and brioche. On the palate, it is dry, complex, and full-bodied, with flavors of white peach, apricot, toasted almonds, and a hint of honey. The wine has a long and mineral finish, which makes it a great pairing for seafood, white meat, and creamy dishes.

Talisker Distillers Edition is a 45.8% ABV Isle of Skye single malt, double-matured in Amoroso-seasoned American oak casks for enhanced richness. It blends signature maritime peat, smoke, and black pepper with deep, sweet sherry notes, including dried fruits, vanilla, and cocoa, offering a more complex, rounded, and sweeter profile than the standard 10-year.

Nose: Intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and cherry, with hints of cedar, tobacco, and vanilla.

The 2016 Château Talbot is a highly-rated (93-96 points), medium to full-bodied Saint-Julien Fourth Growth, offering a rich, polished profile. Pristine, attractive fruit with perfume and freshness. Dark-berry and plum notes, as well as cassis and brambleberries, define the character of both nose and palate. The tannins are saturated in ripe dark berries and plums and deliver a superbly fresh, shimmering, dark-fruited finish. Wow-factor is strong here in 2016.

The palate is sweet and spicy, with Jaffa orange segments dipped in sea salt, toffee, and dark chocolate. Orange and oak in the medium-length finish.
