Chateau d'Armailhac showcases all of the hallmarks of its big brother, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, which is right next door. This is seriously juicy. Succulent ripe fruits dominate the palate, with a cool and racy undertone. The wine is ripe, showing flair and full of gravitas. Aged in 50 percent new and 50 percent old oak from Mouton itself, it has a creamy, fulfilling character. This is a wine which will certainly benefit from spending a few years in the cellar. This could be a treat and might just be a bargain too.

94 Points - James Suckling" Very minerally, silky and refined with a full body, firm tannins and currants, stones and citrus. Racy and fine. This has a little more Merlot in the blend but is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon as always. One of the best Armailhacs in a long time."

This is really excellent with creamy tannins and a lovely berry, currant and blueberry character. Full and luscious for the vintage. Superb. Second wine of Ausone.

Distilled exclusively with organic barley grown the previous year by Mid Coul Farms near Inverness, this 8 year old was aged in bourbon barrels. Barley, salted butter, peach, malt, and vanilla on the nose, plus cocoa powder. Quite piercing citrus fruits on the smooth palate, with more vanilla, fudge, overripe banana, and milk chocolate. Spicy oak and a suggestion of brine in the finish.

Spicy on the nose, with deep, full tropical fruit notes, praline, and marzipan. The palate is silky, with fudge and raisins, then cherry liqueur. The finish yields dark chocolate and citrus fruit, plus peppery oak.

Moutai Chun 1992 (often referred to with the "Ib" or award-winning white bottle) is a premium 53% ABV Chinese Baijiu. Released to commemorate the 1992 establishment of the Moutai Group Technology Development Company, it is celebrated for its rich, mellow sauce aroma, smooth profile, and award-winning bottle design.

The Balvenie 14 Year Old The Week of Peat is a 48.3% ABV Speyside single malt, part of the Balvenie Stories Collection, created from heavily peated malted barley distilled for one week annually. It balances gentle earthy smoke with classic honey, vanilla, and citrus notes, resulting in a velvety, creamy, and distinctively smoky flavor profile. 

Jian Nan Chun - Dong Fang Hong is a prestigious, high-end strong-aroma (Nongxiang) Baijiu from Mianzhu, Sichuan, representing the pinnacle of the brand's traditional, multi-grain (sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat, corn) brewing techniques. Known for its complex, tropical fruit aroma, it offers a smooth, balanced, and savory flavor with a long-lasting, refined finish.

Clarendon 2007 refers to a series of highly regarded Jamaican pot still rums distilled in 2007 at the Clarendon Distillery (often associated with the Monymusk brand). These rums are generally bottled by independent bottlers (such as Rum Sponge, Plantation/Maison Ferrand, Thompson Bros, and Kill Devil) at various ages, mostly around 13–15 years old, and are celebrated for their intense, fruity, and "funky" character.

The Moonbroch Glen Moray 2013 is a 9-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled at 54.3% ABV as part of the "Spaceman" indie series. It features a flavor profile of creamy vanilla, honeyed malt, orchard fruits, Turkish delight, and soft oak, offering a smooth, sweet, and approachable palate.

The Glenlivet 12 Year Old (1.14L) is a renowned Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, known for its smooth,, fruity character and bright gold color. Matured in traditional and American oak casks, it features vibrant notes of pineapple, citrus, vanilla, and honey, culminating in a creamy finish. This 40% ABV, 1.14L bottle is a classic choice.

Japan has come a long way with making whisky with many master distillers taking their training right in Scotland and importing the Scottish heather for peat making. There is much quality here in Japanese whisky and dad would no doubt be surprised and delighted with this one, aged in a Sherry cask to give it nutty, toasty aromas and flavours.

Ben Nevis Distillery is a distillery in Scotland that is located at Lochy Bridge in Fort William and sits just at the base of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles, which rises to 4,409 feet above sea level. A coastal distillery in the Western Highlands, Ben Nevis draws its water from the Allt a'Mhuilinn which originates from two pools, Coire Leis and Coire na'Ciste. Founded in 1825 as an independent enterprise, it has been owned by Nikka Whisky Distilling of Tokyo, Japan, since 1989.
Nose: Treacle, strawberries and vanilla.
Palate: Sweet - with anise, Granny Smith apples and Kraft caramels.
Finish: Long and lingering with a rye spiciness and oak.

The Tollot-Beaut family is a based at Chorey-Les-Beaune with vineyards located in Beaune, Savigny, Aloxe-Corton and a small holding in Corton Charlemagne. The 2020 Corton Grand Cru, which comes from Les Combes as usual (though not on the label), has a lovely nose with brambly red fruit, black truffle and subtle pencil box aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, very fine tension and an almost sorbet-fresh, quite mouth-coating finish. It will require time in bottle...but this Corton will be worth the wait.

"Baked apples and pears, laced with white flowers, are complemented by hints of raw almond as the 2020 Bianco Contrada Passochianche (PC) blossoms in the glass. It's elegant and silky in feel, with ripe melon and inner florals that cascade across the palate, as a core of minerality and hints of spice reveal themselves toward the close. The 2020 tapers offincredibly long with a bitter twang, as hints of young peach and inner herbal tones fade. The Passochianche is just a baby today, yet it's packed full of potential. The balance here is unreal. It hails from high-elevation vines (1,000 meters) planted in deep, sandy volcanic soils. The wine spends thirty-six hours macerating on the skins, and then refines for seventeen months in neutral fifteen-hectoliter barrels." -Vinous

Luxury is not typically associated with white wine, but this top-rated wine made from Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco is without a doubt, one of Italy’s most iconic. The beautiful texture and minerality of this wine will help it age for decades.

We don’t often think about Nebbiolo outside of Barolo or Barbaresco, but the northern region of Gattinara is a quality region growing points-worthy Spanna, as it is known here. Elegant with aromas and flavours of dried roses, raspberry jam and hints of toasted nuts and vanilla. If you’ve never tried Nebbiolo from Northern Piemonte, this is a good place to start. 

The region of Patagonia in the southern tip of Argentina has become more well known for cold climate winemaking in recent years. Bodega Noemia Malbec comes from a small 1.5 ha vineyard of pre-phylloxera vines planted in 1932. The wine is well-balanced and elegant with well integrated intense dark fruit notes with hints of dark chocolate , coffee and spice. Full-bodied with a persistent, long finish.

Grgich Hills Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium, sustainably-farmed Napa Valley red, known for a balanced, "Old World" style (similar to 1980s Napa cabs) rather than overly jammy profiles. It features bright acidity, velvety tannins, and complex notes of dark fruit (black cherry, blackberry), herbs, cedar, and earth.

Winegrowers since 1860, Domaine Barge continues its family owned business with 5.7 ha in Cote-Rotie, 1 ha in Condrieu and 1.5ha in Saint-Joseph. A typical Cote-Rotie with 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier delivers a refined, classic nose of raspberries, pepper, and a touch of cedar and spice. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity and grip.This has the elegant profile one finds often in bottlings made exclusively from the Côte Blonde vineyard of Cote-Rotie.

This impressive Magnum bottle (1.5L) is home to a stunner of a Cabernet Sauvignon, produced by Master of Wine, James Cluer. A youthful, deep purple-hued wine, which is a true expression of the vineyard’s soul. It shows Napa Valley’s trademark power with intensely ripe black fruit, dark chocolate nuances, licorice, and hints of black olive and dusty stones that are all hallmarks of this exquisite terroir. Deep attractive dark ruby color. The nose is pure, precise and focused, revealing delicate and fine aromas of raspberry, cassis, blackberry and wild strawberry, associated to subtle notes of liquorice, coffee, ink and earth. The wine is juicy and voluminous, filling the mouth with polished and smooth tannins, leaving an overall impression of harmony, length and persistence. Its great structure and density are well balanced by good acidity, characteristic of the great terroir of Puente Alto that aligns ripeness and freshness in this superb and exceptional vintage.

The nose is a light lunch on a rocky beach, where the dusty stones contrast with the sanguinity of bresaola and the richness of sweet chili jam. The jam spreads onto the palate, but the meatiness doesn't go anywhere either, before a crackle of black pepper sets up a lingering finish.

Nose: Intense aromas of ripe red berries, cherries, and plums, with hints of dried herbs and spices.

Taste: Rich and full-bodied, with flavors of blackberries, black cherries, and dark chocolate. Subtle notes of tobacco and leather add complexity.

Palate: Well-structured with velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish. Balanced acidity and a touch of minerality contribute to the overall elegance of the wine.

DOMAINE TORTOCHOT GEVREY 1ER CRU CHAMPEAUX exhibits complexity married perfectly with elegance, the wine is full-bodied and this comes very much to the fore. There is a fruitiness together with touches of flowers - roses and wallflower. This wine may be kept and be allowed to mature for some years.

Dark yellow with a hint of amber. Quince, blackcurrants, tobacco notes in the nose. Peach and honey tones appear on the palate made smooth by the vintage. The sweetness of the residual sugar and crisp acids form a beautiful harmony in the wine. The notes from wood-barrel ageing nestle into the taste of the wine. Long finish and best accompanied with blue cheeses, goose liver and desserts.

The history of the Rebourseau family goes back to 1782, humble farmers involved in viticulture which were passed on from one generation to the next. Through the years the objective was to bring the production of each appellation to its best level, ensuring the wines reflect the most accurate version of their climates. Clos Vougeot, which covers approximately 50ha is considered one of the best Grand Cru sites in Burgundy. The Rebourseau is a wine with pronounced minerality expressing earthy notes of fern, moss and truffle, revealing velvety tones of coffee beans and black radish.

The Groffier family is a longstanding name in the Cotes du Nuit. Their family can be dated back to the 1800's, but it was grandfather Robert who started bottling wines at the Domaine. Two generations later, Nicholas Groffier has taken over elevating the wines to an unprecented level yet still maintaining the traditions learned from both his father and grandfather. Although their cellars are located in Morey-St.-Denis, they own no vineyards there, rather 0.8ha in other appellations, most notably Bonnes Mares, and one full hectare in the Chambolle Musigny Les Amoureuses, making them the largest land owner of the area. This 100% pinot noir is a muscular wine with black cherry and blackberry aromas. The palate is full-bodied with a serious tannic grip around the iron, tobacco and earthy notes. This has great ageability on it, put this one away to let it mellow.

Domaine Harmand -Geoffroy is a family owned winery dating back to the 19th century. The family owns 22ha of vineyards in the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. The Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy Vieilles Vignes is the product of very old vines between 50-90 years. The result is one of the most powerful wines in the cellar that shows dark, almost somber fruit, a wine that is reticent in its youth and quite profound with seven to ten years of age. Medium-bodied, it's well-balanced with a big intense bouquet of black cherry, blueberries, wet earth, leather, violets, and a whiff of menthol.

A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Haut-Bailly was harvested from the 9th to 25th of September. It has an alcohol of 14.3%. Deep purple-black in colour, it prances out of the glass with naturally beautiful notions of fresh black cherries, violets, mulberries and boysenberries, giving way to hints of redcurrant jelly, star anise, tilled soil and menthol. The medium to full-bodied palate is delicately crafted with velvety/grainy tannins and fantastic freshness framing the perfumed red and black berry layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant-earth note.

This wine is both weighty and stylish. Its power comes from luscious black fruits that are juicy and powerful. Expect this wine to age well and drink from 2024. Roger Voss

Flowers, leafy herbs, mint, espresso, cherries, plums and a hint of blueberries come alive in the aromatic profile. But the best is yet to come with its array of minerals, rocks, stones and salt-tinted red and black fruits that cross your palate with length, lift, precision, purity and soft, smooth textures. It is difficult to believe that this is their second wine.

A blend of 71.4% Sauvignon Blanc and 28.6% Semillon, harvested 20th to 27th August and with an alcohol of 13.9%, the 2020 Haut Brion Blanc slowly unfurls to reveal notes of fresh pears, spiced apple slices, orange zest and lemongrass, plus touches of wet pebbles, dillseed and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate wears its lightly spicy apple and pear layers with grace and sophistication, supported by a racy backbone and subtly creamy texture, finishing long and mineral-laced. It will need time, but there's no doubting it's a knock-out.

The wine has a rich colour with a garnet hue. The nose opens on blackberry notes mingled with refined hints of roasted coffee beans. With airing, noble and delicate notes of graphite, flint and cocoa round off this very attractive array of aromas.

The 2019 Château Haut-Brion Blanc is a more Sauvignon Blanc-dominated white that includes 36% Semillon. Its light gold hue is followed by a bright, racy Sauvignon nose of crushed limes, caramelized grapefruit, white flowers, and subtle minerality. It's incredibly pure, vibrant, and crystalline on the nose.

Once again, this wine is of first-growth quality, not only from an intellectual perspective, but in its hedonistic characteristics. More open-knit inaccessible than the 1996, Ducru's 1995 exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color folowed by knock-out nose of blueberry and black raspberry/cassis fruit intertwined with minerals, flowers, and subtle toasty new oak. Like its younger sibling, the wine possesses a sweet, rich mid-palate (from extract and ripeness, not sugar), layers of flavors good delineation and grip, but generally unobtrusive tannin and acidity. It is a classic, compelling example of Ducru Beaucaillou that should not be missed. Drink 2003-2025.

Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with tightly knit, very subtle layers of minerals, floral notions and black and red berries, all framed by exquisitely ripe, silt-like tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing with epic length and depth.
