Le Grappin began in 2011 with a vision to seek out special sites in the over-looked, under-appreciated reaches of Burgundy and to seek out viticulteurs who tend their vines throughout the year with exceptional care and attention, to give the grapes the best opportunity to shine. This wine comes from the Beaune Premier Cru, made from 100% Pinot Noir from 40 year old vines. It has aromas of red berries, black cherry, and a hint of earth. On the palate, it is dry, medium-bodied, well-balanced, and elegant, with flavors of strawberry, raspberry, and a touch of spice with a long smooth finish.

This unique product features cigar leaves fermented and aged in ex-bourbon casks, then used to age the rum for 8 years in this impressive decanter. Named for the Kuna tribe, one of Panama's oldest communities it is complex and luxurious with distinct tobacco aromas and flavours along with crunchy toffee, orange peel and roasted coffee. It is a premium gin produced by Asta Morris, a Belgian independent bottler known for its exceptional whiskies and spirits. The Soul Gin is made in collaboration with Belgian gin producer Filliers, and it is made from a blend of carefully selected botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, orange and lemon peel, and a secret ingredient that gives it its unique flavor.

One of the original producers that grows Trebbiano Abruzzese, one of the few quality grapes of the Trebbiano group. There is not much of this exported and even fewer bottles of the Montepulciano. Francesco Valentini and his son are the only humans allowed in the cellar as Francesco never wants to introduce foreign microbes or yeasts to interfere with the ageing of the wine. These are some of the most ageable white wines in the world and in fact, could be considered “unicorns” as they are hard to find here in Canada.  Truly collectible.

Along with the 2018 already in house, the 2019 has since arrived and now is the time to pick up a mini vertical of these wines. Highly sought after and with a cult following, these wines are rare. This is a complex and opulent wine, which has become famous for its incredible longevity. The nose is full of ripe yellow fruits and white flowers. The palate is rich, warm and well balanced with beautiful acidity and sapidity.

The Derthona of Vigneti Massa is produced exclusively from white grapes that have always been cultivated in the Apennine and pre-Apennine hills of the "marca Obertenga"; with phylloxera has risked extinction, now it is regaining the ancient spaces: from 4 hectares in 2000 to the current 150 hectares cultivated by over forty producers. The Derthona comes from a cold maceration of about 40/45 hours, with subsequent fermentation for about 12 months in stainless steel tanks and periodic "batonnage" of the lees for about 12 months

Its straw-yellow colour is accompanied by a fine persistent mousse crowning the disc with a delicate and harmonious cord. On the nose, the first aromas are very complex and awaken the senses. After a few moments, with much delicacy, subtle notes of flowers and fresh fruit are married with more subtle lemony flavours. The nose is elegant and powerful, indicating a wine of great complexity and beautiful harmony. Once in your mouth, aromas of butter, crème brûlée and spices blossom awaken taste buds. It is a gourmand and generous wine with exceptional freshness. After several minutes of tasting, this wine’s complexity and scarcity give an explosion of flavours in the mouth, with a dominant citrus fruit and some salinity on the finish, a natural aromatic symphony.

Light gold-yellow colour. The nose is still on its reserve but allows for glimpses of beautiful aromas of fruit, ripe citrus, wet stone and spices (thyme). Its aromatic delicacy does not predict the powerful attack of this Brand. Rich, dense, and intense, it vigorously envelops the palate. The mouth becomes strict on the finish with a sapid mineral mouthfeel. There is no doubt that this wine will close up slightly in the months following the bottling. You will then have to be patient and give it time to open up. This Brand is dense and strict. It embodies the verticality expected of such a granitic terroir and has excellent aging potential. Try with oily fish dishes.

After a classic winter, spring settled down with warm températures, but fabulous weather in April slowed down the vines’ evolution. May was rainy and was followed by a warm summer with heat waves. However, a few thunderstorm épisodes brought enough rain to allow the maturation of the grapes to continue. The harvest started in early September with an excellent sanitary level of the grapes. Vinification: whole bunch fermentation for approximately two weeks; the wines are then aged in our XVth century cellar for a period between 14 and 18 months—moderate use of new oak.

Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Dufuoleur family has been steeped in Burgundian winemaking and culture for more than 400 years. Their property of 30ha runs from the village of Fixin in the north to Santenay in the south. The Fraîches Eaux Nuits-Saint-Georges is a very small plot planted to Pinot Noir grapes with an average age of 45 years. Aromas of blackthorn, strawberry and cherry dominated with further nuances of tobacco, candied strawberry and forest floor notes on the palate. Nuits-Saint-Georges offers more full-bodied examples of Pinot Noir and this wine is no exception.

Duchesse de Magenta Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Garenne 2018 is a white wine from the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France. The wine is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Garenne vineyard, which is known for producing wines with a delicate balance of fruit and acidity. Copperworks Cask Finished Gin is a unique gin that has been aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of three months. This aging process imparts flavors of vanilla, caramel, and oak to the gin, giving it a smooth and rich taste. The gin is made using a traditional copper still and is flavored with a blend of botanicals, including juniper, coriander, angelica, and cardamom. Copperworks Cask Finished Gin is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but can also be used in a variety of cocktails.

Exporting its wines in over 70 countries, this estate located south of Champagne has been flying on its own since the early 1980s. A blend of four to five harvest years including 20% réserve, the Brut Sélection enjoys a minimal aging period of 20 months. Floral and saline notes, almond, chalk and yeast make up the lively and forthright mouth

This has a many-hued color with strong pink tinges and fine bubbles. The nose is fresh and direct, with aromas reminiscent of cherries, blackberries, pomegranates and red currants. On the palate, the wine shows a deliciously full body that follows on perfectly from the nose. Its flavors remind one of fresh strawberries and raspberries. The finish has a pleasantly acidulous character that adds to the impression of finesse given by this romantic and well-balanced wine.

Made with grapes grown following biodynamic principles and fermented with wild yeasts, this earthy rosato has aromas of sunbaked soil, eucalyptus and ripe berries. The Robert Keenan Winery is located in the Spring Mountain District, high in the Mayacamas mountain range above the town of Saint Helena. We planted eleven acres of Merlot vines in the rocky soils surrounding the winery, and we believe this mountainside vineyard produces some of the finest Merlot in all of Napa Valley. Sited above the dense fog that creeps up the Napa Valley most evenings, the vineyard warms earlier in the morning, and temperatures remain warm throughout the night. Combining these warm temperatures, steep hillside vine rows, and gravelly soils promotes stress on the vines, increasing the intensity of flavours and aromas in the finished wine.

The Tollot-Beaut family is a based at Chorey-Les-Beaune with vineyards located in Beaune, Savigny, Aloxe-Corton and a small holding in Corton Charlemagne. The 2020 Corton Grand Cru, which comes from Les Combes as usual (though not on the label), has a lovely nose with brambly red fruit, black truffle and subtle pencil box aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, very fine tension and an almost sorbet-fresh, quite mouth-coating finish. It will require time in bottle...but this Corton will be worth the wait.

The Premier Cru of Les Epenots is one of Pommard's best known names, referring to thethree climats of Les Grands Epenots, Les Petits Epenot and Clos des Epeneaux. These wines can be labelled under these individual names or as "Epenots". All vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir and are considered some of the best -rich and structured with spicy, earthy overtones and considerable elegance. The Parent Les Epenotsis 100% Pinot Noir and very expressive and complex with violet and red fruit aromas of cherry raspberry. The mouth is fleshy and concentrated, and the tannins are fine, velvety, and elegant.

This elegant and charming rosé wine is a blend of Caladoc (crossing of Grenache and Malbec), Syrah, and Grenache. The summer breezes in this area along with the Mistral preserve the freshness and purity of the fruit. It is a harmony of complex aromas leading into round, pleasant palate.

Domaine Harmand -Geoffroy is a family owned winery dating back to the 19th century. The family owns 22ha of vineyards in the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. Most of the vines are over 50-years old, some reaching 85 years. The Lavaux St. Jacques is a Premier Cru vineyard located just west of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. This 9.5ha vineyard is planted entirely to Pinot Noir and is considered to be one of the best Premier Cru in the region. The resulting wines are rich and lush. Matured in 50% new oak, this 100% pinot noir shows mineral intensity with spicy black fruit overlaying an earthy core. This powerful wine needs time to reveal its inner layers, but an underlying sense of freshness promises that this wine will age for decades.
