Initially very compact on the palate, lots of juicy fruit, then a beautiful interplay of cassis, blackberries and cherry. Crisp tannins. Long finish. One of Ksara's most internationally acclaimed wines. Decant at least one hour before drinking. Still good ageing potential. Good food companion, Ksara's winemaker James Palgé recommends game, but can also be enjoyed on its own.

Ripe aroma with abundant notes of pepper, blackberries, black plums and chocolate, all very concentrated and rich. Very good texture on the palate, with tannins that are still firm and that will ensure it lives on in the bottle. The excellent acidity gives it the virtue of being able to be tasted right away with great pleasure. It will always be an excellent bet.

This Syrah, crafted from the SH99 Syrah clone of the 'Karibib Vineyard' in the Polkadraai Hills, is a masterpiece for Syrah enthusiasts. With only the Syrah clone and a touch of sulfur, this wine embodies the essence of its vineyard. Hand-harvested fruit was fermented naturally in a concrete fermenter with skins and stems for 10 days, then aged in a 15hL concrete egg for 10 months with gross lees intact. “Colibri” is Italian for hummingbird and considered a symbol of freedom. From a well-known region of Italy, from family-owned vineyards, the wines are not just non-alcoholic, but certified organic. This spumante has a beautiful coral pink colour. On the nose, it reveals scents of small red berries, honey and apple. Crisp palate with citrus character mixed with cranberries and raspberries. Good texture from the bubbles, and pleasant acidity that brings freshness and a firm finish.

Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, subtle rim brightening. Delicate liquorice, ripe red cherry fruit, some cassis and candied orange zest in the background. Medium complexity, delicate dried plums, fresh acidity, blackberry fruit on the finish, mineral aftertaste, already easy to drink.

Piekenierskloof's mountain vineyards, located near the Cederberg Wilderness Area, are renowned for producing exceptional Grenache from dry land bush vines. Neil discovered the oldest Grenache vineyard in the country that each year yields a limited amount of grapes. The vineyard produced consistently award winning Grenache since 2007. The alcoholic fermentation is initiated in stainless steel tank with the malolactic fermentation being completed in French oak barrels. The wine is aged for 14 months in a combination of new, 2nd and 3rd passage larger French oak barrels.The wine has inviting red berry and creamy strawberry flavours, complemented by a creamy texture and silky tannins. The oldest of these vines, planted in 1966 on their own roots, remain un-grafted and disease-free, contributing to the wine's elegance, finesse, and sweet fruit character. The region's extreme temperature variations, with hot days and cold nights, along with its Table Mountain sandstone and shale soils, further enhance the distinctiveness of the Grenache from this area. Light in colour, and although high(er) in alcohol, the wine is well-balanced. Put a slight chill on it for optimal flavour. Another great Neil Ellis wine. 

Zacapa Edición Negra is a rich, dark rum inspired by Guatemala's natural elements, including the fiery intensity of its volcanoes. Crafted from a blend of rums aged between 6 and 24 years, it matures in select barrels, including double charred American oak casks, imparting a smoky intensity. Sauvignon Blanc is much loved for its freshness, mouth watering acidity and upfront fruit. This is a full, richer style of Sauvignon Blanc. The vintage in stock was an excellent white wine vintage. It has the freshness of the cool growing season combined with the fruit expression of a warm end to the vintage and moderate alcohols thanks to the higher yields. Tropical fruits, with underlying tones of pineapple and passion fruit on a fresh, crisp and palate with prodigious length.

On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis, small notes of wild strawberry associated with small touches of small ripe/crushed red berries as well as hints of mild tobacco, tonka bean, mocha, cardamom, a subtle hint of zan, juicy violet plum, discreet hints of coffee, vanilla and an imperceptible almost saline hint (in the background). Tannins are precise, structuring, coating. Good length. Like a square of silk, we perceive thousands of small grains/threads that melt in the mouth.
