Kujira Single Grain 31YO is a rare, highly exclusive Japanese Ryukyu whisky. Distilled from 100% premium Indica rice and fermented with traditional black Koji, it is matured for over three decades in ex-bourbon, sherry, and white oak casks, and finished in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks.

Bottled at 40% ABV, it features notes of heather honey, citrus, and oak, offering a smooth, slightly smoky taste.

The Kurayoshi Sherry Cask Pure Malt is a Japanese whisky from Matsui Distillery, aged for over 3 years in oak and finished in sherry casks. Bottled at 43%–46% ABV, it features a vibrant, sherried profile with notes of dried fruit (figs, raisins), chocolate, nuts, and a touch of citrus, resulting in a balanced, lingering sweet-bitter finish.

Kurayoshi 12 Year Old is a premium Japanese blended malt whisky from Matsui Shuzou, featuring a mix of malt whiskies (including Scottish) aged for at least 12 years in ex-bourbon casks. It offers a fragrant, complex profile with notes of toasted almonds, lemon grass, vanilla, and orchard fruits, finished with a subtle hint of smoke.

It’s a brave person who tries to persuade a malt like Lagavulin to go into a different direction. Indeed, even PX casks, from the sweetest fortified wine of all, can’t fully obscure the distillery’s character, just give it a raisined coating. The creosote turns to tar and licorice, while there’s Syrah-like sootiness, and damson. This release is slightly less sweet than in the past and is the better for it, though I still prefer my Lagavulin relatively ‘naked.’

The Lagavulin 12 Year Old "Grain & Embers" 2025 Special Release is a bold, cask-strength Islay single malt bottled at 56.5% ABV. Matured in a combination of refill casks alongside Pedro Ximénez (PX) and Oloroso-seasoned European oak butts, it balances robust coastal peat with layers of rich, sherried sweetness.

The Lagavulin 12 Year Old "Fireside Tales" (2024 Special Release) is a natural cask-strength Islay single malt. Matured in a mix of first-fill ex-Bourbon and refill casks, it delivers the distillery's signature bold peat smoke softened by active oak, resulting in an extraordinarily balanced, sweet, and complex profile at 57.4% ABV.

The whiskey is a collaboration between the Camus family, a cognac producer, and the Baring family, who own Lambay Island, Ireland.

Celebrated for its robust, smoky profile and intricate depth, Laphroaig 10 Year Old sets the standard for Islay single malts, presenting enthusiasts with a whisky journey that is as daring as it is gratifying. Matured for a decade in ex-bourbon barrels, this expression encapsulates the essence of the rugged coastal environment, delivering notes of peaty smoke, briny seaweed, and subtle hints of sweetness.

This limited edition release from Laphroaig, bottled in March 2017, underwent a unique maturation process. Initially aged in refill hogsheads, a portion was transferred to refill quarter casks, while the rest remained in first-fill bourbon barrels. After a total of 27 years of aging, the whiskies were blended and bottled at 41.7% ABV.

A new, no age statement addition to the Laphroaig family that blends together Quarter Cask, PX, Triple Wood, and 10 year old. The nose is reminiscent of freshly-treated decking, before some classic iodine creeps in. Water brings out geranium, pollen, and damp leather. The palate is simple, clean, and mild (and smoky), with bay leaf, light dried fruit, and that oily wood. Undoubtedly there's a lot going on, but it’s not married, and 40% means it lacks the necessary wallop.

Legent® Yamazaki Cask Finish Blend is a testament to the collaborative artistry and innovation in whiskey-making. Originating as a meticulously crafted Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Fred in Kentucky, it embarks on a transformative journey across continents to the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery in Japan. Under the expertise of Shinji, it undergoes secondary aging in French Oak wine casks and Spanish Oak sherry casks, as well as a finishing period in sherry casks previously used for maturing Yamazaki Single Malt Japanese Whisky.
