The very first edition from the Sakurao distillery, Kinbu vodka is unique in being entirely distilled from Yamada Nishiki rice, the most prized sake rice. This variety of rice, known for its high starch content, is fully expressed in this vodka, revealing aromas of cereals and flowers that culminate in a light and fresh finish, all enveloped in a soft and silky texture. The name "Kinbu," meaning "gold" in Japanese, reflects the high quality of this Japanese vodka, distilled and bottled at the Sakurao distillery, renowned for its whiskies, including the famous Togouchi.

This noble blend of selected Friulian red grapes is aged in French oak barriques within the traditional cellars of the Tosolini Family. The oak casks are toasted with "Kentucky" tobacco leaves, creating a deep and intense smoked Grappa. John Dewar & Sons Ltd has unveiled a 12-year-old expression from its Macduff distillery, previously recognized as Glen Deveron but now rebranded as the Deveron. This offering presents a delicate and inviting aroma, characterized by soft sweetness and fruity nuances. Notes of vanilla, ginger, ripe peaches, and apple blossom tantalize the senses. On the palate, it offers a medium-bodied texture with a gentle spiciness, featuring butterscotch and Brazil nuts, followed by a subtle hint of licorice. The finish is marked by dry, spicy oak notes, complemented by a touch of caramel, adding depth to the overall experience.

Each batch is a little bit different, this one leaning to sweet orchard fruits, nutty barley, and hot spicy rye. Butterscotch and vanilla on the nose translate well onto the palate. Brisk peppery spice underlies developing layers, adding another dimension of complexity to an already broad range of flavors. Hints of oak tannins on the finish remind us this was finished in Canadian wood.

Bags of orris root florality. This gin would work exceptionally well in an Aviation cocktail. Lingers well, nice texture. Pine could be boosted tbh.

R de Rieussec is the Château's dry white wine made from a blend of 59% Sauvignon Blanc and 41% Sémillon with 20% of the fermentation occurring in barrel to help the wine's aging potential. The R has a beautiful bouquet of citrus-tinged tropical fruits. This wine is powerful and harmonious with flavors of citrus, mango and papaya, an energetic acidity and textured mouthfeel which lead into a complex and refreshing finish. Enjoy with Asian dishes, spicy fried chicken or mixed vegetables.
