The oldest soils can be found in the Rothenberg area. They are of volcanic origin. The vineyard has several terraces. This Riesling grows on particularly old vines on these steps. Aromas of peaches and apricots. Emphatically mineral, with acidity. Very good with Asian dishes.

In 1870, George Garvin Brown established Old Forester on Louisville, KY's renowned whiskey row. To commemorate this pivotal year in bourbon history, we present Old Forester 1870 Original Batch, the inaugural craft expression in the Old Forester Whiskey Row Series.

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch pays homage to George Garvin Brown's original batching method. In his time, Brown combined barrels from three distilleries to achieve a consistent flavor profile. To replicate this process today, we meticulously select barrels from three warehouses, each originating from a distinct day of production, with varying entry proofs and age profiles.

These three iterations of Old Forester are then blended to create Old Forester 1870 Original Batch. This 90-proof bourbon is minimally filtered to honour the techniques available to George Garvin Brown during that era.

On the nose, this whisky offers an array of inviting aromas, including polished oak pews, brandy-soaked cherries, Wine Gums, and leather, accompanied by nuances of goat's milk dark chocolate, candied nuts, and marzipan. Fruity pipe tobacco, oranges, and sliced melons add depth to the bouquet. The palate delivers a rich, fruity, and floral experience with a warm, buttery mouthfeel, featuring notes of polished oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla bean. Indulgent flavors of creme caramel, dulce de leche, mandarin orange, and brandy-soaked cherries unfold, accompanied by hints of tobacco, dark chocolate, and leather. The finish, of medium length, envelops the palate in warm spices, creamy vanilla, and soft fruits. While not as sherried as previous batches, this whisky exudes elegance and complexity. While its exact origins remain unclear, it is associated with a renowned distillery on the Ballindalloch Estate.

With a mashbill of 72/18/10% (corn/rye/malted barley), Old Forester offers a traditional recipe in a contemporary proof. Ponder the basics: caramel and vanilla with hints of herbs and baking spices. Promise shows in pumpkin spice, custard, and burnt caramel, but there’s an unwanted high-alcohol note that dulls much of the sweeter taste. Its final moments are saved with hints of cinnamon. Good value bourbon.

Slow-roasted corn, marzipan, cinnamon, nutmeg, and kettle corn start this experience and slowly fade to corn on the cob with butter, salt, and pepper. Then, it’s apple cider vinegar, deep-fried mushrooms, and Nutella. Fried pie dough and hints of chocolate appear before a medium finish that has a hint of toffee.

KAH Tequila Blanco is a double distilled, un-aged Tequila crafted from 100% Blue Agave and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). It offers an initial sweetness followed by a burst of peppery spice. The 2018 Cosecha bottling is crafted from over-ripe Highland pinto Blue Weber agave cultivated at an altitude of 5,019 feet in the mineral-rich CALICHE soil of Vista Hermosa, Micohoacán, the southernmost region within the D.O. This unique terroir, saturated with calcium carbonate, imparts a heightened minerality to Tequila Fuenteseca Cosecha 2018, beautifully complementing its pure agave essence, characterized by notes of sweet, cooked yams, and warm baking spices.

This calvados is the result of the blending of different Calvados Pays d'Auge aged for at least 4 years in oak barrels. Once blended, it stays in casks for enough time to obtain a characteristic smoothness.

Colour: Amber, golden.

Nose: Fruity, elegant oaky notes, hazelnut, toast and brioche.

Palate: Balanced and harmonious, vanilla notes, oaky, ripe apples and applesauce.

Finale: Nice length, elegant and velvety.

This cheery buttercup-yellow spirit evolves from sweet to bitter in seconds flat. At first, it has a sweet, honey-like cast, then ginger and other herbal notes develop and, finally, it finishes dry, with an amaro-like bitter note.
