This whisky is an ex-Bourbon cask finish and is bottled at 46% abv, and is the first time Penderyn have released a core range single malt using mainly spirit from the pot stills, which we introduced in 2014.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Elegant and floral with light oak notes, vanilla, raisins, toffee apples, citrus peel and a hint of lime.

Palate: A delicate smooth single malt with honeyed fruits, vanilla, cinnamon spice and a hint of nutmeg.

Finish: Soft honey and vanilla notes fade to a malty finish.

Bisquit & Dubouché XO is a luxurious cognac meticulously crafted from the finest Eaux-de-vie sourced from the prestigious Grande and Petite Champagne crus. Aged slowly in French oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years, it boasts a remarkably smooth taste and a lingering finish, thanks to its uniquely extended distillation process. With a deep, copper hue reminiscent of its oak cask aging, the nose reveals a captivating bouquet of wood, smokey tobacco, cocoa, cinnamon, and fragrant candied fruit. On the palate, it offers a rich, full-bodied experience, with flavors of plum, mocha, cedar wood, and licorice adding depth to its profile. The finish is enduring, leaving a lasting impression that is simply unforgettable.

Bright, ruddy highlights show in the dark amber liquid. Dried cherry and fresh plum mix with cocoa and vanilla, leading to a flavor that resembles chocolate-covered cherry. Made of VSOP Cognac finished in Kentucky bourbon casks, this bottling is not labeled as Cognac. Overall, it's mildly sweet and plenty easy-drinking. Best Buy.

A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Haut-Bailly was harvested from the 9th to 25th of September. It has an alcohol of 14.3%. Deep purple-black in colour, it prances out of the glass with naturally beautiful notions of fresh black cherries, violets, mulberries and boysenberries, giving way to hints of redcurrant jelly, star anise, tilled soil and menthol. The medium to full-bodied palate is delicately crafted with velvety/grainy tannins and fantastic freshness framing the perfumed red and black berry layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant-earth note.

Chateau Canon-la-Gaffeliere is a Premier Grand Cru Classe, located in the St. Emilion appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux. Owned by the von Neipperg family, there are links to viticulture here since the 13th century. Canon -la-Gaffeliere is one of only two Bordeaux properties that is Certified Organic. The 2014 is a red blend of 55% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of preserved blackberry, fig and black currant. The palate is medium-bodied with good structure and a spicy finish.

This is another property owned by the famous Rothschild family, acquiring this estate in 1970, embarking on an ambitious renovation of the vineyards. Vines were replanted, parcels were consolidated and technical improvements were made including the building of a new vat room. Chateau Clerc Milon is a Fifth Growth located in Pauillac that adjoins both Chateau Mouton and Rothschild. This 2019 is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Containing the highest amount of cabernet sauvignon since the 1980's, this is classic Pauillac with fresh cassis, red cherry and plum that has nuances of classic, lead pencil, cedar and tobacco. This can be enjoyed now with a decant but has the ability to age very well for the next 20 years.

Superior structure, great fruit, excellent aromaticity, intense colour, ruby red with violet reflections, fine perlage and enveloping foam. Persistent and fragrant scent, reminiscent of field violets and cherries. A lively wine, with long and fruity persistence, savory and dry, with an inviting foam that makes every sip irresistible. This Sauvignon Blanc is zesty with lively acidity, hints of passion fruit and gooseberry. There is a touch of richness on the palate which is well balanced by the vibrant acidity and finishes long and clean.

Bright golden appearance shot through with amber highlights. A delightfully refined Rivesaltes with a classy bouquet of soft caramel, stewed apples, pears, nuts and an overriding impression of completeness. Round and elegant on the palate, with a Margaux like understated sophistication. Unmistakeable rancio characters help to place this in a blind tasting, but this is preceeded by impressions of butterscotch, walnut fudge, soft brown sugar and a little treacle. Very gentle on the long length with a pleasing warmth that lingers long after the wine has disappeared.

“Showing the character of the best Cabernet Sauvignon berries I have ever worked with”, says Lenz. Spice of China, concentrated fruit aromas and flavours you would never expect from such a young Cabernet. The small berries occur in this desert climate to protect themselves from evaporating the water – hence a fantastic skin to juice ratio.

The nose is delicate, mingling rhubarb and peach fragrances with delicious notes of white flowers. A fresh attack with notes of rhubarb gives way to an alluring, delicious and pure mouthfeel. Persistent and smooth, the finish reveals buttery and subtle aromas of Muscadelle.

The 1975 Castarède Armagnac offers a rich and complex tasting experience, with deep fruit notes, a powerful palate, and a long finish. It's known for its harmonious blend of wood and fruit, and some reviewers highlight touches of nuts and ginger. The nose typically reveals a blend of molasses, dried banana, and white chocolate, while the palate features chocolate truffle, vanilla, cinnamon, and brioche. Some reviewers also note a hint of licorice in the finish.

Taylor Fladgate Ports represent over three and a quarter centuries of family tradition that began with the foundation of Taylor Fladgate & Yeatman in 1692. Chestnut, copper colour core with a light golden rim. The primary aromas are elegant, rich and very delicate. Notes of rum and raisin, clove, nutmeg and a hint of cracked black pepper. Prunes, quince and apricot dance on your palate as the zest of lemon and orange deliver a freshness of acidity to balance the richness of the wine. This iconic Champagne is renowned for its remarkable ageability! In its youth, it delivers tremendous richness and depth, showcasing a striking, finely balanced profile. Alberta Premium Cask Strength Limited Edition Release is distilled in Calgary, Alberta, using 100% Canadian Prairie rye grains and glacier-fed spring water from the Rocky Mountains. This release blends pot still and column still distillation, aged in heavily charred (#4) first-fill ex-bourbon barrels from Jim Beam, as well as virgin oak and second-fill bourbon barrels. It features an oaky sweetness with prominent vanilla notes on the nose. The palate offers a rich combination of vanilla toffee, milk chocolate, and rye spiciness, with a hint of stone fruits. The long finish carries the complex flavors through to the end.

Ilauri Chiola Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC is a rosé wine produced in the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo subregion of Abruzzo, Italy. The wine is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, which are hand-picked and vinified using a short maceration process to obtain its beautiful pink color. The wine has a fruity and floral aroma with notes of cherry, raspberry, and rose petals. On the palate, it is fresh, lively, and well-balanced with a pleasant acidity and a long finish. This wine is a perfect pairing for seafood, grilled vegetables, and light pasta dishes.

Wine Enthusiast: On the greener, vegetal side, this opens with notes of bell pepper, tomato stem and white spice, with pineapple, passion fruit and lemon trailing behind.
