Some attractive citrus elements are present, but bruised-apple notes suggest a certain level of oxidation, and the flavors fall away quickly on the finish.

This biodynamic producer has hit in two consecutive vintages. The 2011 is a bit funky at first, so you may want to decant it before serving, but once some cabbage-like aromas dissipate, the wine delivers plenty of blackberry fruit, some garrigue notes and a touch of licorice. It's full bodied and creamy in texture, with a long, silky finish.

There's a faint coppery tinge to this wine's rosy pink hue, and the fruit is somewhat muted, but this remains an enjoyable drink. Leather and scorched cherry flavors are carried by a supple, rounded mouthfeel, finishing with moderate length and intensity. Easy to drink, but not one to hold more than another few months. "Two rows per terrace, licorice soils, vines formed with a single arm and a very unproductive rootstock, make up my landscape and my life.

Mas d’en Perí is a farmhouse dating from the middle of the s. XIX The previous owner made wines on the farm, and there are still some remains of the old cellar at the Mas. My family acquired it at the end of the 50s and I am the third generation to work the land but the first to venture into making wine.

17 ha make up the farm but at the moment there are only 4 planted. 15 years ago, my father decided to plant Grenache and Carignan. Now with the growth of the project, I have decided to plant 3 ha more of white varieties and a little more Grenache.

The vineyard is planted with the Sauvignon grape (75%), which provides the fruit, the aroma and freshness to the wine, whilst the other grape variety, the Semillon (25%), imparts roundness and finesse to this fine wine. M. de Malle Graves is a complex and well-structured wine that will benefit from some additional aging in the bottle, but is also enjoyable to drink now. 

Nose: Rock pools and sea shells, juxtaposed by redcurrant and toffee pennies.

Palate: Rounded barley with waves of soft smoke, dotted by chocolate, vanilla, cassia, and salted butter.

Finish: Very subtly grassy, still with vanilla and coastal peat smoke at the fore.

MacNair’s Lum Reek is a range of blended malts produced by the GlenAllachie Distillers Company. Created by Billy Walker, this composition is built around peated Islay and Speyside whiskies, mixed with GlenAllachie single malt. The whiskies are drawn from a combination of Oloroso, virgin oak and red wine casks. Nose: a nice start on elegant smoke, tobacco leaves and hints of cedar wood, mixed with raisin sweetness, toffee and a good dose of vanilla. Plum jam. Cinnamon. Lemon zest. Hints of cocoa in the background. Maybe not hugely expressive – elegance is key here.

Taste: s layered combination of dry and sweet notes again. Peaches, marmalade and berries, some honey and dark chocolate. Some old leather and pleasant woody touches. Toffee. Pepper. The earthy smoke is present but never overpowering.

Finish: medium to long, more ashy and spicy with lingering cocoa.

Maculan Vespaiolo is a white wine made from Vespaiola- a grape variety named after "Vespa", meaning wasps, for the creatures love of the sweet nectar of the grapes. Maculan is a three generation family owned winery located in Breganze in northern Italy. The wine boasts fresh aromatics of stone fruit, honey and orange blossom. In 1720, Maison Champy became the oldest wine company in Burgundy. By the arly 1900's, Champy has established itself as a premier wine company and had acquired more land in the Beaune, specifically in Savigny and Clos Vougeot. Pale yellow color with golden reflections. With a good intensity, the rich bouquet opens on ripe fruits (peach, apricot), on floral notes, and on notes of bread and freshly baked croissants. An elegant nose on a subtly woody base. On the palate, a good richness and smoothness with a long finish, opulent and round.

Clos de Vougeot is located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits between Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée. It represents an area of 49.86 ha, at an altitude varying between 240 and 255 meters above sea level. Founded in 1110 by the Abbaye of Citeaux, Clos de Vougeot is the ideal image of Burgundy, rich with a terroir worthy of art. The village of Vougeot also has 4 climates of 1ers Crus on an area of 12.5 ha, including 3 ha of white wines: Les Cras, La Vigne Blanche, Les Petits Vougeot, and Clos de la Perrière.

To the north of the Côte de Beaune, the Montagne de Corton brings together the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. The vineyards lie between 250 and 330 meters above sea level, forming an amphitheatre unlike any other on the Côte. Corton Grand Cru is produced mainly in red over 90 ha, and may bear the name of its climat, of which there are 25, such as Les Perrieres, Les Combes, Clos des Meix, Les Bressandes, Le Rognet, Les Renardes, Le Clos du Roi, etc.

Dark ruby colour with purple highlights. The nose is very open, with notes of small black fruit and vanilla on a finely woody background. Fresh on the palate, supple and round. A lively and structured wine, with tannins that are present but coated. The finish is tart.

The vineyard of Vosne-Romanée covers about 240 ha on Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Echezeaux. The village of Vosne-Romanée, situated at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, is comprised of six fabulous Grands Crus such as Romanée-Conti, Tâche, Richebourg… whereas its neighbor, Flagey-Echezeaux, shelters Echezeaux and Grands-Echezeaux. The production of Grands Crus represents ¼ of the vineyard. Les Echezeaux itself covers only 34.8 hectares, at an altitude varying between 230 and 300 meters above sea level, with a rather complex mixture of soils: limestone, red silt, marl…

Intense garnet colour. Aromas of fresh red fruit, like gooseberry, with hints of humus on a oaky background. Impressive concentration on the palate and a persistent texture. The finish is almost rustic, with firm tannins covered by the dry extract.
