A testament to its prestigious terroir, Pavillon Rouge Du Chateau Margaux 2019-536 offers a full-bodied profile with vibrant acidity and layers of dark fruit —an exceptional wine that captures the soul of its vineyard with every sip.

Pearse Lyons Distillery opened in 2017, becoming Dublin’s second working distillery this century. This single malt has a nose of honey, apple pie with cream, light pepper, dried grasses, and green herbal notes. The orchard fruits of apple and pear are silenced by a fury of pepper, root ginger, and clove, with only grapefruit peel proffered in response. The dry, banana chip finish fades in a melee of squabbling spices.

Nose: Rich and smoky with notes of peat, charred oak, and a hint of sea salt. Aromas of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and sweet Pedro Ximenez sherry emerge, adding depth and complexity.

Taste: Intense and robust, the palate delivers a burst of peat smoke, accompanied by flavors of roasted nuts, caramelized sugar, and dried figs. The influence of the Pedro Ximenez sherry cask is evident, bringing a luscious sweetness and a touch of dark fruitiness.

Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, the whisky coats the mouth with a delightful combination of smoky peat, rich sherry, and a subtle spiciness. The finish is long and warming, leaving a lingering smokiness and a touch of sweetness on the palate.

Adelphi presents this bottling of 2015 vintage Welsh whisky from the lovely Penderyn Distillery. It was aged for 8 years in a single cask which filled 247 bottles at 56.9% ABV. This single malt is presented without chill-filtration and with its natural colour.

Nose: Sweet prunes, dried fruits and raisins; sponge cake with hot chocolate sauce, a hint of coffee and honey aromas. Taste: Sweet liquorice, dark berries, jam and candied fruits, juicy apricots, caramel with roasted coffee beans with some sweet spice. Finish: Sweet sherry notes, dried fruits with a hint of oak.

This whisky is an ex-Bourbon cask finish and is bottled at 46% abv, and is the first time Penderyn have released a core range single malt using mainly spirit from the pot stills, which we introduced in 2014.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Elegant and floral with light oak notes, vanilla, raisins, toffee apples, citrus peel and a hint of lime.

Palate: A delicate smooth single malt with honeyed fruits, vanilla, cinnamon spice and a hint of nutmeg.

Finish: Soft honey and vanilla notes fade to a malty finish.

The ninth installment in the Penderyn Icons of Wales series, aptly named 'The Headliner' in honour of David Lloyd George (1863-1945), the sole Welsh Prime Minister and architect of the Immature Spirits Act 1915, mandating a minimum three-year maturation period for whisky. On the nose, expect subtle hints of red berries, strawberries and cream, complemented by a touch of cranberries, light oak, and vanilla. The palate offers a rich and sweet experience, with flavors of dried fruits, salted caramel, floral honey, and a spicy note of black pepper, leading to a tannin-driven dry finish.

The Penderyn Madeira Finish has a light golden colour and a nose of citrus, honey, and oak. The flavour is sweet and fruity, with notes of orange, lemon, and honey. The finish is long and lingering, with a touch of spice.

Myth is a single malt whisky matured in a range of specially selected ex-bourbon and rejuvenated oak casks, bottled at 41% abv. This whisky has a Kosher certificate.



Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh and lively, Myth has mixed citrus fruits mingling with apple, pear drops and the merest hint of tropical fruits

Palate: Sweetness dominates then moves over to allow some refreshing bitterness to emerge while the mixed fruits continue to dominate the flavour

Finish: Gradually all the flavours ebb away to leave memories of a lively and light style of whisky that is easy to drink

Rhiannon is the 7th chapter in Penderyn's Icons of Wales Series. Finished in sherry wood, the whisky is named after Rhiannon, an enchantress and horse goddess who could outrun any pursuer while riding slowly. Rhiannon in Welsh means 'Great Queen' or 'Divine Queen.'

On the nose, soft notes of raspberries and strawberry liqueur, as well as some melted butter, cassis, and candy canes. Hints of peanut skins and pastries. Needless to say, it is very sweet. The taste has more sweetness on arrival and is pretty much a continuation of the nose. Plenty of berries, but also some caramel sweetness. The wood has also infused some spiciness. The finish has a lingering sweetness and is somewhat drying.

More mineral notes emerge on the crisp, sweet palate, along with citrus elements, burley tobacco, hints of wine, dark chocolate, mild vanilla, and subtle oak. Nose: Rich and inviting with notes of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak.

Taste: Smooth and well-balanced, with flavors of honey, butterscotch, and a hint of spice.

Palate: Creamy and velvety, with a gentle warmth and a touch of dried fruit on the finish.

This is the inaugural release of this wine, very different in style from the Bin 707 Cabernet, coming from a single district and aged in French, not American, oak. The fruit is from two prized blocks of Penfolds' own vineyards, and is aged for 14 months in new French oak hogsheads. At first it is quite closed, but there's a delicate, almost floral and mint leaf edge here, then a rush of cassis begins to fill in. The oak adds a smoky incense note. The palate has a really firm backbone, the tight, powerful tannins framing really juicy fruit that bursts onto the mid-palate with sweet blackcurrant. Savoury and fresh on the finish, this is concentrated but long and elegant too.

Bin 389 was often referred to as ‘Baby Grange', in part because components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange. First made in 1960 by the legendary Max Schubert, this was the wine that helped forge Penfolds reputation with red wine drinkers by combining the structure of cabernet sauvignon with the richness of shiraz. Exemplifying the judicious balance of fruit and oak, Bin 389 highlights the generous mid-palate Penfolds in known for.

If you're looking for an alternative to the expensive Grange, try Bin 407. Still muscular with full flavours of blackcurrant, cedar, dark chocolate, and pepper, it's that big Australian style one might be looking for.

Nose indefinitely complex, leading to fine venerable dried fruit flavours. With deft balance and a peacocks tail of a finish.

In a deep crimson hue, this wine exudes lifted aromas of fresh dark chocolate, mocha, dark cherry, blackberry, and panforte, accompanied by subtle notes of liquorice and aniseed. The original and most powerful expression of Penfolds multi-vineyard, multi-district blending philosophy, Grange is arguably Australia' s most celebrated wine and is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. Crafted utilising fully-ripe, intensely-flavoured and structured shiraz grapes, the result is a unique Australian style that is now recognised as one of the most consistent of the worlds great wines. Flavours of dark fruits, Christmas pudding and fruitcake. Entwined with flavours of oak, deep texture and tannins.

Made as a traditional 'Australian blend', the Shiraz component provides fleshy fruit flavour while Cabernet provides a frame of fine grained tannins.

These are not the usual Special Bins that Penfolds releases every so often but this is a new wine that will be in regular production, although not every vintage. 

Crushed blackberry meets chocolate and vanilla, even on the nose generosity and concentration are apparent right away. The first sip is full-on: bold, concentrated tannins, fine freshness that highlights the wonderfully generous, bold, big, muscular fruit. It is that delicious and pervasive acidity that allows every nuance to show: that pure flavour of wild blueberry, that note of cocoa powder, that powdery vanilla and nutmeg-scented texture, those fine-grained but ripe tannins with both their rigour and their juiciness. This is brooding, dark, and profound and for now, it only gives us an idea of what will be possible. A wonderful new addition to the range. Seamless and balanced.

Per Se Aperitivo is a warm and light aperitif with a bright orange color, reminiscent of Southern European sunsets. It features a blend of 24 botanicals, including cardamom, orange, Jamaican pepper, and Portuguese hops, creating a complex and balanced flavor profile. The aroma is described as warm and sweet, with notes of orange zest and spice. The palate is light, sweet, and citrusy with a subtle bitterness, and it offers a smooth, citrusy finish.

Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut offers an enticing nose with delicate floral aromas, hints of white fruits, and a touch of citrus. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing, showcasing flavors of green apple, pear, and lemon zest. The wine's fine bubbles and lively acidity contribute to a vibrant and well-balanced finish.

If you're looking for Beaujolais Cru, look no further. Of the 10 Cru, CLS has wines from seven. Rather than sourcing the grapes from all across the Beaujolais region, each individual Cru has their own terroir and soil structure; all made with 100% Gamay with the resulting wines unique and set-apart from each other. The Fournaise vineyard of the Cote de Brouilly is located on the steepest hill of the Cru, where all the work has to be done manually, normally in very hot temperatures. The hill has an elevation of 480 m and is totally covered by 60-year old vines. The roots have to work hard to break through the blue volcanic rock. The resulting wine is powerful and it needs time to reveal its depth and minerality. The palate is full with an amazing concentration and an outstanding, complex finish.

From the prestigious area of Montefalco in Umbria, Perticaia is embracing all the native grapes of the area. This rosato is made from 80% Sagrantino, which is undoubtedly one of the most tannic grapes in all of Italy, balanced by 20% Sangiovese.  The wine is fine and elegant with floral hints of wild rose and fruity hints of peach and grapefruit. Well balanced with medium, mouth-watering acidity.

Pertimali Brunello di Montalcino 2017 is a red wine made from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy. The Pertimali estate has been producing wine for over 100 years, and is known for its traditional winemaking methods that emphasize the terroir of the region. The Brunello di Montalcino is a DOCG wine, which means it is made according to strict regulations and quality standards. The wine is aged for three years in oak barrels and another year in the bottle before release, resulting in a complex and structured wine with notes of cherry, leather, and spice. It is a highly regarded wine that is often considered one of the top examples of Brunello di Montalcino.

Elegant, sophisticated, long, clean and expansive, this is showing just great due to all its layers of perfectly ripe, red fruits, silky tannins, length and freshness. There is a real verve here, with concentration, sweetness, lift and complexity allowing the wine to age and evolve. The finish leaves you with more of those sweet, ripe, juicy berries. Today the second wine of Mouton Rothschild is superior to every vintage of Mouton produced in the 70s and most of the 80s! The wine blends 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc.

Chateau Laurence 'Petite Laurence' is made from 100% Merlot grapes and aged for 14 months in tank and barrel before release. The wine is soft and smooth and gentle with a savouriness and spicy taste.  There is a food friendly meaty and woody undertone, perfect for a variety of Autumnal dishes.

The color is bright and the aroma, while not that intense, is precise and extremely pleasing thanks to how clean and assorted it is. The bouquet has notes of blueberry, blackberry and juniper, all topped with a balsamic touch. The mouthfeel is extraordinarily soft, perhaps too much so, but fortunately this is balanced by a lively acidity. It is decidedly impossible not to like this wine.
