Enrico Rivetto is a farmer in the Serralunga region of Piemonte. The long awaited Traditional Method Nebbiolo Spumante has finally arrived in Alberta. The wine is made from grapes plucked from the tips of the bunch only. 60 months on the lees gives the wine a biscuity, bready, brioche flavour combined with a whiff of cherry, rose, violets, and Italian herbs. Negro Amaro, a black grape grown in Puglia, the heel of Italy's boot, is often misspelled: unlike what is seen on many labels, it is two distinct words and should be written that way. Wines made with negro amaro are always dense, thick with blackberry, black cherry, licorice with clove and cocoa accents. Tenuta del Pajaru is Certified organic, using only natural yeasts and non-intervention winemaking, the wines express their sense of place. For the past 150 years Louis Jadot has continued as one of the great names of Burgundy and has gained international reputation for its superb red and white Burgundy wines. Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d'Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.Les Couchereaux vineyard is situated on top of the slope, in the middle of the commune and has a southern exposure of well drained soils. This is a full-bodied oak matured red with with ripe plum, red fruits and complex perfumed oak bouquet. A concentrated middle palate with a long after taste of blackberries and undertones of spice. Good to drink now, but will continue to improve for the next 3-5 years.  Pairs easily with beef, lamb or even wild game such as venison.

Tasting Notes

Nose: cereal barley malt, some caramelised sugar and light treacle, hints of vanilla custard and crème brulee, fruity apples and pears, toffee and caramel

Palate: light and smooth initially, creamy caramelised sugar, caramel, fudge, toffee, vanilla, some spices begin to develop, a light wasabi heat and a little fennel give this a spiced kick

Finish: medium, balanced between creamy vanilla toffee and drying spiced oak and hints of peat

This exquisite 32-year-old Highland single grain whisky, distilled at Invergordon in January 1990 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in August 2022 for their Rare Auld series, offers a luxurious tasting experience. Drawn from single sherry cask number 520009 and bottled at natural strength, it presents enticing aromas of butterscotch toffee, vanilla biscuits, and hints of sherried fruits. On the palate, flavors of vanilla cream biscuits, sugar-glazed red fruits, honey, rich oak, and subtle spices unfold, leading to a sweet and fruity finish with lingering notes of dark chocolate. Complex and indulgent, with only 330 bottles available worldwide.

Named for the Norman princess who lived around Cirò in the 11th century, the Mabilia is made from 100% Gaglioppo grapes. The juice is left on the skins for 24 hours, with only a delicate pink colour extracted, and the resulting wine being very fruity with notes of watermelon, red cherry, and roses. Fresh, lively, and fruity, this rosato is a great match for chicken, turkey and fish dishes.

Ilauri Chiola Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC is a rosé wine produced in the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo subregion of Abruzzo, Italy. The wine is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, which are hand-picked and vinified using a short maceration process to obtain its beautiful pink color. The wine has a fruity and floral aroma with notes of cherry, raspberry, and rose petals. On the palate, it is fresh, lively, and well-balanced with a pleasant acidity and a long finish. This wine is a perfect pairing for seafood, grilled vegetables, and light pasta dishes.

Straight Edge is a blend of 5, 7 and 8-year-old Bourbon from Kentucky and Tennessee. The Bourbon was finished in the Napa Valley where it was aged in seasoned wine barrels. The barrels imparted toasty vanilla and dried fruit notes while also allowing the Bourbon to soften and mellow.
Aromatically intriguing with brown sugar, maple, caramelized oak, exotic spices, orange peel and campfire. The palate is velvety smooth, rich and packed with flavors of brown spice, honey and intense caramel. The complexity is apparent and the finish is persistent, long lasting and focused.

Profumi della Costiera Limoncello distinguishes itself by eschewing additives and preservatives, sourcing its lemons exclusively from the pristine Amalfi coast of Campania near Ravello. Unlike conventional methods, they incorporate twice the usual amount of lemons, ensuring a heightened intensity of flavor and aroma. The result is a delightful Limoncello boasting vibrant notes of lemon zest, meringue, and sweet apple blossom, capturing the essence of the sun-drenched Amalfi coast in every sip.

In 1870, George Garvin Brown established Old Forester on Louisville, KY's renowned whiskey row. To commemorate this pivotal year in bourbon history, we present Old Forester 1870 Original Batch, the inaugural craft expression in the Old Forester Whiskey Row Series.

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch pays homage to George Garvin Brown's original batching method. In his time, Brown combined barrels from three distilleries to achieve a consistent flavor profile. To replicate this process today, we meticulously select barrels from three warehouses, each originating from a distinct day of production, with varying entry proofs and age profiles.

These three iterations of Old Forester are then blended to create Old Forester 1870 Original Batch. This 90-proof bourbon is minimally filtered to honour the techniques available to George Garvin Brown during that era.

This bold, ripe but nicely polished wine wraps black cherries, black currants and mint in moderate, fine-grained tannins that will help carry it for several years. Subtle cinnamon, clove and cedar accents keep it interesting on the finish. Best through 2030.
